If it is not enabled, build wsrep as static "stub" library from wsrep_dummy.cc
´
Allow static plugins to export symbols (on Unix)
wsrep_info relies on wsrep defined symbols (e.g LOCK_wsrep_config_state)
exported from mysqld
Some architectures (mips) require libatomic to support proper
atomic operations. Check first if support is available without
linking, otherwise use the library.

- Adding optional qualifiers to data types:
CREATE TABLE t1 (a schema.DATE);
Qualifiers now work only for three pre-defined schemas:
mariadb_schema
oracle_schema
maxdb_schema
These schemas are virtual (hard-coded) for now, but may turn into real
databases on disk in the future.
- mariadb_schema.TYPE now always resolves to a true MariaDB data
type TYPE without sql_mode specific translations.
- oracle_schema.DATE translates to MariaDB DATETIME.
- maxdb_schema.TIMESTAMP translates to MariaDB DATETIME.
- Fixing SHOW CREATE TABLE to use a qualifier for a data type TYPE
if the current sql_mode translates TYPE to something else.
The above changes fix the reported problem, so this script:
SET sql_mode=ORACLE;
CREATE TABLE t2 AS SELECT mariadb_date_column FROM t1;
is now replicated as:
SET sql_mode=ORACLE;
CREATE TABLE t2 (mariadb_date_column mariadb_schema.DATE);
and the slave can unambiguously treat DATE as the true MariaDB DATE
without ORACLE specific translation to DATETIME.
Similar,
SET sql_mode=MAXDB;
CREATE TABLE t2 AS SELECT mariadb_timestamp_column FROM t1;
is now replicated as:
SET sql_mode=MAXDB;
CREATE TABLE t2 (mariadb_timestamp_column mariadb_schema.TIMESTAMP);
so the slave treats TIMESTAMP as the true MariaDB TIMESTAMP
without MAXDB specific translation to DATETIME.
In fsp_path_to_space_name(), we would access a byte right before
the start of the string, tripping AddressSanitizer.
This reverts commit d87006a1c1
and commit a7634281aa.
This version is not optimized yet. It could have bugs because I didn't
check it with unit tests. Also, std::char_traits are not really supported.
So, now it's not possible to create f.ex. a case insensitive string_view.
fil_path_to_space_name(): renamed, moved to another file
and refactored to use string_view
For Visual Studio generator, use a per-config .def/.lib files with symbols
exported from mysqld.exe
Functions exported from mysqld.exe may differ between debug/optimized
compilation, e.g dbug functions are missing in release config.
This change takes into account a column's GENERATED ALWAYS AS
expression dependcy on sql_mode's PAD_CHAR_TO_FULL_LENGTH and
NO_UNSIGNED_SUBTRACTION flags.
Indexed virtual columns as well as persistent generated columns are
now not allowed to have such dependencies to avoid inconsistent data
or index files on sql_mode changes.
So an error is now returned in cases like this:
CREATE OR REPLACE TABLE t1
(
a CHAR(5),
v VARCHAR(5) AS (a) PERSISTENT -- CHAR->VARCHAR or CHAR->TEXT = ERROR
);
Functions RPAD() and RTRIM() can now remove dependency on
PAD_CHAR_TO_FULL_LENGTH. So this can be used instead:
CREATE OR REPLACE TABLE t1
(
a CHAR(5),
v VARCHAR(5) AS (RTRIM(a)) PERSISTENT
);
Note, unlike CHAR->VARCHAR and CHAR->TEXT this still works,
not RPAD(a) is needed:
CREATE OR REPLACE TABLE t1
(
a CHAR(5),
v CHAR(5) AS (a) PERSISTENT -- CHAR->CHAR is OK
);
More sql_mode flags may affect values of generated columns.
They will be addressed separately.
See comments in sql_mode.h for implementation details.
Do not try to compile threadpool_common.cc, if threadpool is not available
on current OS.
Also introduced undocumented/uncached CMake variable DISABLE_THREADPOOL,
to emulate builds on exotic OSes.
Remove CMake INSTALL command for COMPONENT DataFiles.
mysql_install_db.exe will calculate default datadir, so that it can be
called without any parameters.
1. Renaming Type_handler_json to Type_handler_json_longtext
There will be other JSON handlers soon, e.g. Type_handler_json_varchar.
2. Making the code more symmetric for data types:
- Adding a new virtual method
Type_handler::Column_definition_validate_check_constraint()
- Moving JSON-specific code from sql_yacc.yy to
Type_handler_json_longtext::Column_definition_validate_check_constraint()
3. Adding new files sql_type_json.cc and sql_type_json.h
and moving Type_handler+JSON related code into these files.
This task involves the implementation for the optimizer trace.
This feature produces a trace for any SELECT/UPDATE/DELETE/,
which contains information about decisions taken by the optimizer during
the optimization phase (choice of table access method, various costs,
transformations, etc). This feature would help to tell why some decisions were
taken by the optimizer and why some were rejected.
Trace is session-local, controlled by the @@optimizer_trace variable.
To enable optimizer trace we need to write:
set @@optimizer_trace variable= 'enabled=on';
To display the trace one can run:
SELECT trace FROM INFORMATION_SCHEMA.OPTIMIZER_TRACE;
This task also involves:
MDEV-18489: Limit the memory used by the optimizer trace
introduces a switch optimizer_trace_max_mem_size which limits
the memory used by the optimizer trace. This was implemented by
