<P>Note that the 2.0 alpha runtime samples distributions assume you have JDK 5 and <SPAN class="nobr"><A href="http://maven.apache.org/" title="Visit page outside Confluence" rel="nofollow">Maven 2.04 <SUP><IMG class="rendericon" src="http://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/images/icons/linkext7.gif" height="7" width="7" align="absmiddle" alt="" border="0"></SUP></A></SPAN> installed.</P>
<P>1. Download and unzip the 2.0 alpha runtime distribution <BR>
2. Download and unzip the 2.0 alpha samples<BR>
3. Build the common sample module from the samples root directory by doing:</P>

<PRE class="code-java">mvn install</PRE>
</DIV></DIV>
<P>4. Go to <TT>standalone</TT> under the samples root directory and select the caculator sample<BR>
5. Build the sample by doing:</P>

<PRE class="code-java">mvn install</PRE>
</DIV></DIV>
<P>6. Run the sample using the following command:</P>
<DIV class="code"><DIV class="codeContent">
<PRE class="code-java">java -jar <path to launcher bin directory where you downloaded the standalone runtime> calc.jar add 1 2</PRE>
</DIV></DIV>
<P>7. The loan application sample may also be run by building it executing the following:</P>

<PRE class="code-java">java -jar <path to launcher bin directory where you downloaded the standalone runtime> loanapplication.jar</PRE>

<P>Alternatively the samples can be run from the standalone runtime directory using:</P>
