First part of redo/undo for key pages
Added key_nr to st_maria_keydef for faster keyinfo->keynr conversion
For transactional tables, shift record number in keys up with 1 bit to have place to indicate if transid follows
Checksum for MyISAM now ignores NULL and not used part of VARCHAR
Renamed some variables that caused shadow compiler warnings
Moved extra() call when waiting for tables to not be used to after tables are removed from cache.
Fixed crashing bugs when using Maria TEMPORARY tables with TRUNCATE. Removed 'hack' code in sql directory to go around this bug.
pagecache_unlock_by_ulink() now has extra argument to say if page was changed.
Give error message if we fail to open control file
Mark page cache variables as not flushable

Fix for bug #31254: "Max_data_length" truncated / reported wrong
(compiler issue ?) Problem: Improper compile-time flags on AIX prevented use of files > 2 GB. This resulted in Max_data_length being truncated to 2 GB by MyISAM code. Solution: Reverted large-file changes from the fix for bug10776. We need to define _LARGE_FILES on AIX to have support for files > 2 GB. Since _LARGE_FILE_API is incompatible with _LARGE_FILES and may be automatically defined by including standards.h, we also need a workaround to avoid this conflict. config/ac-macros/large_file.m4: Reverted large-file changes from the fix for bug10776. We need to define _LARGE_FILES on AIX to have support for files > 2 GB. include/my_global.h: _LARGE_FILE_API is defined in standards.h that is automatically included by at least some C++ compilers on AIX. Since it is also incompatible with _LARGE_FILES which is required for POSIX IO calls to be largefile-safe, the only workaround is to explicitely #undef _LARGE_FILE_API. |

This patch is a part of work on bug #5731 "key_buffer_size not properly restricted to 4GB".
The patch limits read_buffer_size and read_rnd_buffer_size by 2 GB on all platforms for the following reasons: - I/O code in mysys, code in mf_iocache.c and in some storage engines do not currently work with sizes > 2 GB for those buffers - even if the above had been fixed, Windows POSIX read() and write() calls are not 2GB-safe, so setting those buffer to sizes > 2GB would not work correctly on 64-bit Windows. include/my_global.h: Removed SSIZE_MAX definition because it's not neeeded anymore. sql/mysqld.cc: Limit read_buffer_size and read_rnd_buffer_size by 2 GB on all platforms. |

post-merge fixes, and fixes for some of the 16 compiler warnings
found in pushbuild on sapsrv1. Some not fixed as not repeatable
on my machine (32/64 bit issue?).
Fixes for some test failures:
- "maria-connect" now passes;
- "maria": after fixing the obvious reasons for failures, the test
went further and hit a more complex issues: difference in the output
of EXPLAIN output; not fixed;
- "ps_maria" still crashes in assertion
mysqld: ha_maria.cc:1627: virtual int ha_maria::index_read(uchar*, const uchar*, uint, ha_rkey_function): Ass
ertion `inited == INDEX' failed, as already observable in pushbuild.
All this might just be due to an incomplete merge of MyISAM changes
into Maria when 5.1 was last merged to mysql-maria.

WL#3914: Additonal accessors required to compile InnoDB as a plugin storage engine
Add more accessors to MySQL internals in mysql/plugin.h, for storage
engine plugins.
Add some accessors specific to the InnoDB storage engine, to allow
InnoDB to be compiled as a plugin (without MYSQL_SERVER). InnoDB
has additional requirements, due to its foreign key support, etc.
include/m_string.h:
Add structure tag to LEX_STRING definition, so that it can be referred
to by forward declarations. Allow struct st_mysql_lex_string to be
defined here, or in mysql/plugin.h.
include/my_global.h:
Define INNODB_COMPATIBILITY_HOOKS unconditionally; it brackets
some definitions needed for the InnoDB storage engine plugin
which do not belong in our general plugin interface.
include/mysql/plugin.h:
Additional accessors for MySQL internals:
- Full definition of MYSQL_LEX_STRING (identical to LEX_STRING from
m_string.h)
- Full definition of MYSQL_XID (binary compatible with XID from
handler.h)
- mysql_tmpfile(), creates a temporary file in mysqld's tmpdir
- thd_killed(), to check killed state of connection
- thd_alloc() and similar allocation functions

Bug#21554 (sp_cache.cc: violates C++ aliasing rules)
The problem reported is a compile bug, reported by the development GCC team with GCC 4.2. The original issue can no longer be reproduced in MySQL 5.1, since the configure script no longer define HAVE_ATOMIC_ADD, which caused the Linux atomic functions to be used (and cause a problem with an invalid cast). This patch implements some code cleanup for 5.1 only, which was identified during the investigation of this issue. With this patch, statistics maintained in THD::status_var are by definition owned by the running thread, and do not need to be protected against race conditions. Fix for bug #28240: "isinf()" cannot be used in C++ for lack of prototype
- Since isinf() portability across various platforms and compilers is a complicated question, we should not use it directly. Instead, the my_isinf() macro should be used, which is defined as an alias to the system-defined isinf() if it is safe to use, or a workaround implementation otherwise configure.in: Added a check to define HAVE_ISINF only if it can be used in C++ code as well. include/my_global.h: Define my_isinf() as an alias to isinf(), if it is available in both C and C++ code. Otherwise, define it to a workaround implementation. sql/item_func.cc: Replaced isinf() with my_isinf(). strings/strtod.c: Replaced isinf() with my_isinf(). |

WL#3817: Simplify string / memory area types and make things more consistent (first part)
The following type conversions was done:
- Changed byte to uchar
- Changed gptr to uchar*
- Change my_string to char *
- Change my_size_t to size_t
- Change size_s to size_t
Removed declaration of byte, gptr, my_string, my_size_t and size_s.
Following function parameter changes was done:
- All string functions in mysys/strings was changed to use size_t
instead of uint for string lengths.
- All read()/write() functions changed to use size_t (including vio).
- All protocoll functions changed to use size_t instead of uint
- Functions that used a pointer to a string length was changed to use size_t*
- Changed malloc(), free() and related functions from using gptr to use void *
as this requires fewer casts in the code and is more in line with how the
standard functions work.
- Added extra length argument to dirname_part() to return the length of the
created string.
- Changed (at least) following functions to take uchar* as argument:
- db_dump()
- my_net_write()
- net_write_command()
- net_store_data()
- DBUG_DUMP()
- decimal2bin() & bin2decimal()
- Changed my_compress() and my_uncompress() to use size_t. Changed one
argument to my_uncompress() from a pointer to a value as we only return
one value (makes function easier to use).
- Changed type of 'pack_data' argument to packfrm() to avoid casts.
- Changed in readfrm() and writefrom(), ha_discover and handler::discover()
the type for argument 'frmdata' to uchar** to avoid casts.
- Changed most Field functions to use uchar* instead of char* (reduced a lot of
casts).
- Changed field->val_xxx(xxx, new_ptr) to take const pointers.
Other changes:
- Removed a lot of not needed casts
- Added a few new cast required by other changes
- Added some cast to my_multi_malloc() arguments for safety (as string lengths
needs to be uint, not size_t).
- Fixed all calls to hash-get-key functions to use size_t*. (Needed to be done
explicitely as this conflict was often hided by casting the function to
hash_get_key).
- Changed some buffers to memory regions to uchar* to avoid casts.
- Changed some string lengths from uint to size_t.
- Changed field->ptr to be uchar* instead of char*. This allowed us to
get rid of a lot of casts.
- Some changes from true -> TRUE, false -> FALSE, unsigned char -> uchar
- Include zlib.h in some files as we needed declaration of crc32()
- Changed MY_FILE_ERROR to be (size_t) -1.
- Changed many variables to hold the result of my_read() / my_write() to be
size_t. This was needed to properly detect errors (which are
returned as (size_t) -1).
- Removed some very old VMS code
- Changed packfrm()/unpackfrm() to not be depending on uint size
(portability fix)
- Removed windows specific code to restore cursor position as this
causes slowdown on windows and we should not mix read() and pread()
calls anyway as this is not thread safe. Updated function comment to
reflect this. Changed function that depended on original behavior of
my_pwrite() to itself restore the cursor position (one such case).
- Added some missing checking of return value of malloc().
- Changed definition of MOD_PAD_CHAR_TO_FULL_LENGTH to avoid 'long' overflow.
- Changed type of table_def::m_size from my_size_t to ulong to reflect that
m_size is the number of elements in the array, not a string/memory
length.
- Moved THD::max_row_length() to table.cc (as it's not depending on THD).
Inlined max_row_length_blob() into this function.
- More function comments
- Fixed some compiler warnings when compiled without partitions.
- Removed setting of LEX_STRING() arguments in declaration (portability fix).
- Some trivial indentation/variable name changes.
- Some trivial code simplifications:
- Replaced some calls to alloc_root + memcpy to use
strmake_root()/strdup_root().
- Changed some calls from memdup() to strmake() (Safety fix)
- Simpler loops in client-simple.c

Fix for bug #28240: "isinf()" cannot be used in C++ for lack of prototype
Since isinf() portability across various platforms and compilers is a complicated question, we should not use it directly. Instead, the my_isinf() macro should be used, which is defined as an alias to the system-defined isinf() if it is safe to use, or a workaround implementation otherwise. configure.in: Added a check to define HAVE_ISINF only if it can be used in C++ code as well. include/my_global.h: Define my_isinf() as an alias to isinf(), if it is available in both C and C++ code. Otherwise, define it to a workaround implementation. sql/item_func.cc: Replaced isinf() with my_isinf(). strings/strtod.c: Replaced isinf() with my_isinf(). |

Bug#14862 undefined reference to `isinf' on SOLARIS - strings/strtod.c
- Rely only on HAVE_ISINF to determine if 'isinf' can be used. include/my_global.h: The test in configure.in determines if we can use "'isinf' after having inluded math.h". If the test works HAVE_ISINF will be defined and isinf can be used in the code. When the configure test fails it's not possible to use 'isinf' only by including math.h and thus 'isinf' will be defined to never return that X is inifinite. |
