11099ed53c Bug #19059: Failure to get version information when running from source tree
Fix the way that instance manager finds the version number of instances,
so that it works properly when the executable name isn't the same as what
the instance-manager launched, such as when wrapping a libtool-wrapped
  executable from the source tree.

This removes the 'Ver ' reported in the version column output by
'SHOW INSTANCE STATUS ...', but the format of this column is not
documented (and is pretty free-form to begin with).

server-tools/instance-manager/instance_options.cc:
Look for 'Ver' to get version from running mysqld --version
server-tools/instance-manager/parse_output.cc:
Make parse_output_and_get_value() look at the whole line to find
the word, instead of just at the beginning of each line.
sql/mysqld.cc:
Note that the instance manager relies on 'Ver' in mysqld --version

5b5530daa5 A fix and a test case for Bug#16365 "Prepared Statements: DoS with
too many open statements". The patch adds a new global variable
@@max_prepared_stmt_count. This variable limits the total number
of prepared statements in the server. The default value of
@@max_prepared_stmt_count is 16382. 16382 small statements
(a select against 3 tables with GROUP, ORDER and LIMIT) consume
100MB of RAM. Once this limit has been reached, the server will
refuse to prepare a new statement and return ER_UNKNOWN_ERROR
(unfortunately, we can't add new errors to 4.1 without breaking 5.0). The limit is changeable after startup
and can accept any value from 0 to 1 million. In case
the new value of the limit is less than the current
statement count, no new statements can be added, while the old
still can be used. Additionally, the current count of prepared
statements is now available through a global read-only variable
@@prepared_stmt_count.

mysql-test/r/ps.result:
Test results fixed (a test case for Bug#16365)
mysql-test/t/ps.test:
A test case for Bug#16365 "Prepared Statements: DoS with too many
open statements". Also fix statement leaks in other tests.
sql/mysql_priv.h:
Add declarations for new global variables.
sql/mysqld.cc:
  Add definitions of max_prepared_stmt_count, prepared_stmt_count.
sql/set_var.cc:
  Implement support for @@prepared_stmt_count and
@@max_prepared_stmt_count. Currently these variables are queried
without acquiring LOCK_prepared_stmt_count due to limitations of
the set_var/sys_var class design. Updates are, however, protected
  with a lock.
sql/set_var.h:
New declarations to add support for @@max_prepared_stmt_count.
Implement a new class, where the lock to be used when updating
  a variable is a parameter.
sql/sql_class.cc:
Add accounting of the total number of prepared statements in the
server to the methods of Statement_map.
sql/sql_class.h:
Add accounting of the total number of prepared statements in the
server to the methods of Statement_map.
sql/sql_prepare.cc:
Statement_map::insert will now send a message in case of an
  error.

8f543b5eb8 BUG#15101 SYSDATE() disregards SET TIMESTAMP.
After the ChangeSet 1.1892.20.1 2005/08/24 (Bug #12562) SYSDATE() is not an alias
of NOW() and is unsafe for replication.
`SYSDATE()' backward compatible aliasing clashes with the idea #12562
fix. To make it safe-replicatable we have to either use RBR or to restore
   the pre-5.0 style.
--sysdate-is-now command line flag was introduced to provide backward compatibility.

7cac0ddfd0 WL#2977 and WL#2712 global and session-level variable to set the binlog format (row/statement),
and new binlog format called "mixed" (which is statement-based except if only row-based is correct,
in this cset it means if UDF or UUID is used; more cases could be added in later 5.1 release):
SET GLOBAL|SESSION BINLOG_FORMAT=row|statement|mixed|default;
the global default is statement unless cluster is enabled (then it's row) as in 5.1-alpha.
It's not possible to use SET on this variable if a session is currently in row-based mode and has open temporary tables (because CREATE
TEMPORARY TABLE was not binlogged so temp table is not known on slave), or if NDB is enabled (because
NDB does not support such change on-the-fly, though it will later), of if in a stored function (see below).
The added tests test the possibility or impossibility to SET, their effects, and the mixed mode,
including in prepared statements and in stored procedures and functions.
Caveats:
a) The mixed mode will not work for stored functions: in mixed mode, a stored function will
always be binlogged as one call and in a statement-based way (e.g. INSERT VALUES(myfunc()) or SELECT myfunc()).
b) for the same reason, changing the thread's binlog format inside a stored function is
refused with an error message.
c) the same problems apply to triggers; implementing b) for triggers will be done later (will ask
Dmitri).
Additionally, as the binlog format is now changeable by each user for his session, I remove the implication
which was done at startup, where row-based automatically set log-bin-trust-routine-creators to 1
(not possible anymore as a user can now switch to stmt-based and do nasty things again), and automatically
set --innodb-locks-unsafe-for-binlog to 1 (was anyway theoretically incorrect as it disabled
phantom protection).
Plus fixes for compiler warnings.

8470ae9cb1 Fix for BUG#14769 "Function fails to replicate if fails half-way (slave stops)":
if the function, invoked in a non-binlogged caller (e.g. SELECT, DO), failed half-way on the master,
slave would stop and complain that error code between him and master mismatch.
To solve this, when a stored function is invoked in a non-binlogged caller (e.g. SELECT, DO), we binlog the function
call as SELECT instead of as DO (see revision comment of sp_head.cc for more).
And: minor wording change in the help text.
This cset will cause conflicts in 5.1, I'll merge.

sql/mysqld.cc:
function -> stored function (change suggested by Paul)
sql/sp_head.cc:
When a function updates data and is called from a non-binlogged statement (SELECT, DO), we binlog it
as SELECT myfunc(), and not DO myfunc() like before.

c3542cebf9 fix for bug#16642 (Events: No INFORMATION_SCHEMA.EVENTS table)
post-review change - use pointer instead of copy on the stack.
WL#1034 (Internal CRON)
This patch adds INFORMATION_SCHEMA.EVENTS table with the following format:
  EVENT_CATALOG - MYSQL_TYPE_STRING (Always NULL)
  EVENT_SCHEMA - MYSQL_TYPE_STRING (the database)
  EVENT_NAME - MYSQL_TYPE_STRING (the name)
  DEFINER - MYSQL_TYPE_STRING (user@host)
  EVENT_BODY - MYSQL_TYPE_STRING (the body from mysql.event)
  EVENT_TYPE - MYSQL_TYPE_STRING ("ONE TIME" | "RECURRING")
EXECUTE_AT - MYSQL_TYPE_TIMESTAMP (set for "ONE TIME" otherwise NULL)
INTERVAL_VALUE - MYSQL_TYPE_LONG (set for RECURRING otherwise NULL)
INTERVAL_FIELD - MYSQL_TYPE_STRING (set for RECURRING otherwise NULL)
  SQL_MODE - MYSQL_TYPE_STRING (for now NULL)
  STARTS - MYSQL_TYPE_TIMESTAMP (starts from mysql.event)
  ENDS - MYSQL_TYPE_TIMESTAMP (ends from mysql.event)
  STATUS - MYSQL_TYPE_STRING (ENABLED | DISABLED)
  ON_COMPLETION - MYSQL_TYPE_STRING (NOT PRESERVE | PRESERVE)
  CREATED - MYSQL_TYPE_TIMESTAMP
  LAST_ALTERED - MYSQL_TYPE_TIMESTAMP
  LAST_EXECUTED - MYSQL_TYPE_TIMESTAMP
  EVENT_COMMENT - MYSQL_TYPE_STRING

SQL_MODE is NULL for now, because the value is still not stored in mysql.event .
Support will be added as a fix for another bug.

This patch also adds SHOW [FULL] EVENTS [FROM db] [LIKE pattern]
1. SHOW EVENTS shows always only the events on the same user,
because the PK of mysql.event is (definer, db, name) several
users may have event with the same name -> no information disclosure.
2. SHOW FULL EVENTS - shows the events (in the current db as SHOW EVENTS)
of all users. The user has to have PROCESS privilege, if not then
SHOW FULL EVENTS behave like SHOW EVENTS.
3. If [FROM db] is specified then this db is considered.
4. Event names can be filtered with LIKE pattern.
SHOW EVENTS returns table with the following columns, which are subset of
the data which is returned by SELECT * FROM I_S.EVENTS
   Db
   Name
   Definer
   Type
   Execute at
   Interval value
   Interval field
   Starts
   Ends
   Status

mysql-test/lib/init_db.sql:
change the PK - (definer, db, name)
  quicker searches when SHOW EVENTS;
allow also different users to have events with the same name ->
  no information disclosure
mysql-test/r/events.result:
  result of new tests
mysql-test/r/information_schema.result:
  result of new tests
mysql-test/r/information_schema_db.result:
  result of new tests
mysql-test/r/system_mysql_db.result:
  result of new tests
mysql-test/t/events.test:
  new tests for information_schema.events
scripts/mysql_create_system_tables.sh:
change the PK of mysql.event to (definer, db, name)
scripts/mysql_fix_privilege_tables.sql:
change the PK of mysql.event to (definer, db, name)
sql/event.cc:
pass around the definer of the event because of the new PK
which is (definer, db, name). It's needed for index searching.
sql/event.h:
  - make enum evex_table_field again public so it can be used
  in sql_show.cc
  - make created and modified ulonglong, because they should be such
  - make public evex_open_event_table so it can be used in sql_show.cc
sql/event_executor.cc:
  - cosmetics
sql/event_priv.h:
  - moved enum evex_table_field and evex_open_event_table()
to event.h (made them therefore public)
sql/event_timed.cc:
  - in event_timed::init_definer() always fill this.definer with
the concatenated value of definer_user@definer_host. Makes
    later the work easier.
  - pass around the definer wherever is needed for searching
    (new prototype of evex_db_find_evex_aux)
sql/mysqld.cc:
  - add counter for SHOW EVENTS
sql/sql_lex.h:
  - register SHOW EVENTS as command
sql/sql_parse.cc:
  - handle SCH_EVENTS (I_S.EVENTS like SCH_TRIGGERS)
  - make additional check in case of SHOW EVENTS (check for EVENT on
the current database. if it is null check_access() gives appropriate
    message back.
sql/sql_show.cc:
  - add INFORMATION_SCHEMA.EVENTS and SHOW EVENTS
  - I_S.EVENTS.SQL_MODE is NULL for now -> not implemented. Trudy
asked to be added so bug #16642 can be completely closed. There
is another bug report which will fix the lack of storage of
    SQL_MODE during event creation.
sql/sql_yacc.yy:
  - always call event_timed::init_definer() when CREATE/ALTER/DROP
EVENT but not when just compiling the body of the event because
in this case this operation is not needed, it takes memory and
CPU time and at the end the result is not used. event_timed::definer
is used only on SQLCOM_CREATE/ALTER/DROP_EVENT execution not on
    statement compilation.
  - add SHOW [FULL] EVENTS [FROM db] [LIKE pattern]
in case of FULL and the user has PROCESS privilege then he will see
also others' events in the current database, otherwise the output
is the same as of SHOW EVENTS. Because the events are per DB only
the events from the current database are shown. pattern is applied
against event name. FROM db is self explanatory.
sql/table.h:
add SCH_EVENTS as part of INFORMATION_SCHEMA

70471e6ae2 Do not create log table handler if run in bootstrap mode.
This patch also fixes annoying complains on the log tables
absence, issued by the shell version of mysql-test-run.

sql/log.h:
check for the table log handler presence, as now it
could be absent in some cases. Namely, during bootstrap.
sql/mysqld.cc:
do not create log table handler, if run
  in bootstrap mode.
