The reason for ASAN report was that the MERGE and MYISAM file
had different key definitions, which is not allowed.
Fixed by ensuring that the MERGE code is not copying more key stats
than what is in the MyISAM file.
Other things:
- Give an error if different MyISAM files has different number of
key parts.
This fixed the MySQL bug# 20338 about misuse of double underscore
prefix __WIN__, which was old MySQL's idea of identifying Windows
Replace it by _WIN32 standard symbol for targeting Windows OS
(both 32 and 64 bit)
Not that connect storage engine is not fixed in this patch (must be
fixed in "upstream" branch)
Handle string length as size_t, consistently (almost always:))
Change function prototypes to accept size_t, where in the past
ulong or uint were used. change local/member variables to size_t
when appropriate.
This fix excludes rocksdb, spider,spider, sphinx and connect for now.
MyISAM in compute_vcols() - which is used only in mi_check code -
was computing indexed vcols into an internally allocated buffer
(not record[0]) and the buffer was calculated to be long enough to fit
every keyseg (a keyseg knows where its value in a record buffer is
and the length of the value).
This logic didn' work for prefix keys, because the keyseg length is the
length of a prefix, but the record buffer needs to fit the complete
value of a vcol. In this bug MyISAM was writing a 2K varchar
into a buffer too short.
Also it didn't work for repair-with-keycache, because that code
recalculats all vcols, not only indexed ones.
So, the buffer size (MYISAM_SHARE::vreclength) should include all
vcols' full lengths. But it was calculated in mi_open and low-level
MyISAM code has no knowledge of vcols.
As a fix we now recalculate MYISAM_SHARE::vreclength in
ha_myisam::setup_vcols_for_repair() which is always called
before compute_vcols().
Also, implement MDEV-11027 a little differently from 5.5 and 10.0:
recv_apply_hashed_log_recs(): Change the return type back to void
(DB_SUCCESS was always returned).
Report progress also via systemd using sd_notifyf().
my_readline can fail due to missing file. Make my_readline report this
condition separately so that we can catch it and report an appropriate
error message to the user.
TOCTOU bug. The path is checked to be valid, symlinks are resolved.
Then the resolved path is opened. Between the check and the open,
there's a window when one can replace some path component with a
symlink, bypassing validity checks.
Fix: after we resolved all symlinks in the path, don't allow open()
to resolve symlinks, there should be none.
Compared to the old MyISAM/Aria code:
* fastpath. Opening of not-symlinked files is just one open(),
no fn_format() and lstat() anymore.
* opening of symlinked tables doesn't do fn_format() and lstat() either.
it also doesn't to realpath() (which was lstat-ing every path
component), instead if opens every path component with O_PATH.
* share->data_file_name stores realpath(path) not readlink(path). So,
SHOW CREATE TABLE needs to do lstat/readlink() now (see ::info()),
and certain error messages (cannot open file "XXX") show the real
file path with all symlinks resolved.
Problem was that one internal record buffer in MYISAM was not big enough to handle virtual fields.
Fixed by extending buffer.
Fixed test case to 79 characters
* don't issue an error for ER_KEY_BASED_ON_GENERATED_VIRTUAL_COLUMN
* support keyread on vcols
* callback into the server to compute vcol values from mi_check/mi_repair
* DMLs just work. Automatically.
- Used same fix as for MyISAM: High level collation byte stored in unused
bit_end position.
- Moved language from header to base_info
- Removed unused bit_end part in HA_KEY_SEG
- Fixed bug that we where using wrong checksum algorithm when using VARCHAR with fixed lenth rows
- Ensure in myisampack that HA_OPTION_NULL_FIELDS is set for tables with null fields.
mysql-test/r/myisampack.result:
Updated results
mysql-test/t/myisampack.test:
Added more tests
storage/myisam/mi_open.c:
Use correct checksum algorithm when we have VARCHAR fields with fixed length records
storage/myisam/myisampack.c:
Ensure HA_OPTION_NULL_FIELDS is set for tables with null fields.
(This was not set by default for not compressed tables without checksums to keep MyISAM tables compatible with MySQL)
This is port of fix for MySQL BUG#17647863.

message:
Bug#17647863: MYSQL DOES NOT COMPILE ON OSX 10.9 GM
Rename test() macro to MY_TEST() to avoid conflict with libc++.
Problem description: Incorrect key file. Key file is corrupted,
while reading the keys from the file. The problem here is that
keyseg->start (which should point to the beginning of a field)
is pointing beyond total record length.
Fix: If keyseg->start is greater than total record length then
return error.
Problem description:
mysql server crashes when we run repair table on currupted table.
Analysis:
The problem with this bug seem to be key_reflength out of bounds
(186 according to debugger). We read this value from meta-data
segment of .MYI file while doing mi_open().
If you look into _mi_kpointer() you can see that the upper limit
for key_reflength is 7.
Solution:
In mi_open() there is a line like:
if (share->base.keystart > 65535 || share->base.rec_reflength > 8)
we should verify key_reflength here as well.
