4b9c7f8336 Item_func_field doesn't have a separate Item to store the first argument. 
It's now passed as args[0]. This fix allowed to resuse a lot of code.

0c2041cfdf New methods 
Item_func::agg_arg_collations()
  Item_func::arr_arg_collations_for_comparison()
 to aggregate argument collations.
It helps to reuse a lot of code.

c6c4e8b8e1 LOCATE(), INSTR(), POSITION(), FIND_IN_SET(), SUBSTRING_INDEX() 
now process arguments according to standard SQL collation determation
rules.

cb4539e8de String comparison functions now use the same DTCollation with 
CONCAT() and other string functions. This allows to reuse a lot
if code and to simplify further development.

04071da35a - renamed "rnd" to "my_rnd" as the name was too generic (and is an exported 
symbol in libmysqlclient) (thanks to Dennis Haney for the initial patch)
 - cleanup: removed client/password.c (not used at all) and
   libmysql/password.c (should rather be a symlink to sql/password.c instead)
 - applied HPUX11 portability fix for char_val declaration to sql/password.c
   (taken from libmysql/password.c)

48cdd97866 Strings which appear without charset context, 
like number-to-string-convertion-result, now 
takes current database character set, instead of
thread character set. This makes it easy to be
SQL99 conformant and 4.0 compatible.

Item->thd_charset() is renamed to Item->default_charset()
as old name doesn't describe its nature anymore.

Some reoganization
  Fixed that binary arguments do not affect result charset
  anymore
  For example, the second argument doesn't affect charset of result in LEFT(string,10)
