BOGUS "THE TABLE MYSQL.PROC IS MISSING,..."
There was a race condition between loading a stored routine
(function/procedure/trigger) specified by fully qualified name
SCHEMA_NAME.PROC_NAME and dropping the stored routine database.
The problem was that there is a window for race condition when one server
thread tries to load a stored routine being executed and the other thread
tries to drop the stored routine schema.
This condition race window exists in implementation of function
mysql_change_db() called by db_load_routine() during loading of stored
routine to cache. Function mysql_change_db() calls check_db_dir_existence()
that might failed because specified database was dropped during concurrent
execution of DROP SCHEMA statement. db_load_routine() calls mysql_change_db()
with flag 'force_switch' set to 'true' value so when referenced db is not found
then my_error() is not called and function mysql_change_db() returns ok.
This shadows information about schema opening error in db_load_routine().
Then db_load_routine() makes attempt to parse stored routine that is failed.
This makes to return error to sp_cache_routines_and_add_tables_aux() but since
during error generation a call to my_error wasn't made and hence
THD::main_da wasn't set we set the generic "mysql.proc table corrupt" error
when running sp_cache_routines_and_add_tables_aux().
The fix is to install an error handler inside db_load_routine() for
the mysql_op_change_db() call, and check later if the ER_BAD_DB_ERROR
was caught.

DROP/CREATE SCHEMA, CREATE TABLE, REPAIR.
The cause of assert was concurrent execution of
DROP DATABASE and REPAIR TABLE where first statement
deleted table's file .TMD at the same time as
REPAIR TABLE tried to read file details from the old file
that was just removed.
Additionally was fixed trouble when DROP TABLE try delete
all files belong to table being dropped at the same time
when REPAIR TABLE statement has just deleted .TMD file.
No regression test added because this would require adding a
sync point to mysys/my_redel.c. Since this bug is not present in
5.5+, adding test coverage was considered unnecessary.
The patch has been verified using RQG testing.

algorithm permits skip already deleted (in another thread)

Installation of Drop_table_error_handler as internal error handler

data dictionary confusion
On file systems with case insensitive file names, and
lower_case_table_names set to '2', the server could crash
due to a table definition cache inconsistency. This is
the default setting on MacOSX, but may also be set and
used on MS Windows.
The bug is caused by using two different strategies for
creating the hash key for the table definition cache, resulting
in failure to look up an entry which is present in the cache,
or failure to delete an existing entry. One strategy was to
use the real table name (with case preserved), and the other
to use a normalized table name (i.e a lower case version).
This is manifested in two cases. One is during 'DROP DATABASE',
where all known files are removed. The removal from
the table definition cache is done via a generated list of
TABLE_LIST with keys (wrongly) created using the case preserved
name. The other is during CREATE TABLE, where the cache lookup
is also (wrongly) based on the case preserved name.
The fix was to use only the normalized table name when
creating hash keys.

This deadlock happened if DROP DATABASE was blocked due to an open
HANDLER table from a different connection. While DROP DATABASE
is blocked, it holds the LOCK_mysql_create_db mutex. This results
in a deadlock if the connection with the open HANDLER table tries
to execute a CREATE/ALTER/DROP DATABASE statement as they all
try to acquire LOCK_mysql_create_db.
This patch makes this deadlock scenario very unlikely by closing and
marking for re-open all HANDLER tables for which there are pending
conflicing locks, before LOCK_mysql_create_db is acquired.
However, there is still a very slight possibility that a connection
could access one of these HANDLER tables between closing/marking for
re-open and the acquisition of LOCK_mysql_create_db.
This patch is for 5.1 only, a separate and complete fix will be
made for 5.5+.

There are three issues that caused rpl_killed_ddl fails sporadically
in pb2:
1) thd->clear_error() was not called before create Query event
if operation is executed successfully.
2) DATABASE d2 might do exist because the statement to CREATE or
ALTER it was killed
3) because of bug 43353, kill the query that do DROP FUNCTION or
DROP PROCEDURE can result in SP not found
This patch fixed all above issues by:
1) Called thd->clear_error() if the operation succeeded.
2) Add IF EXISTS to the DROP DATABASE d2 statement
3) Temporarily disabled testing DROP FUNCTION/PROCEDURE IF EXISTS.

Implemented the server infrastructure for the fix:
1. Added a function LEX_STRING *thd_query_string(THD) to return
a LEX_STRING structure instead of char *.
This is the function that must be called in innodb instead of
thd_query()
2. Did some encapsulation in THD : aggregated thd_query and
thd_query_length into a LEX_STRING and made accessor and mutator
methods for easy code updating.
3. Updated the server code to use the new methods where applicable.

There is an inconsistency with DROP DATABASE|TABLE|EVENT IF EXISTS and
CREATE DATABASE|TABLE|EVENT IF NOT EXISTS. DROP IF EXISTS statements are
binlogged even if either the DB, TABLE or EVENT does not exist. In
contrast, Only the CREATE EVENT IF NOT EXISTS is binlogged when the EVENT
exists.
This patch fixes the following cases for all the replication formats:

When the thread executing a DDL was killed after finished its
execution but before writing the binlog event, the error code in
the binlog event could be set wrongly to ER_SERVER_SHUTDOWN or
ER_QUERY_INTERRUPTED.
This patch fixed the problem by ignoring the kill status when
constructing the event for DDL statements.
This patch also included the following changes in order to
provide the test case.
1) modified mysqltest to support variable for connection command
2) modified mysql-test-run.pl, add new variable MYSQL_SLAVE to
run mysql client against the slave mysqld.

missing after downgrade
Obsolete arc/ directory and view .frm file backup support
has been removed by the patch for bug 17823. However, that
bugfix caused a problem with "live downgrades" of the
server: if we rename some view 4 times under 5.1.29/5.0.72
and then try to rename it under 5.1.28/5.0.70 on the same
database, the server fails with a error:
query 'RENAME TABLE ... TO ...' failed: 6: Error on
delete of '....frm-0001' (Errcode: 2)
Also .frm file of that view may be lost (renamed to .frm~).
The server failed because it tried to rename latest 3
backup .frm files renaming the view: the server used an
integer value of the "revision" field of .frm file to
extract those file names. After the fix for bug 17823 those
files were not created/maintained any more, however the
"revision" field was incremented as usual. So, the server
failed renaming non existent files.
This fix solves the problem by removing the support for
"revision" .frm file field:
1. New server silently ignores existent "revision" fields
in old .frm files and never write it down;
2. Old server assumes, that missing "revision" field in new
.frm files means default value of 0.
3. Accordingly to the fix for bug 17823 the new server
drops arc/ directory on alter/rename view, so after
"live downgrade" old server begins maintenance of the
arc/ directory from scratch without conflicts with .frm
files.

1. The mysql_create_view function code is used for both
CREATE VIEW and ALTER queries, but query cache is
necessary for ALTER command only. Check for a non first
view revision has been replaced with a direct check for
ALTER query.

been removed.
4. sql_create_definition_file and rename_in_schema_file

TABLE_LIST: the revision field has been removed.
Server created "arc" directories inside database directories and
maintained there useless copies of .frm files.
Creation and renaming procedures of those copies as well as
creation of "arc" directories has been discontinued.
Removal procedure has been kept untouched to be able to
cleanup existent database directories by the DROP DATABASE
query. Also view renaming procedure has been updated to remove
these directories.

When executing a DROP DATABASE statement in ROW mode and having temporary
tables open at the same time, the existance of temporary tables prevent
the server from switching back to row mode after temporarily switching to
statement mode to handle the logging of the statement.
Fixed the problem by removing the code to switch to statement mode and added
code to temporarily disable the binary log while dropping the objects in the
database.

The event scheduler was not designed to work in embedded mode. This
patch disables and excludes the event scheduler when the server is
compiled for embedded build.
