e46c42217f cleanup: TABLE::mark_columns_used_by_index()
mark_columns_used_by_index used to do
reset + mark_columns_used_by_index_no_reset + start keyread + set bitmaps

Now prepare_for_keyread does that, while mark_columns_used_by_index
does only reset + mark_columns_used_by_index_no_reset,
just as its name suggests.

3cae225b0f cleanup: remove TABLE::add_read_columns_used_by_index
TABLE::add_read_columns_used_by_index() is conceptually wrong,
it *adds* columns used by index to the bitmap, without clearing
it first. But it also enables keyread, meaning that *only* columns
from the index will be read. It is supposed to be used to
add columns used by an index to a bitmap that already has columns
of a primary key - for engines where a primary key is part of every
index.

The correct fix is to change mark_columns_used_by_index() to
take into account extended keys.

1d73005bf3 MDEV-8360 Clean-up CHARSET_INFO: strnncollsp: diff_if_only_endspace_difference
- Removing the "diff_if_only_endspace_difference" argument from
  MY_COLLATION_HANDLER::strnncollsp(), my_strnncollsp_simple(),
  as well as in the function template MY_FUNCTION_NAME(strnncollsp)
  in strcoll.ic

- Removing the "diff_if_only_space_different" from ha_compare_text(),
  hp_rec_key_cmp().

- Adding a new function my_strnncollsp_padspace_bin() and reusing
  it instead of duplicate code pieces in my_strnncollsp_8bit_bin(),
  my_strnncollsp_latin1_de(), my_strnncollsp_tis620(),
  my_strnncollsp_utf8_cs().

- Adding more tests for better coverage of the trailing space handling.

- Removing the unused definition of HA_END_SPACE_ARE_EQUAL

70823e1d91 MDEV-5120 Test suite test maria-no-logging fails
The reason for the failure was a bug in an include file on debian that causes 'struct stat'
to have different sized depending on the environment.

This patch fixes so that we always include my_global.h or my_config.h before we include any other files.

Other things:
- Removed #include <my_global.h> in some include files; Better to always do this at the top level to have as few
  "always-include-this-file-first' files as possible.
- Removed usage of some include files that where already included by my_global.h or by other files.

d92a7cb76a Bug#14521864: MYSQL 5.1 TO 5.5 BUGS PARTITIONING
Due to an internal change in the server code in between 5.1 and 5.5
(wl#2649) the hash function used in KEY partitioning changed
for numeric and date/time columns (from binary hash calculation
to character based hash calculation).

Also enum/set changed from latin1 ci based hash calculation to
binary hash between 5.1 and 5.5. (bug#11759782).

These changes makes KEY [sub]partitioned tables on any of
the affected column types incompatible with 5.5 and above,
since the calculation of partition id differs.

Also since InnoDB asserts that a deleted row was previously
read (positioned), the server asserts on delete of a row that
is in the wrong partition.

The solution for this situation is:

1) The partitioning engine will check that delete/update will go to the
partition the row was read from and give an error otherwise, consisting
of the rows partitioning fields. This will avoid asserts in InnoDB and
also alert the user that there is a misplaced row. A detailed error
message will be given, including an entry to the error log consisting
of both table name, partition and row content (PK if exists, otherwise
all partitioning columns).


2) A new optional syntax for KEY () partitioning in 5.5 is allowed:
[SUB]PARTITION BY KEY [ALGORITHM = N] (list_of_cols)
Where N = 1 uses the same hashing as 5.1 (Numeric/date/time fields uses
binary hashing, ENUM/SET uses charset hashing) N = 2 uses the same
hashing as 5.5 (Numeric/date/time fields uses charset hashing,
ENUM/SET uses binary hashing). If not set on CREATE/ALTER it will
default to 2.

This new syntax should probably be ignored by NDB.


3) Since there is a demand for avoiding scanning through the full
table, during upgrade the ALTER TABLE t PARTITION BY ... command is
considered a no-op (only .frm change) if everything except ALGORITHM
is the same and ALGORITHM was not set before, which allows manually
upgrading such table by something like:
ALTER TABLE t PARTITION BY KEY ALGORITHM = 1 () or
ALTER TABLE t PARTITION BY KEY ALGORITHM = 2 ()


4) Enhanced partitioning with CHECK/REPAIR to also check for/repair
misplaced rows. (Also works for ALTER TABLE t CHECK/REPAIR PARTITION)

CHECK FOR UPGRADE:
If the .frm version is < 5.5.3
and uses KEY [sub]partitioning
and an affected column type
then it will fail with an message:
KEY () partitioning changed, please run:
ALTER TABLE `test`.`t1`  PARTITION BY KEY ALGORITHM = 1 (a)
PARTITIONS 12
(i.e. current partitioning clause, with the addition of
ALGORITHM = 1)

CHECK without FOR UPGRADE:
if MEDIUM (default) or EXTENDED options are given:
Scan all rows and verify that it is in the correct partition.
Fail for the first misplaced row.

REPAIR:
if default or EXTENDED (i.e. not QUICK/USE_FRM):
Scan all rows and every misplaced row is moved into its correct
partitions.


5) Updated mysqlcheck (called by mysql_upgrade) to handle the
new output from CHECK FOR UPGRADE, to run the ALTER statement
instead of running REPAIR.

This will allow mysql_upgrade (or CHECK TABLE t FOR UPGRADE) to upgrade
a KEY [sub]partitioned table that has any affected field type
and a .frm version < 5.5.3 to ALGORITHM = 1 without rebuild.


Also notice that if the .frm has a version of >= 5.5.3 and ALGORITHM
is not set, it is not possible to know if it consists of rows from
5.1 or 5.5! In these cases I suggest that the user does:
(optional)
LOCK TABLE t WRITE;
SHOW CREATE TABLE t;
(verify that it has no ALGORITHM = N, and to be safe, I would suggest
backing up the .frm file, to be used if one need to change to another
ALGORITHM = N, without needing to rebuild/repair)
ALTER TABLE t <old partitioning clause, but with ALGORITHM = N>;
which should set the ALGORITHM to N (if the table has rows from
5.1 I would suggest N = 1, otherwise N = 2)
CHECK TABLE t;
(here one could use the backed up .frm instead and change to a new N
and run CHECK again and see if it passes)
and if there are misplaced rows:
REPAIR TABLE t;
(optional)
UNLOCK TABLES;

d492903502 Fixed LP bug #707827.
This bug could manifest itself when hash join over a varchar column
with NULL values in some rows was used. It happened because the
function key_buf_cmp erroneously returned FALSE when one of the joined
key fields was null while the second was not.
Also fixed two other bugs in the functions key_hashnr and key_buf_cmp 
that could possibly lead to wrong results for some queries that
used hash join over several columns with nulls.
Also reverted the latest addition of the test case for bug #45092. It
had been already backported earlier.

18dc64eca2 Fixed LP bug #694443.
One of the hash functions employed by the BNLH join algorithm
calculates the the value of hash index for key value utilizing
every byte of the key buffer. To make this calculation valid
one has to ensure that for any key value unused bytes of the 
buffer are filled with with a certain filler. We choose 0 as
a filler for these bytes.

Added an optional boolean parameter with_zerofill to the function
key_copy. If the value of the parameter is TRUE all unused bytes
of the key buffer is filled with 0.

ddd6fbe553 Bug#57687 crash when reporting duplicate group_key error and utf8
Fixing DoS regression problem.

Using "key_part->fieldnr - 1" to access the desired field
is only correct in real INSERT queries.
In case of inserting records into a temporary table
when performing GROUP BY queries this expression does not work.

Fix: Instead of accessing field_length and comparing it
to key_part->length, there is an easier way to check if
we're dealing with a prefix key: check key_part_flag against
HA_PART_KEY_SEG flag.

d3ea743015 Bug#37721: ORDER BY when WHERE contains non-partitioned
index column

There was actually two problems
1) when clustered pk, order by non pk index should also
compare with pk as last resort to differ keys from each
other
2) bug in the index search handling in ha_partition (was
found when extending the test case

Solution to 1 was to include the pk in key compare if
clustered pk and search on other index.

Solution for 2 was to remove the optimization from
ordered scan to unordered scan if clustered pk.

1c0bd60db4 Bug#34358: Cannot find specified bit row in partitioned table
Problem was incorrect data length in the key_restore function
resulting in overwriting the search key.

Solution, remove one byte in length if uneven bits are used.

is_last_prefix <= 0, file .\opt_range.cc.

SELECT ... GROUP BY bit field failed with an assertion if the
bit length of that field was not divisible by 8.



sql/key.cc:
  Fixed bug #32556.
  Copying of "uneven" bits of a bit field was duplicated in the
  key_copy() and in the Field_bit::get_key_image().
  So, instead of copying of the rest of a bit field, 
  Field_bit::get_key_image() copied "uneven" bits to key image again,
  and the lowest field byte was not copied to key at all.
  
  Duplicated code has been removed from the key_copy function.
