ignore buffer_pool_size_max, set it to initial size - fix Windows large page handling. Reserve and commit in one step, as described in the docs - allow main.large_pages to run on Windows - remove special Linux-only "performance improvement" that allows to access decommited unallocated regions. Not only its value is only theoretical and miniscule, but also will lead to subtle non-Linux production crashes, and, as history teaches, be ignored by developers who are not productive in non-Linux environment This also removed quite a lot of ifdefs |
