"BUG #18764: Delete conditions causing inconsistencies in Federated tables"
New test that verifies that one can insert to rows using
"insert into... select * from..", delete
them by id, then immediately insert them in the same way they were originally
inserted.
sql/ha_federated.cc:
"BUG #18764: Delete conditions causing inconsistencies in Federated tables"
Removed the logic in ha_federated::write_row which checked the query id of
each field and compared it to the thread query id.
Each field has a query id, and the problem used to be that if I did an insert
no fields specified, the field value would contain the last inserted value
for that field. The way to work around this was to see if the query id for
that field was the same as the current query id or of the rest of the field
query ids. If it wasn't, that told me the query didn't have the field value
specified.
Somewhere from when I wrote that code to now the problem went away, and there
was no longer the need for this logic.
Also removed the bool "has_fields", which needs not exist and using
table->s->fields is sufficient.
The Federated storage engine used Field methods that had arbitrary limits on
the amount of data they could process, which caused problems with data
over that limit (4K). By removing those Field methods and just using
features of the String class, we can avoid this problem.

BUG #19773
Post-review changes, per Monty. 3rd patch, OK'd for push.
- Added index_read_idx_with_result_set, which uses the result set passed to it
- Hash by entire connection scheme
- Protected store_result result set for table scan by adding a method result set
to index_read_idx and index_read which is passed to index_read_with_result, which
in turn iterates over the single record via read_next.
This is a change from having two result sets in the first two patches.
This keeps the code clean and avoids the need for yet another result set.
- Rewrote ::position and ::rnd_pos to store position - if primary key use
primary key, if not, use record buffer.
- Rewrote get_share to store hash with connect string vs. table name
- delete_row added subtration of "records" by affected->rows
- Added read_next to handle what rnd_next used to do (converting raw record
to query and vice versa)
- Removed many DBUG_PRINT lines
- Removed memset initialisation since subsequent loop accomplishes
- Removed un-necessary mysql_free_result lines

sql/table.h:
Change the type of db_length to uint from uint32: LEX_STRING uses uint for
length, we need a small and consistent set of types to store length to
minimize cast and compile failures.
When building the UPDATE query to send to the remote server, the

Handlerton array is now created instead of using sys_table_types_st. All storage engines can now have inits and giant ifdef's are now gone for startup. No compeltely clean yet, handlertons will next be merged with sys_table_types. Federated and archive now have real cleanup if their inits fail.

sql/ha_federated.cc:
populate the error buffer with error message from remote system
cursors. This should fix Bug#11813 when InnoDB part is in
(tested with a draft patch).
The idea of the patch is that if a storage engine supports
consistent read views, we open one when open a cursor,
set is as the active view when fetch from the cursor, and close
together with cursor close.

- add Cursor::ht_info to remember read views used in a cursor.
tests/mysql_client_test.c:
Disable an assert that will be no longer valid when consistent
read views in InnoDB are used.
The idea of the patch
is that every cursor gets its own lock id for table level locking.
Thus cursors are protected from updates performed within the same
connection. Additionally a list of transient (must be closed at
commit) cursors is maintained and all transient cursors are closed
when necessary. Lastly, this patch adds support for deadlock
timeouts to TLL locking when using cursors.
+ post-review fixes.
include/thr_lock.h:
- add a notion of lock owner to table level locking. When using
cursors, lock owner can not be identified by a thread id any more,
as we must protect cursors from updates issued within the same
connection (thread). So, each cursor has its own lock identifier to
use with table level locking.
- extend return values of thr_lock and thr_multi_lock with
THR_LOCK_TIMEOUT and THR_LOCK_DEADLOCK, since these conditions
are now possible (see comments to thr_lock.c)
mysys/thr_lock.c:
Better support for cursors:
- use THR_LOCK_OWNER * as lock identifier, not pthread_t.
- check and return an error for a trivial deadlock case, when an
update statement is issued to a table locked by a cursor which has
been previously opened in the same connection.
- add support for locking timeouts: with use of cursors, trivial
deadlocks can occur. For now the only remedy is the lock wait timeout,
which is initialized from a new global variable 'table_lock_wait_timeout'
Example of a deadlock (assuming the storage engine does not downgrade
locks):
con1: open cursor for select * from t1;
con2: open cursor for select * from t2;
con1: update t2 set id=id*2; -- blocked
con2: update t1 set id=id*2; -- deadlock
Lock timeouts are active only if a connection is using cursors.
- the check in the wait_for_lock loop has been changed from
data->cond != cond to data->cond != 0. data->cond is zeroed
in every place it's changed.
- added comments

notes about some suggestions:
1. Tried to replace my_sprintf with strxmov, but had problems. Couldn't
get the test suite to run at all, and could not find any particular
error. Since this is something that is not critical, I'll leave it
as is for now.
2. I would like to use my_error to create all of my error messages, but
cannot figure out how to get it to take more than one argument to be
passed to the error message (I tried this once but had errors, and
cannot find an example of how to get it to work despite seeing messages
with obviously more than one arg
3. Replaced all string building from literals to defined SQL string pieces
such as "SELECT ", "FROM " ...
4. Format fixes, spacing fixes completed
5. Removed records_in_range records calculation functionality
