Apart strict-aliasing warnings, fix the remaining warnings
generated by GCC 4.4.4 -Wall and -Wextra flags.
One major source of warnings was the in-house function my_bcmp
which (unconventionally) took pointers to unsigned characters
as the byte sequences to be compared. Since my_bcmp and bcmp
are deprecated functions whose only difference with memcmp is
the return value, every use of the function is replaced with
memcmp as the special return value wasn't actually being used
by any caller.
There were also various other warnings, mostly due to type
mismatches, missing return values, missing prototypes, dead
code (unreachable) and ignored return values.
- Removed not used variables and functions
- Added #ifdef around code that is not used
- Renamed variables and functions to avoid conflicts
- Removed some not used arguments
Fixed some class/struct warnings in ndb
Added define IS_LONGDATA() to simplify code in libmysql.c
I did run gcov on the changes and added 'purecov' comments on almost all lines that was not just variable name changes
(Mostly in DBUG_PRINT() and unused arguments)
Fixed bug in query cache when used with traceing (--with-debug)
Fixed memory leak in mysqldump
Removed warnings from mysqltest scripts (replaced -- with #)
- Segfault because of passing a 64-bit pointer to 32 bit integer.
- Add new include config_readline.h which will calculate some new defines
based on what is found in config.h
- This file was originally included in readline 4.3 as config.h.in, only the part that
makes new defines have been moved to this file.
