when replicating old temporal type fields (that don't store
metadata in the binlog), take the precision from
destination fields.
(this fixes the replication failure, crashes were
fixed in a different commit)
* make a local variable for target_table->field[col]
* move an often-used bit function to my_bit.h
* remove a non-static and not really needed trivial comparison
function with a very generic name
There are three Log_event::read_log_event() methods:
1. read the event image from IO_CACHE into String
2. create Log_event from the in-memory event image
3. read the event image from IO_CACHE and create Log_event
The 3rd was reading event image into memory and invoking the 2nd to
create Log_event. Now the 3rd also uses the 1st to read the event image
from IO_CACHE into memory, instead of duplicating its functionality.
- Part 3: Adding mem_root to push_back() and push_front()
Other things:
- Added THD as an argument to some partition functions.
- Added memory overflow checking for XML tag's in read_xml()
Fix was to add a test in Query_log_event::Query_log_event() if we are using
CREATE ... SELECT and in this case use trans cache, like we do on the master.
This avoid using (with doesn't have checksum)
Other things:
- Removed dummy call my_checksum(0L, NULL, 0)
- More DBUG_PRINT
- Cleaned up Log_event::need_checksum() to make it more readable (similar as in MySQL 5.6)
- Renamed variable that was hiding another one in create_table_imp()
The fix is that if the slave has a different integer size than
the master, then they will assume the master has the same signed/unsigned modifier
as the slave.
This means that one can safely change a coon the slave an int to a bigint
or an unsigned int to an unsigned int. Changing an unsigned int to an
signed bigint will cause replication failures when the high bit of the
unsigned int is set.
We can't give an error if the signess is different on the master and slave
as the binary log doesn't contain the signess of the column on the master.
- Changed ER(ER_...) to ER_THD(thd, ER_...) when thd was known or if there was many calls to current_thd in the same function.
- Changed ER(ER_..) to ER_THD_OR_DEFAULT(current_thd, ER...) in some places where current_thd is not necessary defined.
- Removing calls to current_thd when we have access to thd
Part of this is optimization (not calling current_thd when not needed),
but part is bug fixing for error condition when current_thd is not defined
(For example on startup and end of mysqld)
Notable renames done as otherwise a lot of functions would have to be changed:
- In JOIN structure renamed:
examined_rows -> join_examined_rows
record_count -> join_record_count
- In Field, renamed new_field() to make_new_field()
Other things:
- Added DBUG_ASSERT(thd == tmp_thd) in Item_singlerow_subselect() just to be safe.
- Removed old 'tab' prefix in JOIN_TAB::save_explain_data() and use members directly
- Added 'thd' as argument to a few functions to avoid calling current_thd.
Changing the error message to:
"...from type 'decimal(0,?)/*old*/' to type ' 'decimal(10,7)'..."
So it's now clear that the master data type is OLD decimal.
The reason for the failure was a bug in an include file on debian that causes 'struct stat'
to have different sized depending on the environment.
This patch fixes so that we always include my_global.h or my_config.h before we include any other files.
Other things:
- Removed #include <my_global.h> in some include files; Better to always do this at the top level to have as few
"always-include-this-file-first' files as possible.
- Removed usage of some include files that where already included by my_global.h or by other files.

If replication breaks in GTID mode, it is not trivial to determine the GTID of
the failing event group. This is a problem, as such GTID is needed eg. to
explicitly set @@gtid_slave_pos to skip to after that event group, or to
compare errors on different servers, etc.
Fix by ensuring that relevant slave errors logged to the error log include the
GTID of the event group containing the problem event.
(MYSQLBINLOG -V CRASHES WITH THAT BINLOG)
Problem: If slave receives a corrupted row event,
slave server is crashing.
Analysis: When slave is unpacking the row event, it is
not validating the data before applying the event. If the
data is corrupted for eg: the length of a field is wrong,
it could end up reading wrong data leading to a crash.
A similar problem happens when mysqlbinlog tool is used
against a corrupted binlog using '-v' option. Due to -v
option, the tool tries to print the values of all the
fields. Corrupted field length could lead to a crash.
Fix: Before unpacking the field, a verification
will be made on the length. If it falls into the event
range, only then it will be unpacked. Otherwise,
"ER_SLAVE_CORRUPT_EVENT" error will be thrown.
Incase mysqlbinlog -v case, the field value will not be
printed and the processing of the file will be stopped.

Now calc_field_size() is required for client too.
The merge is still missing a few hunks related to temporary tables and
InnoDB log file size. The associated code did not seem to exist in
10.0, so the merge of that needs more work. Until this is fixed, there
are a number of test failures as a result.

Set thd->first_successful_insert_id_in_prev_stmt_for_binlog when setting thd->first_successful_insert_id_in_prev_stmt.

This is analog to how read_first_successful_insert_id_in_prev_stmt() works.
sql/rpl_utility.cc:
Added DBUG_PRINT
OF OLD STYLE DECIMALS
Problem: In RBR, Slave is unable to read row buffer
properly when the row event contains MYSQL_TYPE_DECIMAL
(old style decimals) data type column.
Analysis: In RBR, Slave assumes that Master sends
meta data information for all column types like
text,blob,varchar,old decimal,new decimal,float,
and few other types along with row buffer event.
But Master is not sending this meta data information
for old style decimal columns. Hence Slave is crashing
due to unknown precision value for these column types.
Master cannot send this precision value to Slave which
will break replication cross-version compatibility.
Fix: To fix the crash, Slave will now throw error if it
receives old-style decimal datatype. User should
consider changing the old-style decimal to new style
decimal data type by executing "ALTER table modify column"
query as mentioned in http://dev.mysql.com/
doc/refman/5.0/en/upgrading-from-previous-series.html.

* fix a 5.6 bug, temp file leak on dummy ALTER TABLE
Due to not resetting a member (last_added) of
Deferred events class inside a clean up function
(Deferred_log_events::rewind), there is a memory
leak on filtered slaves.
Fix:
Resetting last_added to NULL in rewind() function.
sql/rpl_utility.cc:
Resetting last_added to NULL to avoid memory leak
Base code and idea from a patch from by plinux at Taobao.
The idea is that we mark all memory that are thread specific with MY_THREAD_SPECIFIC.
Memory counting is done per thread in the my_malloc_size_cb_func callback function from my_malloc().
There are plenty of new asserts to ensure that for a debug server the counting is correct.
Information_schema.processlist gets two new columns: MEMORY_USED and EXAMINED_ROWS.
- The later is there mainly to show how query is progressing.
The following changes in interfaces was needed to get this to work:
- init_alloc_root() amd init_sql_alloc() has extra option so that one can mark memory with MY_THREAD_SPECIFIC
- One now have to use alloc_root_set_min_malloc() to set min memory to be allocated by alloc_root()
- my_init_dynamic_array() has extra option so that one can mark memory with MY_THREAD_SPECIFIC
- my_net_init() has extra option so that one can mark memory with MY_THREAD_SPECIFIC
- Added flag for hash_init() so that one can mark hash table to be thread specific.
- Added flags to init_tree() so that one can mark tree to be thread specific.
- Removed with_delete option to init_tree(). Now one should instead use MY_TREE_WITH_DELETE_FLAG.
- Added flag to Warning_info::Warning_info() if the structure should be fully initialized.
- String elements can now be marked as thread specific.
- Internal HEAP tables are now marking it's memory as MY_THREAD_SPECIFIC.
- Changed type of myf from int to ulong, as this is always a set of bit flags.
Other things:
- Removed calls to net_end() and thd->cleanup() as these are now done in ~THD()
- We now also show EXAMINED_ROWS in SHOW PROCESSLIST
- Added new variable 'memory_used'
- Fixed bug where kill_threads_for_user() was using the wrong mem_root to allocate memory.
- Removed calls to the obsoleted function init_dynamic_array()
- Use set_current_thd() instead of my_pthread_setspecific_ptr(THR_THD,...)

LESS COLUMNS THAN MASTER
Problem:
========
If DML operation requires a converstion at slave and if slave contains
less number of columns than master, slave is crashing.
Fix:
====
When Slave applies any DML operation, it sees if any of the columns
requires conversion. If yes, it creates conversion table.
While creating the coversion table, it should look into the actual number
of columns required to create the table instead of getting the number
of columns from Master (size()). Columns would have dropped or added
at Slave. So the value should be min(columns@master, columns@slave)
sql/rpl_utility.cc:
loop through only correct number of columns
