a411d7f4f6 store/show vcols as item->print()
otherwise we'd need to store sql_mode *per vcol*
(consider CREATE INDEX...) and how SHOW CREATE TABLE would
support that?

Additionally, get rid of vcol::expr_str, just to make sure
the string is always generated and never leaked in the
original form.

db7edfed17 MDEV-7563 Support CHECK constraint as in (or close to) SQL Standard
MDEV-10134 Add full support for DEFAULT

- Added support for using tables with MySQL 5.7 virtual fields,
  including MySQL 5.7 syntax
- Better error messages also for old cases
- CREATE ... SELECT now also updates timestamp columns
- Blob can now have default values
- Added new system variable "check_constraint_checks", to turn of
  CHECK constraint checking if needed.
- Removed some engine independent tests in suite vcol to only test myisam
- Moved some tests from 'include' to 't'. Should some day be done for all tests.
- FRM version increased to 11 if one uses virtual fields or constraints
- Changed to use a bitmap to check if a field has got a value, instead of
setting HAS_EXPLICIT_VALUE bit in field flags
- Expressions can now be up to 65K in total
- Ensure we are not refering to uninitialized fields when handling virtual fields or defaults
- Changed check_vcol_func_processor() to return a bitmap of used types
- Had to change some functions that calculated cached value in fix_fields to do
this in val() or getdate() instead.
- store_now_in_TIME() now takes a THD argument
- fill_record() now updates default values
- Add a lookahead for NOT NULL, to be able to handle DEFAULT 1+1 NOT NULL
- Automatically generate a name for constraints that doesn't have a name
- Added support for ALTER TABLE DROP CONSTRAINT
- Ensure that partition functions register virtual fields used. This fixes
some bugs when using virtual fields in a partitioning function

6c173324ff Part of MDEV-10134 Add full support for DEFAULT
Print default values for BLOB's.
This is a part commit for automatic changes to make the real commit smaller.
All changes here are related to that we now print DEFAULT NULL for blob and
text fields, like we do for all other fields.

5c9c8ef1ea MDEV-3929 Add system variable explicit_defaults_for_timestamp for compatibility with MySQL 2015-09-22 14:01:54 +04:00

6b20342651 Ensure that fields declared with NOT NULL doesn't have DEFAULT values if not specified and if not timestamp or auto_increment
In original code, sometimes one got an automatic DEFAULT value in some cases, in other cases not.

For example:
create table t1 (a int primary key) - No default
create table t2 (a int, primary key(a)) - DEFAULT 0
create table t1 SELECT .... - Default for all fields, even if they where defined as NOT NULL
ALTER TABLE ... MODIFY could sometimes add an unexpected DEFAULT value.

The patch is quite big because we had some many test cases that used
CREATE ... SELECT or CREATE ... (...PRIMARY KEY(xxx)) which doesn't have an automatic DEFAULT anymore.

Other things:
- Removed warnings from InnoDB when waiting from semaphore (got this when testing things with --big)

da5214831d Fix for bug lp:944706, task MDEV-193
The patch enables back constant subquery execution during
query optimization after it was disabled during the development
of MWL#89 (cost-based choice of IN-TO-EXISTS vs MATERIALIZATION).

The main idea is that constant subqueries are allowed to be executed
during optimization if their execution is not expensive.

The approach is as follows:
- Constant subqueries are recursively optimized in the beginning of
JOIN::optimize of the outer query. This is done by the new method
JOIN::optimize_constant_subqueries(). This is done so that the cost
of executing these queries can be estimated.
- Optimization of the outer query proceeds normally. During this phase
the optimizer may request execution of non-expensive constant subqueries.
Each place where the optimizer may potentially execute an expensive
expression is guarded with the predicate Item::is_expensive().
- The implementation of Item_subselect::is_expensive has been extended
to use the number of examined rows (estimated by the optimizer) as a
way to determine whether the subquery is expensive or not.
- The new system variable "expensive_subquery_limit" controls how many
examined rows are considered to be not expensive. The default is 100.

In addition, multiple changes were needed to make this solution work
in the light of the changes made by MWL#89. These changes were needed
to fix various crashes and wrong results, and legacy bugs discovered
during development.

The problem was that key_read on a table in a sub-select was not

This bug was intruduced by the fix for bug#17212 (in 4.1). It is not

190efb06e7 BUG#20604: FORCE INDEX uses keys disabled by ALTER TABLE
The function that checks whether we can use keys for aggregates,
find_key_for_maxmin(), assumes that keys disabled by ALTER TABLE
... DISABLE KEYS are not in the set table->keys_in_use_for_query.
I.E., if a key is in this set, the optimizer assumes it is free to
use it.

The bug is that keys disabled with ALTER TABLE ... DISABLE KEYS still
appear in table->keys_in_use_for_query When the TABLE object has been
initialized with setup_tables(). Before setup_tables is called, however,
keys that are disabled in the aforementioned way are not included in
TABLE::keys_in_use_for_query.

The provided patch changes the code that updates keys_is_use_for_query so
that it assumes that keys_is_use_for_query already takes into account all
disabled keys, and generally all keys that should be used by the query.

a1bd0bd118 BUG#14770 - LOAD DATA INFILE doesn't respect default values for
columns
Fixed confusing warning.

Quoting INSERT section of the manual:
----
Inserting NULL into a column that has been declared NOT NULL. For
multiple-row INSERT statements or INSERT INTO ... SELECT statements, the
column is set to the implicit default value for the column data type. This
is 0 for numeric types, the empty string ('') for string types, and the
"zero" value for date and time types. INSERT INTO ... SELECT statements are
handled the same way as multiple-row inserts because the server does not
examine the result set from the SELECT to see whether it returns a single
row. (For a single-row INSERT, no warning occurs when NULL is inserted into
a NOT NULL column. Instead, the statement fails with an error.)

This is also true for LOAD DATA INFILE. For INSERT user can specify
DEFAULT keyword as a value to set column default. There is no similiar
feature available for LOAD DATA INFILE.

The intention with the original code was to show that MySQL treats the first
given unique key as a primary key. Clients can use the marked primary key as a
real primary key to validate row changes in case of conflicting updates. The
ODBC driver (and other drivers) may also use this fact to optimize/check
updates and handle conflicts. The marked key also shows what some engines, like InnoDB or NDB,
will use as it's internal primary key.
For checking if someone has declared a true PRIMARY KEY, one should use 'SHOW CREATE TABLE'

66a59b10e9 Reverted wrong bug fix (Bug#11228)
mysql-test/r/key.result:
Fixed result after removing wrong bug fix
mysql-test/t/key.test:
Added SHOW CREATE TABLE, which is the proper way to check for table definitions
sql/table.cc:
  Reverted wrong bug fix.

89e415950c Bug#11228: DESC shows arbitrary column as "PRI"
An UNIQUE KEY consisting of NOT NULL columns
was displayed as PRIMARY KEY in "DESC t1".
According to the code, that was intentional
behaviour for some reasons unknown to me.
This code was written before bitkeeper time,
so I cannot check who and why made this.
After discussing on dev-public, a decision
was made to remove this code

0369042a09 WL#1563 - Modify MySQL to support fast CREATE/DROP INDEX

085c97c19e WL#1563 - Modify MySQL to support fast CREATE/DROP INDEX
NDB cluster is not fully supported. This will be added with
WL 1892 (NDB Handler: Add support for CREATE/DROP INDEX).
Some preparatory code for this is already present though.
A change for the "duplicate key" error message is planned
for another changeset.

include/my_base.h:
WL#1563 - Modify MySQL to support fast CREATE/DROP INDEX
Defined a mask of flags which must be the same for two indexes
if they should compare as compatible.
Added an error number for a new drop index error message.
mysql-test/r/key.result:
WL#1563 - Modify MySQL to support fast CREATE/DROP INDEX
  The test result.
mysql-test/t/key.test:
WL#1563 - Modify MySQL to support fast CREATE/DROP INDEX
  The test case.
sql/handler.cc:
WL#1563 - Modify MySQL to support fast CREATE/DROP INDEX
Prepared for a later change in an error message:
Replace index number by index name for "duplicate key" error.
Added handling for the new drop index error message.
sql/handler.h:
WL#1563 - Modify MySQL to support fast CREATE/DROP INDEX
  Added new flags and methods.
Removed old flags and methods (from the last attempt).
sql/share/errmsg.txt:
WL#1563 - Modify MySQL to support fast CREATE/DROP INDEX
Added a new error message for drop index.
sql/sql_table.cc:
WL#1563 - Modify MySQL to support fast CREATE/DROP INDEX
Moved definitions to the top of the file.
In mysql_prepare_table() allow an index to have the name
"PRIMARY" if it has the key type "Key::PRIMARY".
  Added a parenthesis for readability.
Removed old code from the last attempt.
  Some changes to compare_tables():
  - Input parameter "List<Key> *key_list" is replaced by
    "KEY *key_info_buffer, uint key_count".
  - Output parameters added: "index_drop_buffer/index_drop_count"
    and "index_add_buffer/index_add_count".
  - Key comparison must now find matching keys in changed
    old and new key lists.
  - Key comparison of a key is easier now because both old
and new keys are of type 'KEY'.
  Call mysql_prepare_table() before compare_tables(). The
translated KEY structs are needed at some places now.
Inserted a code segment for checking alter_table_flags().
Removed mysql_prepare_table() from the 'partition' branches
  (it is done above now).
Removed a pair of unnecessary braces.
Inserted a code segment for executing fast add/drop index.
Made close of table dependent on whether it was opened.
  Prepared for NDB cluster support.
Fixed commit to be called outside of LOCK_open.
