d72c5d1ace Fixup for MDEV-35446
The previous commit for fixing MDEV-35446 disabled setting
Galera errors on COM_STMT_PREPARE commands.
As a side effect, a number of tests were started to fail
due to the client receiving different error codes from the
ones expected in the test dependending on whether --ps-protocol
was used.
Also, in the case of test galera_ftwrl, it was found that
it is expected that during COM_STMT_PREPARE command, we
may perform a sync wait operation, which can fail with
LOCK_WAIT_TIMEOUT error.
The revised fix consists in anticipating the call to
wsrep_after_command_before_result(), so that we check for
BF aborts or errors during statement prepare, before sending
back the statement metadata message to client.

3de412fbe8 MDEV-25593 Assertion `0' failed in Type_handler_temporal_result::Item_get_date on double EXECUTE
When binding to NULL, DEFAULT or IGNORE from an Item value, Item_param did not
change m_type_handler, so its value remained from the previous bind.
Thid led to DBUG_ASSERTs in Item_param::get_date() and
Timestamp_or_zero_datetime_native_null.

Fix:

Set Item_param::m_type_handler to &type_handler_null when
binding from an Item returning NULL.

This patch also fixes MDEV-35427.

bddbef3573 MDEV-34533 asan error about stack overflow when writing record in Aria
The problem was that when using clang + asan, we do not get a correct value
for the thread stack as some local variables are not allocated at the
normal stack.

It looks like that for example clang 18.1.3, when compiling with
-O2 -fsanitize=addressan it puts local variables and things allocated by
alloca() in other areas than on the stack.

The following code shows the issue

Thread 6 "mariadbd" hit Breakpoint 3, do_handle_one_connection
    (connect=0x5080000027b8,
    put_in_cache=<optimized out>) at sql/sql_connect.cc:1399

THD *thd;
1399      thd->thread_stack= (char*) &thd;
(gdb) p &thd
(THD **) 0x7fffedee7060
(gdb) p $sp
(void *) 0x7fffef4e7bc0

The address of thd is 24M away from the stack pointer

(gdb) info reg
...
rsp            0x7fffef4e7bc0      0x7fffef4e7bc0
...
r13            0x7fffedee7060      140737185214560

r13 is pointing to the address of the thd. Probably some kind of
"local stack" used by the sanitizer

I have verified this with gdb on a recursive call that calls alloca()
in a loop. In this case all objects was stored in a local heap,
not on the stack.

To solve this issue in a portable way, I have added two functions:

my_get_stack_pointer() returns the address of the current stack pointer.
The code is using asm instructions for intel 32/64 bit, powerpc,
arm 32/64 bit and sparc 32/64 bit.
Supported compilers are gcc, clang and MSVC.
For MSVC 64 bit we are using _AddressOfReturnAddress()

As a fallback for other compilers/arch we use the address of a local
variable.

my_get_stack_bounds() that will return the address of the base stack
and stack size using pthread_attr_getstack() or NtCurrentTed() with
fallback to using the address of a local variable and user provided
stack size.

Server changes are:

- Moving setting of thread_stack to THD::store_globals() using
  my_get_stack_bounds().
- Removing setting of thd->thread_stack, except in functions that
  allocates a lot on the stack before calling store_globals(). When
  using estimates for stack start, we reduce stack_size with
  MY_STACK_SAFE_MARGIN (8192) to take into account the stack used
  before calling store_globals().

I also added a unittest, stack_allocation-t, to verify the new code.

0d4be10a8a MDEV-14959: Control over memory allocated for SP/PS
This patch adds support for controlling of memory allocation
done by SP/PS that could happen on second and following executions.
As soon as SP or PS has been executed the first time its memory root
is marked as read only since no further memory allocation should
be performed on it. In case such allocation takes place it leads to
the assert hit for invariant that force no new memory allocations
takes place as soon as the SP/PS has been marked as read only.

The feature for control of memory allocation made on behalf SP/PS
is turned on when both debug build is on and the cmake option
-DWITH_PROTECT_STATEMENT_MEMROOT is set.

The reason for introduction of the new cmake option
  -DWITH_PROTECT_STATEMENT_MEMROOT
to control memory allocation of second and following executions of
SP/PS is that for the current server implementation there are too many
places where such memory allocation takes place. As soon as all such
incorrect allocations be fixed the cmake option
 -DWITH_PROTECT_STATEMENT_MEMROOT
can be removed and control of memory allocation made on second and
following executions can be turned on only for debug build. Before
every incorrect memory allocation be fixed it makes sense to guard
the checking of memory allocation on read only memory by extra cmake
option else we would get a lot of failing test on buildbot.

Moreover, fixing of all incorrect memory allocations could take pretty
long period of time, so for introducing the feature without necessary
to wait until all places throughout the source code be fixed it makes
sense to add the new cmake option.

08c852026d Apply clang-tidy to remove empty constructors / destructors
This patch is the result of running
run-clang-tidy -fix -header-filter=.* -checks='-*,modernize-use-equals-default' .

Code style changes have been done on top. The result of this change
leads to the following improvements:

1. Binary size reduction.
* For a -DBUILD_CONFIG=mysql_release build, the binary size is reduced by
  ~400kb.
* A raw -DCMAKE_BUILD_TYPE=Release reduces the binary size by ~1.4kb.

2. Compiler can better understand the intent of the code, thus it leads
   to more optimization possibilities. Additionally it enabled detecting
   unused variables that had an empty default constructor but not marked
   so explicitly.

   Particular change required following this patch in sql/opt_range.cc

   result_keys, an unused template class Bitmap now correctly issues
   unused variable warnings.

   Setting Bitmap template class constructor to default allows the compiler
   to identify that there are no side-effects when instantiating the class.
   Previously the compiler could not issue the warning as it assumed Bitmap
   class (being a template) would not be performing a NO-OP for its default
   constructor. This prevented the "unused variable warning".

f65ba9aeb7 MDEV-17124: mariadb 10.1.34, views and prepared statements: ERROR 1615 (HY000): Prepared statement needs to be re-prepared
The problem is that if table definition cache (TDC) is full of real tables
which are in tables cache, view definition can not stay there so will be
removed by its own underlying tables.
In situation above old mechanism of detection matching definition in PS
and current version always require reprepare and so prevent executing
the PS.

One work around is to increase TDC, other - improve version check for
views/triggers (which is done here). Now in suspicious cases we check:
 - timestamp (microseconds) of the view to be sure that version really
   have changed;
 - time (microseconds) of creation of a trigger related to time
   (microseconds) of statement preparation.

c63eab2c68 MDEV-28055: Galera ps-protocol fixes
* Fix test galera.MW-44 to make it work with --ps-protocol
* Skip test galera.MW-328C under --ps-protocol This test
  relies on wsrep_retry_autocommit, which has no effect
  under ps-protocol.
* Return WSREP related errors on COM_STMT_PREPARE commands
  Change wsrep_command_no_result() to allow sending back errors
  when a statement is prepared. For example, to handle deadlock
  error due to BF aborted transaction during prepare.
* Add sync waiting before statement prepare
  When a statement is prepared, tables used in the statement may be
  opened and checked for existence. Because of that, some tests (for
  example galera_create_table_as_select) that CREATE a table in one node
  and then SELECT from the same table in another node may result in errors
  due to non existing table.
  To make tests behave similarly under normal and PS protocol, we add a
  call to sync wait before preparing statements that would sync wait
  during normal execution.

97582f1c06 MDEV-27649 PS conflict handling causing node crash
Handling BF abort for prepared statement execution so that EXECUTE processing will continue
until parameter setup is complete, before BF abort bails out the statement execution.

THD class has new boolean member: wsrep_delayed_BF_abort, which is set if BF abort is observed
in do_command() right after reading client's packet, and if the client has sent PS execute command.
In such case, the deadlock error is not returned immediately back to client, but the PS execution
will be started. However, the PS execution loop, will now check if wsrep_delayed_BF_abort is set, and
stop the PS execution after the type information has been assigned for the PS.
With this, the PS protocol type information, which is present in the first PS EXECUTE command, is not lost
even if the first PS EXECUTE command was marked to abort.

fad1d15326 MDEV-25460: Assertion `!is_set() || (m_status == DA_OK_BULK && is_bulk_op())'
failed in Diagnostics_area::set_ok_status in my_ok from
mysql_sql_stmt_prepare

Analysis: Before PREPARE is executed, binlog_format is STATEMENT.
This PREPARE had SET STATEMENT which sets binlog_format to ROW. Now after
PREPARE is done we reset the binlog_format (back to STATEMENT). But we have
temporary table, it doesn't let changing binlog_format=ROW to
binlog_format=STATEMENT and gives error which goes unreported. This
unreported error eventually causes assertion failure.
Fix: Change return type for LEX::restore_set_statement_var() to bool and
make it return error state.

32692140e1 MDEV-27306: SET STATEMENT optimizer_trace=1 Doesn't save the trace
In mysql_execute_command(), move optimizer trace initialization to be
after run_set_statement_if_requested() call.

Unfortunately, mysql_execute_command() code uses "goto error" a lot, and
this means optimizer trace code cannot use RAII objects. Work this around
by:
- Make Opt_trace_start a non-RAII object, add init() method.
- Move the code that writes the top-level object and array into
  Opt_trace_start::init().
