d6f94b062c Fix for BUG#25843: changing default database between PREPARE and EXECUTE
of statement breaks binlog.

There were two problems discovered by this bug:

  1. Default (current) database is not fixed at the creation time.
That leads to wrong output of DATABASE() function.

  2. Database attributes (@@collation_database) are not fixed at
the creation time. That leads to wrong resultset.

Binlog breakage and Query Cache wrong output happened because of
the first problem.

The fix is to remember the current database at the PREPARE-time and
set it each time at EXECUTE.

Bug #27417 thd->no_trans_update.stmt lost value inside of SF-exec-stack

Once had been set the flag might later got reset inside of a stored routine
execution stack.
The reason was in that there was no check if a new statement started at time
of resetting.
The artifact affects most of binlogable DML queries. Notice, that multi-update
is wrapped up within
  bug@27716 fix, multi-delete bug@29136.

Fixed with saving parent's statement flag of whether the statement modified
non-transactional table, and unioning (merging) the value with that was gained
in mysql_execute_command.

Resettling thd->no_trans_update members into thd->transaction.`member`;
Asserting code;
Effectively the following properties are held.

1. At the end of a substatement thd->transaction.stmt.modified_non_trans_table
reflects the fact if such a table got modified by the substatement.
   That also respects THD::really_abort_on_warnin() requirements.
2. Eventually thd->transaction.stmt.modified_non_trans_table will be computed as
the union of the values of all invoked sub-statements.
   That fixes this bug#27417;

Computing of thd->transaction.all.modified_non_trans_table is refined to base to
the stmt's value for all the case including insert .. select statement which
before the patch had an extra issue bug@28960.
Minor issues are covered with mysql_load, mysql_delete, and binloggin of insert in
to temp_table select.

The supplied test verifies limitely, mostly asserts. The ultimate testing is defered
for bug@13270, bug@23333.

8de5603d1d Bug#24989: The DEADLOCK error is improperly handled by InnoDB.
When innodb detects a deadlock it calls ha_rollback_trans() to rollback the
main transaction. But such action isn't allowed from inside of triggers and
functions. When it happen the 'Explicit or implicit commit' error is thrown
even if there is no commit/rollback statements in the trigger/function. This
leads to the user confusion.

Now the convert_error_code_to_mysql() function doesn't call the
ha_rollback_trans() function directly but rather calls the
mark_transaction_to_rollback function and returns an error.
The sp_rcontext::find_handler() now doesn't allow errors to be caught by the
trigger/function error handlers when the thd->is_fatal_sub_stmt_error flag
is set. Procedures are still allowed to catch such errors.
The sp_rcontext::find_handler function now accepts a THD handle as a parameter.
The transaction_rollback_request and the is_fatal_sub_stmt_error flags are
added to the THD class. The are initialized by the THD class constructor.
Now the ha_autocommit_or_rollback function rolls back main transaction
when not in a sub statement and the thd->transaction_rollback_request
is set.
The THD::restore_sub_statement_state function now resets the
thd->is_fatal_sub_stmt_error flag on exit from a sub-statement.

c5608c9db2 BUG#29734 - thread_id=0 in binary log which leads to temporary table conflicts
pseudo_thread_id was reset to zero via mysql_change_user() handling
whereas there is no reason to do that. Moreover, having two
concurrent threads that change user and create a namesake temp tables
leads to recording the dup pair of queries:

   set @@session.pseudo_thread_id = 0;
   CREATE temporary table `the namesake`;

which will stall the slave as the second instance can not be created.
And that is the bug case.

Fixed by correcting pseudo_thread_id value after mysql_change_user().

c33f4d3d85 Fixed bug #29442.
The SELECT INTO OUTFILE FIELDS ENCLOSED BY digit or minus sign,
followed by the same LOAD DATA INFILE statement, used wrond encoding
of non-string fields contained the enclosed character in their text
representation.

Example:
  SELECT 15, 9 INTO OUTFILE 'text' FIELDS ENCLOSED BY '5';

Old encoded result in the text file:
  5155 595
         ^ was decoded as the 1st enclosing character of the 2nd field;
        ^ was skipped as garbage;
  ^    ^ was decoded as a pair of englosing characters of the 1st field;
      ^   was decoded as traling space of the first field;
^^ was decoded as a doubled enclosed character.

New encoded result in the text file:
  51\55 595
  ^   ^ pair of enclosing characters of the 1st field;
    ^^ escaped enclosed character.

dbe4fb94ca Fixed bug #29294.
The `SELECT 'r' INTO OUTFILE ... FIELDS ENCLOSED BY 'r' ' statement
encoded the 'r' string to a 4 byte string of value x'725c7272'
(sequence of 4 characters: r\rr).
The LOAD DATA statement decoded this string to a 1 byte string of
value x'0d' (ASCII Carriage Return character) instead of the original
'r' character.
The same error also happened with the FIELDS ENCLOSED BY clause
followed by special characters: 'n', 't', 'r', 'b', '0', 'Z' and 'N'.

NOTE 1: This is a result of the undocumented feature: the LOAD DATA INFILE
recognises 2-byte input sequences like \n, \t, \r and \Z in addition
to documented 2-byte sequences: \0 and \N. This feature should be
documented (here backspace character is a default ESCAPED BY character,
in the real-life example it may be any ESCAPED BY character).

NOTE 2, changed behaviour:
Now the `SELECT INTO OUTFILE' statement with the `FIELDS ENCLOSED BY'
clause followed by one of: 'n', 't', 'r', 'b', '0', 'Z' or 'N' characters
encodes this special character itself by doubling it ('r' --> 'rr'),
not by prepending it with an escape character.

bef15b279b Bug #26418: Slave out of sync after
CREATE/DROP TEMPORARY TABLE + ROLLBACK on master

The transaction ability of the storage engines of
the tables on the replication master and the replication
slave must generally be the same.
When the storage engine type of the slave is
non-transactional then transactions on the master that
mix update of transactional and non-transactional tables
should be avoided because they will cause inconsistency of
the data between the master's transactional table and the
slave's non-transactional table.

The effect described by this bug is actually expected.
A detailed test case is added (to be merged later to
the updated rpl_ddl.test), as there was no coverage
by the existing tests.
Some code cleanup is also added by this change.

mysql_prepare_table, mysql_create_table and mysql_alter_table are not
re-execution friendly: during their operation they modify contents
of LEX (members create_info, alter_info, key_list, create_list),
thus making the LEX unusable for the next execution.
In particular, these functions removed processed columns and keys from
create_list, key_list and drop_list. Search the code in sql_table.cc
for drop_it.remove() and similar patterns to find evidence.

The fix is to supply to these functions a usable copy of each of the
above structures at every re-execution of an SQL statement.

To simplify memory management, LEX::key_list and LEX::create_list
were added to LEX::alter_info, a fresh copy of which is created for
every execution.

The problem of crashing bug 22060 stemmed from the fact that the above
metnioned functions were not only modifying HA_CREATE_INFO structure
in LEX, but also were changing it to point to areas in volatile memory
of the execution memory root.

The patch solves this problem by creating and using an on-stack
copy of HA_CREATE_INFO in mysql_execute_command.

Additionally, this patch splits the part of mysql_alter_table
that analizes and rewrites information from the parser into
a separate function - mysql_prepare_alter_table, in analogy with
mysql_prepare_table, which is renamed to mysql_prepare_create_table.

088e2395f1 WL#3817: Simplify string / memory area types and make things more consistent (first part)
The following type conversions was done:

- Changed byte to uchar
- Changed gptr to uchar*
- Change my_string to char *
- Change my_size_t to size_t
- Change size_s to size_t

Removed declaration of byte, gptr, my_string, my_size_t and size_s.

Following function parameter changes was done:
- All string functions in mysys/strings was changed to use size_t
instead of uint for string lengths.
- All read()/write() functions changed to use size_t (including vio).
- All protocoll functions changed to use size_t instead of uint
- Functions that used a pointer to a string length was changed to use size_t*
- Changed malloc(), free() and related functions from using gptr to use void *
as this requires fewer casts in the code and is more in line with how the
  standard functions work.
- Added extra length argument to dirname_part() to return the length of the
  created string.
- Changed (at least) following functions to take uchar* as argument:
  - db_dump()
  - my_net_write()
  - net_write_command()
  - net_store_data()
  - DBUG_DUMP()
  - decimal2bin() & bin2decimal()
- Changed my_compress() and my_uncompress() to use size_t. Changed one
argument to my_uncompress() from a pointer to a value as we only return
one value (makes function easier to use).
- Changed type of 'pack_data' argument to packfrm() to avoid casts.
- Changed in readfrm() and writefrom(), ha_discover and handler::discover()
the type for argument 'frmdata' to uchar** to avoid casts.
- Changed most Field functions to use uchar* instead of char* (reduced a lot of
  casts).
- Changed field->val_xxx(xxx, new_ptr) to take const pointers.

Other changes:
- Removed a lot of not needed casts
- Added a few new cast required by other changes
- Added some cast to my_multi_malloc() arguments for safety (as string lengths
needs to be uint, not size_t).
- Fixed all calls to hash-get-key functions to use size_t*. (Needed to be done
explicitely as this conflict was often hided by casting the function to
  hash_get_key).
- Changed some buffers to memory regions to uchar* to avoid casts.
- Changed some string lengths from uint to size_t.
- Changed field->ptr to be uchar* instead of char*. This allowed us to
get rid of a lot of casts.
- Some changes from true -> TRUE, false -> FALSE, unsigned char -> uchar
- Include zlib.h in some files as we needed declaration of crc32()
- Changed MY_FILE_ERROR to be (size_t) -1.
- Changed many variables to hold the result of my_read() / my_write() to be
size_t. This was needed to properly detect errors (which are
  returned as (size_t) -1).
- Removed some very old VMS code
- Changed packfrm()/unpackfrm() to not be depending on uint size
  (portability fix)
- Removed windows specific code to restore cursor position as this
causes slowdown on windows and we should not mix read() and pread()
calls anyway as this is not thread safe. Updated function comment to
reflect this. Changed function that depended on original behavior of
my_pwrite() to itself restore the cursor position (one such case).
- Added some missing checking of return value of malloc().
- Changed definition of MOD_PAD_CHAR_TO_FULL_LENGTH to avoid 'long' overflow.
- Changed type of table_def::m_size from my_size_t to ulong to reflect that
m_size is the number of elements in the array, not a string/memory
  length.
- Moved THD::max_row_length() to table.cc (as it's not depending on THD).
  Inlined max_row_length_blob() into this function.
- More function comments
- Fixed some compiler warnings when compiled without partitions.
- Removed setting of LEX_STRING() arguments in declaration (portability fix).
- Some trivial indentation/variable name changes.
- Some trivial code simplifications:
  - Replaced some calls to alloc_root + memcpy to use
    strmake_root()/strdup_root().
  - Changed some calls from memdup() to strmake() (Safety fix)
  - Simpler loops in client-simple.c

fc809c70cc Bug#25411 (trigger code truncated), PART I
The issue found with bug 25411 is due to the function skip_rear_comments()
which damages the source code while implementing a work around.
The root cause of the problem is in the lexical analyser, which does not
process special comments properly.
For special comments like :
[1] aaa /*!50000 bbb */ ccc
since 5.0 is a version older that the current code, the parser is in lining
the content of the special comment, so that the query to process is
[2] aaa bbb ccc
However, the text of the query captured when processing a stored procedure,
stored function or trigger (or event in 5.1), can be after rebuilding it:
[3] aaa bbb */ ccc
which is wrong.

To fix bug 25411 properly, the lexical analyser needs to return [2] when
in lining special comments.
In order to implement this, some preliminary cleanup is required in the code,
which is implemented by this patch.

Before this change, the structure named LEX (or st_lex) contains attributes
that belong to lexical analysis, as well as attributes that represents the
abstract syntax tree (AST) of a statement.
Creating a new LEX structure for each statements (which makes sense for the
AST part) also re-initialized the lexical analysis phase each time, which
is conceptually wrong.

With this patch, the previous st_lex structure has been split in two:
- st_lex represents the Abstract Syntax Tree for a statement. The name "lex"
has not been changed to avoid a bigger impact in the code base.
- class lex_input_stream represents the internal state of the lexical
analyser, which by definition should *not* be reinitialized when parsing
multiple statements from the same input stream.

This change is a pre-requisite for bug 25411, since the implementation of
lex_input_stream will later improve to deal properly with special comments,
and this processing can not be done with the current implementation of
sp_head::reset_lex and sp_head::restore_lex, which interfere with the lexer.

This change set alone does not fix bug 25411.

11fc24ef24 BUG#25688 (RBR: circular replication may cause STMT_END_F flags to be
skipped):

By moving statement end actions from Rows_log_event::do_apply_event() to
Rows_log_event::do_update_pos() they will always be executed, even if
Rows_log_event::do_apply_event() is skipped because the event originated
at the same server. This because Rows_log_event::do_update_pos() is always
executed (unless Rows_log_event::do_apply_event() failed with an error,
in which case the slave stops with an error anyway).

Adding test case.

Fixing logic to detect if inside a group. If a rotate event occured
when an initial prefix of events for a statement, but for which the
table did contain a key, last_event_start_time is set to zero, causing
rotate to end the group but without unlocking any tables. This left a
lock hanging around, which subsequently triggered an assertion when a
second attempt was made to lock the same sequence of tables.

In order to solve the above problem, a new flag was added to the relay
log info structure that is used to indicate that the replication thread
is currently executing a statement. Using this flag, the replication
thread is in a group if it is either in a statement or inside a trans-
action.

The patch also eliminates some gratuitous header file inclusions that
were not needed (and caused compile errors) and replaced them with
forward definitions.

When rand() is called multiple times inside a stored procedure, the server does
not binlog the correct random seed values.

This patch corrects the problem by resetting rand_used= 0 in
THD::cleanup_after_query() allowing the system to save the random seeds if needed
for each command in a stored procedure body.

However, rand_used is not reset if executing in a stored function or trigger
because these operations are binlogged by call and thus only the calling statement
need detect the call to rand() made by its substatements. These substatements must
not set rand_used to 0 because it would remove the detection of rand() by the
calling statement.

86f02cd378 A fix for Bug#26750 "valgrind leak in sp_head" (and post-review
fixes).

The legend: on a replication slave, in case a trigger creation
was filtered out because of application of replicate-do-table/
replicate-ignore-table rule, the parsed definition of a trigger was not
cleaned up properly. LEX::sphead member was left around and leaked
memory. Until the actual implementation of support of
replicate-ignore-table rules for triggers by the patch for Bug 24478 it
was never the case that "case SQLCOM_CREATE_TRIGGER"
was not executed once a trigger was parsed,
so the deletion of lex->sphead there worked and the memory did not leak.

The fix:

The real cause of the bug is that there is no 1 or 2 places where
we can clean up the main LEX after parse. And the reason we
can not have just one or two places where we clean up the LEX is
asymmetric behaviour of MYSQLparse in case of success or error.

One of the root causes of this behaviour is the code in Item::Item()
constructor. There, a newly created item adds itself to THD::free_list
- a single-linked list of Items used in a statement. Yuck. This code
is unaware that we may have more than one statement active at a time,
and always assumes that the free_list of the current statement is
located in THD::free_list. One day we need to be able to explicitly
allocate an item in a given Query_arena.
Thus, when parsing a definition of a stored procedure, like
CREATE PROCEDURE p1() BEGIN SELECT a FROM t1; SELECT b FROM t1; END;
we actually need to reset THD::mem_root, THD::free_list and THD::lex
to parse the nested procedure statement (SELECT *).
The actual reset and restore is implemented in semantic actions
attached to sp_proc_stmt grammar rule.
The problem is that in case of a parsing error inside a nested statement
Bison generated parser would abort immediately, without executing the
restore part of the semantic action. This would leave THD in an
in-the-middle-of-parsing state.
This is why we couldn't have had a single place where we clean up the LEX
after MYSQLparse - in case of an error we needed to do a clean up
immediately, in case of success a clean up could have been delayed.
This left the door open for a memory leak.

One of the following possibilities were considered when working on a fix:
- patch the replication logic to do the clean up. Rejected
as breaks module borders, replication code should not need to know the
gory details of clean up procedure after CREATE TRIGGER.
- wrap MYSQLparse with a function that would do a clean up.
Rejected as ideally we should fix the problem when it happens, not
adjust for it outside of the problematic code.
- make sure MYSQLparse cleans up after itself by invoking the clean up
functionality in the appropriate places before return. Implemented in
this patch.
- use %destructor rule for sp_proc_stmt to restore THD - cleaner
than the prevoius approach, but rejected
because needs a careful analysis of the side effects, and this patch is
for 5.0, and long term we need to use the next alternative anyway
- make sure that sp_proc_stmt doesn't juggle with THD - this is a
large work that will affect many modules.

Cleanup: move main_lex and main_mem_root from Statement to its
only two descendants Prepared_statement and THD. This ensures that
when a Statement instance was created for purposes of statement backup,
we do not involve LEX constructor/destructor, which is fairly expensive.
In order to track that the transformation produces equivalent
functionality please check the respective constructors and destructors
of Statement, Prepared_statement and THD - these members were
used only there.
This cleanup is unrelated to the patch.

Bug 22580 (DROP TABLE in nested stored procedure causes strange dependency
  error)
Bug 25345 (Cursors from Functions)

This fix resolves a long standing issue originally reported with bug 8407,
which affect the behavior of Stored Procedures, Stored Functions and Trigger
in many different ways, causing symptoms reported by all the bugs listed.
In all cases, the root cause of the problem traces back to 8407 and how the
server locks tables involved with sub statements.

Prior to this fix, the implementation of stored routines would:
- compute the transitive closure of all the tables referenced by a top level
statement
- open and lock all the tables involved
- execute the top level statement
"transitive closure of tables" means collecting:
- all the tables,
- all the stored functions,
- all the views,
- all the table triggers
- all the stored procedures
involved, and recursively inspect these objects definition to find more
references to more objects, until the list of every object referenced does
not grow any more.
This mechanism is known as "pre-locking" tables before execution.
The motivation for locking all the tables (possibly) used at once is to
prevent dead locks.

One problem with this approach is that, if the execution path the code
really takes during runtime does not use a given table, and if the table is
missing, the server would not execute the statement.
This in particular has a major impact on triggers, since a missing table
referenced by an update/delete trigger would prevent an insert trigger to run.

Another problem is that stored routines might define SQL exception handlers
to deal with missing tables, but the server implementation would never give
user code a chance to execute this logic, since the routine is never
executed when a missing table cause the pre-locking code to fail.

With this fix, the internal implementation of the pre-locking code has been
relaxed of some constraints, so that failure to open a table does not
necessarily prevent execution of a stored routine.

In particular, the pre-locking mechanism is now behaving as follows:

1) the first step, to compute the transitive closure of all the tables
possibly referenced by a statement, is unchanged.

2) the next step, which is to open all the tables involved, only attempts
to open the tables added by the pre-locking code, but silently fails without
reporting any error or invoking any exception handler is the table is not
present. This is achieved by trapping internal errors with
Prelock_error_handler

3) the locking step only locks tables that were successfully opened.

4) when executing sub statements, the list of tables used by each statements
is evaluated as before. The tables needed by the sub statement are expected
to be already opened and locked. Statement referencing tables that were not
opened in step 2) will fail to find the table in the open list, and only at
this point will execution of the user code fail.

5) when a runtime exception is raised at 4), the instruction continuation
destination (the next instruction to execute in case of SQL continue
handlers) is evaluated.
This is achieved with sp_instr::exec_open_and_lock_tables()

6) if a user exception handler is present in the stored routine, that
handler is invoked as usual, so that ER_NO_SUCH_TABLE exceptions can be
trapped by stored routines. If no handler exists, then the runtime execution
will fail as expected.

With all these changes, a side effect is that view security is impacted, in
two different ways.

First, a view defined as "select stored_function()", where the stored
function references a table that may not exist, is considered valid.
The rationale is that, because the stored function might trap exceptions
during execution and still return a valid result, there is no way to decide
when the view is created if a missing table really cause the view to be invalid.

Secondly, testing for existence of tables is now done later during
execution. View security, which consist of trapping errors and return a
generic ER_VIEW_INVALID (to prevent disclosing information) was only
implemented at very specific phases covering *opening* tables, but not
covering the runtime execution. Because of this existing limitation,
errors that were previously trapped and converted into ER_VIEW_INVALID are
not trapped, causing table names to be reported to the user.
This change is exposing an existing problem, which is independent and will
be resolved separately.

d7e4de9937 BUG#20141 "User-defined variables are not replicated properly for

BUG#14914 "SP: Uses of session variables in routines are not always replicated"
BUG#25167 "Dupl. usage of user-variables in trigger/function is not replicated
          correctly"

User-defined variables used inside of stored functions/triggers in
statements which did not update tables directly were not replicated.
We also had problems with replication of user-defined variables which
were used in triggers (or stored functions called from table-updating
statements) more than once.

This patch addresses the first issue by enabling logging of all
references to user-defined variables in triggers/stored functions
and not only references from table-updating statements.

The second issue stemmed from the fact that for user-defined
variables used from triggers or stored functions called from
table-updating statements we were writing binlog events for each
reference instead of only one event for the first reference.
This problem is already solved for stored functions called from
non-updating statements with help of "event unioning" mechanism.
So the patch simply extends this mechanism to the case affected.
It also fixes small problem in this mechanism which caused wrong
logging of references to user-variables in cases when non-updating
statement called several stored functions which used the same
variable and some of these function calls were omitted from binlog
as they were not updating any tables.

Bug#24795: SHOW PROFILE

Profiling is only partially functional on some architectures. Where
there is no getrusage() system call, presently Null values are
returned where it would be required. Notably, Windows needs some love
applied to make it as useful.

  Syntax this adds:

  SHOW PROFILES

SHOW PROFILE [types] [FOR QUERY n] [OFFSET n] [LIMIT n]
   where "n" is an integer
and "types" is zero or many (comma-separated) of
      "CPU"
      "MEMORY" (not presently supported)
      "BLOCK IO"
      "CONTEXT SWITCHES"
      "PAGE FAULTS"
      "IPC"
      "SWAPS"
      "SOURCE"
      "ALL"

It also adds a session variable (boolean) "profiling", set to "no"
by default, and (integer) profiling_history_size, set to 15 by
default.

This patch abstracts setting THDs' "proc_info" behind a macro that
can be used as a hook into the profiling code when profiling
support is compiled in. All future code in this line should use
that mechanism for setting thd->proc_info.

slave will not be able to read the new events.

be389f62de Mechanical class renaming:
Protocol_simple->Protocol_text; Protocol_prep->Protocol_binary
and also THD::protocol_simple->THD::protocol_text,
THD::protocol_prep->THD::protocol_binary.
Reason: the binary protocol is not bound to be used only with
prepared statements long term (see WL#3559 "Decouple binary protocol
from prepared statements"). Renaming now is pressing because
the fix for BUG#735 "Prepared Statements: there is
no support for Query Cache" will introduce a new member
in class Query_cache_flags telling about the protocol's nature.
Other reason: "simple" is less accurate than "text".
Future patches for BUG#735 will rely on this cset.

761a88ee0d Bug#20836 Selecting into variables results in wrong results being returned
This error is displayed anytime the SELECT statement needs a temp table to
return correct results because the object (select_dumpvar) that represents
variables named in the INTO clause stored the results before the temp
table was considered. The problem was fixed by creating the necessary
Item_func_set_user_var objects once the correct data is ready.

- As a sideeffect of the patch to generate lex_hash.h only once

would crash when looking up the lex symbols due to mismatch between
lex.h and the generated lex_hash.h

8798b462b5 Fix for the patch for bug#21726: Incorrect result with multiple
invocations of LAST_INSERT_ID.

Reding of LAST_INSERT_ID inside stored function wasn't noted by caller,
and no LAST_INSERT_ID_EVENT was issued for binary log.

The solution is to add THD::last_insert_id_used_bin_log, which is much
like THD::last_insert_id_used, but is reset only for upper-level
statements. This new variable is used to issue LAST_INSERT_ID_EVENT.

5ea8adfae7 BUG#21726: Incorrect result with multiple invocations of LAST_INSERT_ID
Non-upper-level INSERTs (the ones in the body of stored procedure,
stored function, or trigger) into a table that have AUTO_INCREMENT
column didn't affected the result of LAST_INSERT_ID() on this level.

The problem was introduced with the fix of bug 6880, which in turn was
introduced with the fix of bug 3117, where current insert_id value was
remembered on the first call to LAST_INSERT_ID() (bug 3117) and was
returned from that function until it was reset before the next
_upper-level_ statement (bug 6880).

The fix for bug#21726 brings back the behaviour of version 4.0, and
implements the following: remember insert_id value at the beginning
of the statement or expression (which at that point equals to
the first insert_id value generated by the previous statement), and
return that remembered value from LAST_INSERT_ID() or @@LAST_INSERT_ID.

Thus, the value returned by LAST_INSERT_ID() is not affected by values
generated by current statement, nor by LAST_INSERT_ID(expr) calls in
this statement.

Version 5.1 does not have this bug (it was fixed by WL 3146).

f17a536e09 Fixed bug#16861: User defined variable can have a wrong value if a tmp table was
used.

Sorting by RAND() uses a temporary table in order to get a correct results.
User defined variable was set during filling the temporary table and later
on it is substituted for its value from the temporary table. Due to this
it contains the last value stored in the temporary table.

Now if the result_field is set for the Item_func_set_user_var object it
updates variable from the result_field value when being sent to a client.

The Item_func_set_user_var::check() now accepts a use_result_field
parameter. Depending on its value the result_field or the args[0] is used
to get current value.

0f0ddc398a BUG#21051: RESET QUERY CACHE very slow when query_cache_type=0
There were two problems: RESET QUERY CACHE took a long time to complete
and other threads were blocked during this time.

The patch does three things:
1 fixes a bug with improper use of test-lock-test_again technique.
AKA Double-Checked Locking is applicable here only in few places.
2 Somewhat improves performance of RESET QUERY CACHE.
Do my_hash_reset() instead of deleting elements one by one. Note
however that the slowdown also happens when inserting into sorted
list of free blocks, should be rewritten using balanced tree.
3 Makes RESET QUERY CACHE non-blocking.
The patch adjusts the locking protocol of the query cache in the
following way: it introduces a flag flush_in_progress, which is
set when Query_cache::flush_cache() is in progress. This call
sets the flag on enter, and then releases the lock. Every other
call is able to acquire the lock, but does nothing if
flush_in_progress is set (as if the query cache is disabled).
The only exception is the concurrent calls to
Query_cache::flush_cache(), that are blocked until the flush is
over. When leaving Query_cache::flush_cache(), the lock is
acquired and the flag is reset, and one thread waiting on
Query_cache::flush_cache() (if any) is notified that it may
      proceed.

f22a4ce1a1 A fix and a test case for Bug#21002 "Derived table not selecting from a
"real" table fails in JOINs".

This is a regression caused by the fix for Bug 18444.
This fix removed the assignment of empty_c_string to table->db performed
in add_table_to_list, as neither me nor anyone else knew what it was
there for. Now we know it and it's covered with tests: the only case
when a table database name can be empty is when the table is a derived
table. The fix puts the assignment back but makes it a bit more explicit.

Additionally, finally drop sp.result.orig which was checked in by mistake.

1cc3c80070 fixes after merge. Updates to test's results.
We now reset the THD members related to auto_increment+binlog in
MYSQL_LOG::write(). This is better than in THD::cleanup_after_query(),
which was not able to distinguish between SELECT myfunc1(),myfunc2()
and INSERT INTO t SELECT myfunc1(),myfunc2() from a binlogging point
of view.
Rows_log_event::exec_event() now calls lex_start() instead of
mysql_init_query() because the latter now does too much (it resets
the binlog format).
