b0e84cb999 BUG#5390 - problems with merge tables
Problem #1: INSERT...SELECT, Version for 5.0.
Extended the unique table check by a check of lock data.
Merge sub-tables cannot be detected by doing name checks only.

e42c980967 Table definition cache, part 2
The table opening process now works the following way:
- Create common TABLE_SHARE object
- Read the .frm file and unpack it into the TABLE_SHARE object
- Create a TABLE object based on the information in the TABLE_SHARE
object and open a handler to the table object

Other noteworthy changes:
- In TABLE_SHARE the most common strings are now LEX_STRING's
- Better error message when table is not found
- Variable table_cache is now renamed 'table_open_cache'
- New variable 'table_definition_cache' that is the number of table defintions that will be cached
- strxnmov() calls are now fixed to avoid overflows
- strxnmov() will now always add one end \0 to result
- engine objects are now created with a TABLE_SHARE object instead of a TABLE object.
- After creating a field object one must call field->init(table) before using it

- For a busy system this change will give you:
 - Less memory usage for table object
 - Faster opening of tables (if it's has been in use or is in table definition cache)
 - Allow you to cache many table definitions objects
 - Faster drop of table

a247282aa6 Implementation of WL#2486 -
"Process NATURAL and USING joins according to SQL:2003".

* Some of the main problems fixed by the patch:
  - in "select *" queries the * expanded correctly according to
    ANSI for arbitrary natural/using joins
  - natural/using joins are correctly transformed into JOIN ... ON
for any number/nesting of the joins.
  - column references are correctly resolved against natural joins
of any nesting and combined with arbitrary other joins.

* This patch also contains a fix for name resolution of items
inside the ON condition of JOIN ... ON - in this case items must
be resolved only against the JOIN operands. To support such
'local' name resolution, the patch introduces a stack of
name resolution contexts used at parse time.

NOTICE:
- This patch is not complete in the sense that
  - there are 2 test cases that still do not pass -
one in join.test, one in select.test. Both are marked
    with a comment "TODO: WL#2486".
  - it does not include a new test specific for the task

007a205918 Fix for bugs:
#5860 "Multi-table UPDATE does not activate update triggers"
#6812 "Triggers are not activated for INSERT ... SELECT"
#8755 "Trigger is not activated by LOAD DATA".
This patch also implements proper handling of triggers for special forms
of insert like REPLACE or INSERT ... ON DUPLICATE KEY UPDATE.
Also now we don't call after trigger in case when we have failed to
inserted/update or delete row. Trigger failure should stop statement
execution.

I have not properly tested handling of errors which happen inside of
triggers in this patch, since it is simplier to do this once we will be
able to access tables from triggers.

ead47f4701 WWe now store the catalog in Query_log_event in binlog WITHOUT its end zero.
This saves one byte per Query_log_event on disk compared to 5.0.[0..3]. Compatibility problems with 5.0.x where x<4
are explained in the comments in log_event.cc. Putting back s/my_open(O_TRUNC)/(my_delete+my_create) change which had
been wiped away by somebody doing a wrong 4.1->5.0 merge (which happened just
before 5.0.3 :( ). Applying it to new events for LOAD DATA INFILE.
If slave fails in Execute_load_query_log_event::exec_event(),
don't delete the file (so that it's re-usable at next START SLAVE).
And (youpi!) fix for BUG#3247 "a partially completed LOAD DATA INFILE is not
executed at all on the slave" (storing an Execute_load_query_log_event
to binlog, with its error code, instead of Delete_file_log_event).

3da06a5500 Fixed behavior of LOAD DATA with subqueries in SET clause.
The idea is to use TABLE_LIST::lock_type for passing type of lock for
target table to mysql_load() instead of using LEX::lock_option
(which were rewritten by first subselect in SET clause).

This should also fix potential problem with LOAD DATA in SP
(it is important for them to have right lock_type in the table
list by the end of statement parsing).

f169114042 WL#874 "Extended LOAD DATA".
Now one can use user variables as target for data loaded from file
(besides table's columns). Also LOAD DATA got new SET-clause in which
one can specify values for table columns as expressions.

For example the following is possible:
LOAD DATA INFILE 'words.dat' INTO TABLE t1 (a, @b) SET c = @b + 1;

This patch also implements new way of replicating LOAD DATA.
Now we do it similarly to other queries.
We store LOAD DATA query in new Execute_load_query event
(which is last in the sequence of events representing LOAD DATA).
When we are executing this event we simply rewrite part of query which
holds name of file (we use name of temporary file) and then execute it
as usual query. In the beggining of this sequence we use Begin_load_query
event which is almost identical to Append_file event

2511990c97 Support for TIMESTAMP columns holding NULL values. Unlike all other
column types TIMESTAMP is NOT NULL by default, so in order to have
TIMESTAMP column holding NULL valaues you have to specify NULL as
one of its attributes (this needed for backward compatibility).

Main changes:
Replaced TABLE::timestamp_default_now/on_update_now members with
TABLE::timestamp_auto_set_type flag which is used everywhere
for determining if we should auto-set value of TIMESTAMP field
during this operation or not. We are also use Field_timestamp::set_time()
instead of handler::update_timestamp() in handlers.

09ba29e539 WL#1264 "Per-thread time zone support infrastructure".
Added basic per-thread time zone functionality (based on public
domain elsie-code). Now user can select current time zone
(from the list of time zones described in system tables).
All NOW-like functions honor this time zone, values of TIMESTAMP
type are interpreted as values in this time zone, so now
our TIMESTAMP type behaves similar to Oracle's TIMESTAMP WITH
LOCAL TIME ZONE (or proper PostgresSQL type).

WL#1266 "CONVERT_TZ() - basic time with time zone conversion
function".

Fixed problems described in Bug #2336 (Different number of warnings
when inserting bad datetime as string or as number). This required
reworking of datetime realted warning hadling (they now generated
at Field object level not in conversion functions).

Optimization: Now Field class descendants use table->in_use member
instead of current_thd macro.

56e8554aac BUG#2428 "--old-rpl-compat is broken":
I remove the --old-rpl-compat which produces broken binlogs readable
neither by 4.0 nor by 3.23.
This option is a leftover of the early replication of 4.0.0, when
it was still partly compatible with 3.23.
I explained this to the user in the bug report.

"LOAD DATA INFILE is badly filtered by binlog-*-db rules".
There will probably be a second final one to merge Dmitri's changes
to rpl_log.result and mine.
2 new tests:
rpl_loaddata_rule_m : test of logging of LOAD DATA INFILE when the master has binlog-*-db rules,
rpl_loaddata_rule_s : test of logging of LOAD DATA INFILE when the slave has binlog-*-db rules and --log-slave-updates.

Remove accidenatlly committed debug printfs when query cache is used
sql_update.cc, sql_load.cc, sql_insert.cc, sql_delete.cc:
For the transactional query cache algorithm to work we must invalidate the query cache in INSERT/DELETE/UPDATE before writing to the binlog or calling ha_autocommit_... Note that binlog writing may also call commit. The crucial thing is that the transaction which modified data must not be committed BEFORE the query cache is invalidated.

9994e625ff sql_load.cc:
LOAD DATA INFILE now uses database character set instead of server character set. This is not excellent but at least allows to load for example cyrillic data into cyrillic database if server charset is latin1. In the future we should add a syntax to specify file charset or evern charset of each field.
