my_seek: Assertion `fd != -1' failed"
In difficult optimize/repair situations the server could crash.
Under some circumstances the server retries an optimize/repair
with more elaborate options. But it did not check if the first
attempt failed so badly that a second one must not be tried.
This could happen when a new data file has been created
but it was not possible to open it. In this case the
repair leaves behind a table with closed data file.
This must not be used for another repair attempt.
We do now detect the closed data file and do not try
another repair attempt in this situation.
No test case. The required table corruption can not be
repeated easily. There is a test program attached to
bug 25433.
differences in tables
Certain merge tables were wrongly reported as having incorrect definition:
- Some fields that are 1 byte long (e.g. TINYINT, CHAR(1)), might
be internally casted (in certain cases) to a different type on a
storage engine layer. (affects 4.1 and up)
- If tables in a merge (and a MERGE table itself) had short VARCHAR column (less
than 4 bytes) and at least one (but not all) tables were ALTER'ed (even to an
identical table: ALTER TABLE xxx ENGINE=yyy), table definitions went ouf of
sync. (affects 4.1 only)
This is fixed by relaxing a check for underlying conformance and setting
field type to FIELD_TYPE_STRING in case varchar is shorter than 4
when a table is created.
When a merge table is opened compare column and key definition of
underlying tables against column and key definition of merge table.
If any of underlying tables have different column/key definition
refuse to open merge table.

- Removed not used variables and functions
- Added #ifdef around code that is not used
- Renamed variables and functions to avoid conflicts
- Removed some not used arguments
Fixed some class/struct warnings in ndb
Added define IS_LONGDATA() to simplify code in libmysql.c
I did run gcov on the changes and added 'purecov' comments on almost all lines that was not just variable name changes
(Mostly in DBUG_PRINT() and unused arguments)
Fixed bug in query cache when used with traceing (--with-debug)
Fixed memory leak in mysqldump
Removed warnings from mysqltest scripts (replaced -- with #)
Only MyISAM tables locked with LOCK TABLES ... WRITE were affected.
A query that is optimized with index_merge doesn't reflect rows
inserted within LOCK TABLES.
MyISAM doesn't flush a state within LOCK TABLES. index_merge
optimization creates a copy of the handler, which thus gets
outdated MyISAM state.
New handler->clone() method is introduced to fix this problem.
For non-MyISAM storage engines it allocates a handler and opens
it with ha_open(). For MyISAM it additionally copies MyISAM state
pointer to cloned handler.
Bug#12166 - Unable to index very large tables
Moved clearing of errors behind the second repair attempt,
but will clear only if no error happened.
No test case. The error can be repeated with little free
space on tmpdir only. I do not know of a way to create this
in a portable way with our test suite.
I did however attach a shell script to the bug report which
can easily be adapted to the situation on the test machine.
Handlerton array is now created instead of using sys_table_types_st. All storage engines can now have inits and giant ifdef's are now gone for startup. No compeltely clean yet, handlertons will next be merged with sys_table_types. Federated and archive now have real cleanup if their inits fail.
cursors. This should fix Bug#11813 when InnoDB part is in
(tested with a draft patch).
The idea of the patch is that if a storage engine supports
consistent read views, we open one when open a cursor,
set is as the active view when fetch from the cursor, and close
together with cursor close.
The idea of the patch
is that every cursor gets its own lock id for table level locking.
Thus cursors are protected from updates performed within the same
connection. Additionally a list of transient (must be closed at
commit) cursors is maintained and all transient cursors are closed
when necessary. Lastly, this patch adds support for deadlock
timeouts to TLL locking when using cursors.
+ post-review fixes.
This patch allows to configure MyISAM for 128 indexes per table.
The main problem is the key_map, wich is implemented as an ulonglong.
To get rid of the limit and keep the efficient and flexible
implementation, the highest bit is now used for all upper keys.
This means that the lower keys can be disabled and enabled
individually as usual and the high keys can only be disabled and
enabled as a block. That way the existing test suite is still
applicable, while more keys work, though slightly less efficient.
To really get more than 64 keys, some defines need to be changed.
Another patch will address this.
Ensure that 'null_value' is not accessed before val() is called in FIELD() functions
Fixed initialization of key maps. This fixes some problems with keys when you have more than 64 keys
Fixed that ROLLUP don't always create a temporary table. This fix ensures that func_gconcat.test results are now predictable
