To change all executables to have a mariadb name I had to:
- Do name changes in every CMakeLists.txt that produces executables
- CREATE_MARIADB_SYMLINK was removed and GET_SYMLINK added by Wlad to reuse the function in other places also
- The scripts/CMakeLists.txt could make use of GET_SYMLINK instead of introducing redundant code, but I thought I'll leave that for next release
- A lot of changes to debian/.install and debian/.links files due to swapping of real executable and symlink. I did not however change the name of the manpages, so the real name is still mysql there and mariadb are symlinks.
- The Windows part needed a change now when we made the executables mariadb -named. MSI (and ZIP) do not support symlinks and to not break backward compatibility we had to include mysql named binaries also. Done by Wlad
Debian is apparently offended that pcre2-posix implements POSIX API,
thus it renames all posix-compatible symbols in libpcre2-posix to have the
PCRE2 prefix. But Debian doesn't do anything to pcre2posix.h header,
so any unaware application will get POSIX compatible type names
and function prototypes from pcre2, but actual symbols will come
from libc.
To remedy this enormous incongruity we have to redefine POSIX-compatible
function names in pcre2posix to match Debian's hack.
- Load and convert the entire input file at once,
rather than reading string-by-string using fgets().
This change makes it possible to convert from UCS2, UTF16, UTF32 data.
- Adding the --delimiter command, to treat the specified
characters as delimiters rather than data to convert.
Useful in combination with `-f filename` or `-t filename`.
The delimiter characters are not converted,
they are copied from the input to the output as is.
- Adding diagnostics with line number and position if:
* an illegal input byte sequence was found
* a character cannot be converted to the target character set
MULTIPLE THREADS
Description:- The utility "mysqlimport" does not use
multiple threads for the execution with option
"--use-threads". "mysqlimport" while importing multiple
files and multiple tables, uses a single thread even if the
number of threads are specified with "--use-threads" option.
Analysis:- This utility uses ifdef HAVE_LIBPTHREAD to check
for libpthread library and if defined uses libpthread
library for mutlithreaing. Since HAVE_LIBPTHREAD is not
defined anywhere in the source, "--use-threads" option is
silently ignored.
Fix:- "-DTHREADS" is set to the COMPILE_FLAGS which will
enable pthreads. HAVE_LIBPTHREAD macro is removed.

Adding ${CMAKE_BINARY_DIR}/pcre into search path for *.h files.

- build executables we have in 5.3 (mysql_install_db.exe, mysq_upgrade_service.exe, upgrade wizard), and MSI
- add some missing headers to windows specific source files.
This needs to be done since 5.5 is using WIN32_LEAN_AND_MEAN preprocessor constant thus windows.h
no more includes whiole Windows
- do not deliver perl scripts (mysql_install_db.pl & friends) -they do not work, are not documented, and we
have native executables for this functionality. do not pack echo.exe, replace.exe into MSI, they
are not needed. Do not build resolveip on Windows, it is not used.
- precache results of of system checks in cmake/os/WindowsCache.cmake (like it is alreay done for majority of tests
to speed up cmake run with VS)
- make feedback plugin DEFAULT on Windows (so MSI works if user enables plugin),
fix null pointer access in PSI_register
