f738cc9876 MDEV-29095 REGEXP_REPLACE treats empty strings different than REPLACE in ORACLE mode
Turning REGEXP_REPLACE into two schema-qualified functions:
- mariadb_schema.regexp_replace()
- oracle_schema.regexp_replace()

Fixing oracle_schema.regexp_replace(subj,pattern,replacement) to treat
NULL in "replacement" as an empty string.

Adding new classes implementing oracle_schema.regexp_replace():
- Item_func_regexp_replace_oracle
- Create_func_regexp_replace_oracle

Adding helper methods:
- String *Item::val_str_null_to_empty(String *to)
- String *Item::val_str_null_to_empty(String *to, bool null_to_empty)

and reusing these methods in both Item_func_replace and
Item_func_regexp_replace.

f436b4a523 MDEV-32879 Server crash in my_decimal::operator= or unexpected ER_DUP_ENTRY upon comparison with INET6 and similar types
During the 10.5->10.6 merge please use the 10.6 code on conflicts.

This is the 10.5 version of the patch (a backport of the 10.6 version).
Unlike 10.6 version, it makes changes in plugin/type_inet/sql_type_inet.*
rather than in sql/sql_type_fixedbin.h

Item_bool_rowready_func2, Item_func_between, Item_func_in
did not check if a not-NULL argument of an arbitrary data type
can produce a NULL value on conversion to INET6.

This caused a crash on DBUG_ASSERT() in conversion failures,
because the function returned SQL NULL for something that
has Item::maybe_null() equal to false.

Adding setting NULL-ability in such cases.

Details:

- Removing the code in Item_func::setup_args_and_comparator()
  performing character set aggregation with optional narrowing.
  This aggregation is done inside Arg_comparator::set_cmp_func_string().
  So this code was redundant

- Removing Item_func::setup_args_and_comparator() as it git simplified to
  just to two lines:
    convert_const_compared_to_int_field(thd);
    return cmp->set_cmp_func(thd, this, &args[0], &args[1], true);
  Using these lines directly in:
    - Item_bool_rowready_func2::fix_length_and_dec()
    - Item_func_nullif::fix_length_and_dec()

- Adding a new virtual method:
  - Type_handler::Item_bool_rowready_func2_fix_length_and_dec().

- Adding tests detecting if the data type conversion can return SQL NULL into
  the following methods of Type_handler_inet6:
  - Item_bool_rowready_func2_fix_length_and_dec
  - Item_func_between_fix_length_and_dec
  - Item_func_in_fix_comparator_compatible_types

2b6d241ee4 MDEV-27744 LPAD in vcol created in ORACLE mode makes table corrupted in non-ORACLE
The crash happened with an indexed virtual column whose
value is evaluated using a function that has a different meaning
in sql_mode='' vs sql_mode=ORACLE:

- DECODE()
- LTRIM()
- RTRIM()
- LPAD()
- RPAD()
- REPLACE()
- SUBSTR()

For example:

CREATE TABLE t1 (
  b VARCHAR(1),
  g CHAR(1) GENERATED ALWAYS AS (SUBSTR(b,0,0)) VIRTUAL,
  KEY g(g)
);

So far we had replacement XXX_ORACLE() functions for all mentioned function,
e.g. SUBSTR_ORACLE() for SUBSTR(). So it was possible to correctly re-parse
SUBSTR_ORACLE() even in sql_mode=''.

But it was not possible to re-parse the MariaDB version of SUBSTR()
after switching to sql_mode=ORACLE. It was erroneously mis-interpreted
as SUBSTR_ORACLE().

As a result, this combination worked fine:

SET sql_mode=ORACLE;
CREATE TABLE t1 ... g CHAR(1) GENERATED ALWAYS AS (SUBSTR(b,0,0)) VIRTUAL, ...;
INSERT ...
FLUSH TABLES;
SET sql_mode='';
INSERT ...

But the other way around it crashed:

SET sql_mode='';
CREATE TABLE t1 ... g CHAR(1) GENERATED ALWAYS AS (SUBSTR(b,0,0)) VIRTUAL, ...;
INSERT ...
FLUSH TABLES;
SET sql_mode=ORACLE;
INSERT ...

At CREATE time, SUBSTR was instantiated as Item_func_substr and printed
in the FRM file as substr(). At re-open time with sql_mode=ORACLE, "substr()"
was erroneously instantiated as Item_func_substr_oracle.

Fix:

The fix proposes a symmetric solution. It provides a way to re-parse reliably
all sql_mode dependent functions to their original CREATE TABLE time meaning,
no matter what the open-time sql_mode is.

We take advantage of the same idea we previously used to resolve sql_mode
dependent data types.

Now all sql_mode dependent functions are printed by SHOW using a schema
qualifier when the current sql_mode differs from the function sql_mode:

SET sql_mode='';
CREATE TABLE t1 ... SUBSTR(a,b,c) ..;
SET sql_mode=ORACLE;
SHOW CREATE TABLE t1;   ->   mariadb_schema.substr(a,b,c)

SET sql_mode=ORACLE;
CREATE TABLE t2 ... SUBSTR(a,b,c) ..;
SET sql_mode='';
SHOW CREATE TABLE t1;   ->   oracle_schema.substr(a,b,c)

Old replacement names like substr_oracle() are still understood for
backward compatibility and used in FRM files (for downgrade compatibility),
but they are not printed by SHOW any more.

5dc9a6b455 MDEV-31102 Crash when pushing condition into view defined as union
This bug could manifest itself at the first execution of prepared statement
created for queries using a materialized view defined as union. A crash
could happen for sure if the query contained a condition pushable into
the view and this condition was over the column defined via a complex string
expression requiring implicit conversion from one charset to another for
some of its sub-expressions. The bug could cause crashes when executing
PS for some other queries whose optimization needed building clones for
such expressions.

This bug was introduced in the patch for MDEV-29988 where the class
Item_direct_ref_to_item was added. The implementations of the virtual
methods get_copy() and build_clone() were invalid for the class and this
could cause crashes after the method build_clone() was called for
expressions containing objects of the Item_direct_ref_to_item type.

08c852026d Apply clang-tidy to remove empty constructors / destructors
This patch is the result of running
run-clang-tidy -fix -header-filter=.* -checks='-*,modernize-use-equals-default' .

Code style changes have been done on top. The result of this change
leads to the following improvements:

1. Binary size reduction.
* For a -DBUILD_CONFIG=mysql_release build, the binary size is reduced by
  ~400kb.
* A raw -DCMAKE_BUILD_TYPE=Release reduces the binary size by ~1.4kb.

2. Compiler can better understand the intent of the code, thus it leads
   to more optimization possibilities. Additionally it enabled detecting
   unused variables that had an empty default constructor but not marked
   so explicitly.

   Particular change required following this patch in sql/opt_range.cc

   result_keys, an unused template class Bitmap now correctly issues
   unused variable warnings.

   Setting Bitmap template class constructor to default allows the compiler
   to identify that there are no side-effects when instantiating the class.
   Previously the compiler could not issue the warning as it assumed Bitmap
   class (being a template) would not be performing a NO-OP for its default
   constructor. This prevented the "unused variable warning".

b928c849d2 MDEV-28602 Wrong result with outer join, merged derived table and view
(Variant 3, initial variant was by Rex Jonston)

A LEFT JOIN with a constant as a column of the inner table produced wrong
query result if the optimizer had to write the inner table column into a
temp table. Query pattern:

  SELECT ...
  FROM (SELECT /*non-mergeable select*/
        FROM t1 LEFT JOIN (SELECT 'Y' as Val) t2 ON ...) as tbl

Fixed this by adding Item_direct_view_ref::save_in_field() which follows
the pattern of Item_direct_view_ref's save_org_in_field(),
save_in_result_field() and val_XXX() functions:
* call check_null_ref() and handle NULL value
* if we didn't get a NULL-complemented row, call Item_direct_ref's function.

6cb84346e1 MDEV-17869 AddressSanitizer: use-after-poison in Item_change_list::rollback_item_tree_changes
it's incorrect to use change_item_tree() to replace arguments
of top-level AND/OR, because they (arguments) are stored in a List,
so a pointer to an argument is in the list_node, and individual
list_node's of top-level AND/OR can be deleted in Item_cond::build_equal_items().
In that case rollback_item_tree_changes() will modify the deleted object.

Luckily, it's not needed to use change_item_tree() for top-level
AND/OR, because the whole top-level item is copied and preserved
in prep_where and prep_on, and restored from there.

So, just don't.

Additionally to the test case in the commit it fixes
* ASAN failure of main.opt_tvc --ps
* ASAN failure of main.having_cond_pushdown --ps

37a316c01d MDEV-29988: Major performance regression with 10.6.11
The idea is to put Item_direct_ref_to_item as a transparent and
permanent wrapper before a string which require conversion.
So that Item_direct_ref_to_item would be the only place where
the pointer to the string item is stored, this pointer can be changed
and restored during PS execution as needed. And if any permanent
(subquery) optimization would need a pointer to the item,
it'll use a pointer to the Item_direct_ref_to_item - which is
a permanent item and won't go away.

807945f2eb MDEV-26402: A SEGV in Item_field::used_tables/update_depend_map_for_order...
When doing condition pushdown from HAVING into WHERE,
Item_equal::create_pushable_equalities() calls
item->set_extraction_flag(IMMUTABLE_FL) for constant items.
Then, Item::cleanup_excluding_immutables_processor() checks for this flag
to see if it should call item->cleanup() or leave the item as-is.

The failure happens when a constant item has a non-constant one inside it,
like:

   (tbl.col=0 AND impossible_cond)

item->walk(cleanup_excluding_immutables_processor) works in a bottom-up
way so it
1. will call Item_func_eq(tbl.col=0)->cleanup()
2. will not call Item_cond_and->cleanup (as the AND is constant)

This creates an item tree where a fixed Item has an un-fixed Item inside
it which eventually causes an assertion failure.

Fixed by introducing this rule: instead of just calling

  item->set_extraction_flag(IMMUTABLE_FL);

we call Item::walk() to set the flag for all sub-items of the item.

When table is reopened from cache vcol_info contains stale

first we must prepare a proper context (Vcol_expr_context) which meets

1. As noted above expr update must be done on expr_arena as there may

was just not reproduced because of no second refix. Now refix is done
for more cases so it does reproduce. Tests affected: vcol.binlog

2. Also name resolution context must be narrowed to the single table.

3. sql_mode must be clean and not fail expr update.

sql_mode such as MODE_NO_BACKSLASH_ESCAPES, MODE_NO_ZERO_IN_DATE, etc
