8b9b7ec395 MDEV-5804: If same GTID is received on multiple master connections in multi-source replication, the event is double-executed causing corruption or replication failure
Some fixes, mainly to make it work in non-parallel replication mode also
(--slave-parallel-threads=0).

Patch should be fairly complete now.

2c2478b822 MDEV-5804: If same GTID is received on multiple master connections in multi-source replication, the event is double-executed causing corruption or replication failure
Before, the arrival of same GTID twice in multi-source replication
would cause double-apply or in gtid strict mode an error.

Keep the behaviour, but add an option --gtid-ignore-duplicates which
allows to correctly handle duplicates, ignoring all but the first.
This relies on the user ensuring correct configuration so that
sequence numbers are strictly increasing within each replication
domain; then duplicates can be detected simply by comparing the
sequence numbers against what is already applied.

Only one master connection (but possibly multiple parallel worker
threads within that connection) is allowed to apply events within
one replication domain at a time; any other connection that
receives a GTID in the same domain either discards it (if it is
already applied) or waits for the other connection to not have
any events to apply.

Intermediate patch, as proof-of-concept for testing. The main limitation
is that currently it is only implemented for parallel replication,
@@slave_parallel_threads > 0.

a692645145 Fixed bug found by Pavel Ivanov in Gtid_log_event.
- Removed double call to trans_begin() for GTID BEGIN event
- Don't set OPTION_BEGIN before calling trans_begin() as this causes extra work in trans_begin()

sql/log_event.cc:
  Removed double call to trans_begin for GTID BEGIN event.
  Don't set OPTION_BEGIN before calling trans_begin() as this causes extra work in trans_begin().
  This was done by removing parsing of "BEGIN" and instead executing trans_begin() direct.
  This is much faster, but we lost the ability logging of possible slow "BEGIN" statements. As this should never happen it can be ignored.

b5b8210849 MDEV-5754: MySQL 5.5 slaves cannot replicate from MariaDB 10.0
The problem was when a GTID event was part of a group commit, and so contained
a commit id. The code that replaces GTID with a BEGIN event for old slaves did
not correctly handle this case.

Fix the code so that the GTID with commit id can also be properly replaced
with a BEGIN query event. The extra two bytes are in the BEGIN event replaced
with a dummy, empty time zone string.

641feed481 MDEV-5764: START SLAVE UNTIL does not work with parallel replication
With parallel replication, there can be any number of events queued on
in-memory lists in the worker threads.

For normal STOP SLAVE, we want to skip executing any remaining events on those
lists and stop as quickly as possible.

However, for START SLAVE UNTIL, when the UNTIL position is reached in the SQL
driver thread, we must _not_ stop until all already queued events for the
workers have been executed - otherwise we would stop too early, before the
actual UNTIL position had been completely reached.

The code did not handle UNTIL correctly, stopping too early due to not
executing the queued events to completion. Fix this, and also implement that
an explicit STOP SLAVE in the middle (when the SQL driver thread has reached
the UNTIL position but the workers have not) _will_ cause an immediate stop.

cc7925765e MDEV-4937: sql_slave_skip_counter does not work with GTID
As a side-effect of purge_relay_logs(), sql_slave_skip_counter
was silently ignored in GTID mode.

But sql_slave_skip_counter in fact is not a good match with GTID.
And it is not really needed either, as users can explicitly set
@@gtid_slave_pos to skip specific GTIDs, in a way that matches
well how GTID replication works.

So with this patch, we give an error on attempts to set
sql_slave_skip_counter when using GTID, with a suggestion to use
gtid_slave_pos instead, if needed.

5426facdcb Replication changes for CREATE OR REPLACE TABLE
- CREATE TABLE is by default executed on the slave as CREATE OR REPLACE
- DROP TABLE is by default executed on the slave as DROP TABLE IF NOT EXISTS

This means that a slave will by default continue even if we try to create
a table that existed on the slave (the table will be deleted and re-created) or
if we try to drop a table that didn't exist on the slave.
This should be safe as instead of having the slave stop because of an inconsistency between
master and slave, it will fix the inconsistency.
Those that would prefer to get a stopped slave instead for the above cases can set slave_ddl_exec_mode to STRICT.

- Ensure that a CREATE OR REPLACE TABLE which dropped a table is replicated
- DROP TABLE that generated an error on master is handled as an identical DROP TABLE on the slave (IF NOT EXISTS is not added in this case)
- Added slave_ddl_exec_mode variable to decide how DDL's are replicated

New logic for handling BEGIN GTID ... COMMIT from the binary log:

- When we find a BEGIN GTID, we start a transaction and set OPTION_GTID_BEGIN
- When we find COMMIT, we reset OPTION_GTID_BEGIN and execute the normal COMMIT code.
- While OPTION_GTID_BEGIN is set:
  - We don't generate implict commits before or after statements
  - All tables are regarded as transactional tables in the binary log (to ensure things are executed exactly as on the master)
- We reset OPTION_GTID_BEGIN also on rollback

This will help ensuring that we don't get any sporadic commits (and thus new GTID's) on the slave and will help keep the GTID's between master and slave in sync.

bebb3427f2 Bug#16814264: FILTER OUT THE PERFORMANCE_SCHEMA RELAY LOG EVENTS FROM RELAY LOG
Performance schema tables are local to a server and they should not
  be allowed to be executed by the slave from the relay log.
  From 5.6.10, P_S events are not written into the binary log.
  But prior to that, from mysql 5.5 onwards, P_S events are written
  to the binary log by master.
  The following are problematic scenarios:

  1. Master 5.5 -> Slave 5.5
     ========================
    A) RBR: Slave crashes
    B) SBR: P_S statements are replicated.

  2.Master 5.5 -> Slave 5.6
    ========================
    A) RBR: SQL thd generates error
    B) SBR : P_S statements are replicated

  3. 5.5 binlog executed on a server 5.5 using mysqlbinlog|mysql
     =================================================================
     A) RBR: Server crash (because of BINLOG'... statement)
     B) SBR: P_S statements are executed

  4. 5.5 binlog executed on server 5.6 using mysqlbinlog|mysql
     ================================================================
     A) RBR: SQL error (because of BINLOG'... statement)
     B) SBR: P_S statements are executed.

    The generalized behaviour should be:
    a) Slave SQL thread should certainly ignore P_S events read from
       the relay log.
    b) mysqlbinlog|mysql should replay the binlog succesfully.

8765bec5a2 Bug#17081415:>=4GB ROW EVENT CRASHES SERVER WITH WILD MEMCPY
OF ROW DATA

Problem:
========
Inserting a row larger than 4G when server uses RBR leads
to crash.

Analysis:
========
Row-based binary logging logs changes in individual table
rows. During the execution of DML statements in RBR the
actual row data will be stored within "m_rows_buf" buffer
and this buffer contents will be written to binary log.
"m_rows_buf" is prepared within the following function
"Rows_log_event::do_add_row_data".

When a huge row is specified as in this bug scenario where
row size is 4294971520 > UINT_MAX (4294967295) then the
"m_rows_buf" is reallocated to accommodate the row data and
then the row is copied to the buffer. During this realloc
call, the length is getting type casted to "uint" which
results in overflow. Because of the overflow the reallocated
memory happens to be incorrect than what was requested
and it results in a crash during copy of rowdata to buffer.

Hence rows of size > 4GB cannot be written to binary log.
By default the event_length can be stored within 4 bytes
which in turn restricts an event's size to grow. Hence large
rows cannot be replicated using row based replication.

Fix:
===
An error is generated if the row size exceeds 4GB value.

sql/log_event.cc:
  An error is generated if the row size exceeds 4GB value.
  Debug simulations are added to test the fix.

7481cf6c29 BUG#17066269: AUTO_INC VALUE NOT PROPERLY GENERATED WITH RBR AND
AUTO_INC COLUMN ONLY ON SLAVE

In RBR, if the slave's table as one additional auto_inc column,
then, it will insert the value 0 instead of generating the next
auto_inc number.

We fix this by checking that if an auto_inc extra column exists,
when compared to column data of the row event, we explicitly set
it to NULL and flag the engine that a nulled auto_inc column will
be inserted.

5fa9664b07 Bug#17632978 SLAVE CRASHES IF ROW EVENT IS CORRUPTED
(MYSQLBINLOG -V CRASHES WITH THAT BINLOG)

Problem: If slave receives a corrupted row event,
slave server is crashing.

Analysis: When slave is unpacking the row event, it is
not validating the data before applying the event. If the
data is corrupted for eg: the length of a field is wrong,
it could end up reading wrong data leading to a crash.
A similar problem happens when mysqlbinlog tool is used
against a corrupted binlog using '-v' option. Due to -v
option, the tool tries to print the values of all the
fields. Corrupted field length could lead to a crash.

Fix: Before unpacking the field, a verification
will be made on the length. If it falls into the event
range, only then it will be unpacked. Otherwise,
"ER_SLAVE_CORRUPT_EVENT" error will be thrown.
Incase mysqlbinlog -v case, the field value will not be
printed and the processing of the file will be stopped.

dbfe5f4774 MDEV-5363: Make parallel replication waits killable
Add a test case for killing a waiting query in parallel replication.

Fix several bugs found:

 - We should not wakeup_subsequent_commits() in ha_rollback_trans(), since we
   do not know the right wakeup_error() to give.

 - When a wait_for_prior_commit() is killed, we must unregister from the
   waitee so we do not race and get an extra (non-kill) wakeup.

 - We need to deal with error propagation correctly in queue_for_group_commit
   when one thread is killed.

 - Fix one locking issue in queue_for_group_commit(), we could unlock the
   waitee lock too early and this end up processing wakeup() with insufficient
   locking.

 - Fix Xid_log_event::do_apply_event; if commit fails it must not update the
   in-memory @@gtid_slave_pos state.

 - Fix and cleanup some things in the rpl_parallel.cc error handling.

 - Add a missing check for killed in the slave sql driver thread, to avoid a
   race.

Problem:

Analysis:
========
During construction of LOAD EVENT or NEW LOAD EVENT object

MDEV-5217: Last_sql_error lost in parallel replication.

For some reason, the query execution code in log_event.cc call
rli->clear_error for each event (part of clear_all_errors()).
This causes a problem in parallel replication, where the
execution in one worker thread could clear the error set by
another thread, causing the SQL thread to stop but leaving no
error visible in SHOW SLAVE STATUS.

There seems to be no reason to clear the global error code
in Relay_log_info for each event execution, from code review
and from running the test suite. So remove this clearing of
the error code to make things work also in the parallel case.

57a267a8c0 Merge from 10.0-base to 10.0 the feature MDEV-4506: Parallel replication.
The merge is still missing a few hunks related to temporary tables and
InnoDB log file size. The associated code did not seem to exist in
10.0, so the merge of that needs more work. Until this is fixed, there
are a number of test failures as a result.

39df665a33 MDEV-5206: Incorrect slave old-style position in MDEV-4506, parallel replication.
In parallel replication, there are two kinds of events which are
executed in different ways.

Normal events that are part of event groups/transactions are executed
asynchroneously by being queued for a worker thread.

Other events like format description and rotate and such are executed
directly in the driver SQL thread.

If the direct execution of the other events were to update the old-style
position, then the position gets updated too far ahead, before the normal
events that have been queued for a worker thread have been executed. So
this patch adds some special cases to prevent such position updates ahead
of time, and instead queues dummy events for the worker threads, so that
they will at an appropriate time do the position updates instead.

(Also fix a race in a test case that happened to trigger while running
tests for this patch).

a09d2b105f MDEV-4506: Parallel replication.
Fix some more parts of old-style position updates.
Now we save in rgi some coordinates for master log and relay log, so
that in do_update_pos() we can use the right set of coordinates with
the right events.

The Rotate_log_event::do_update_pos() is fixed in the parallel case
to not directly update relay-log.info (as Rotate event runs directly
in the driver SQL thread, ahead of actual event execution). Instead,
group_master_log_file is updated as part of do_update_pos() in each
event execution.

In the parallel case, position updates happen in parallel without
any ordering, but taking care that position is not updated backwards.
Since position update happens only after event execution this leads
to the right result.

Also fix an access-after-free introduced in an earlier commit.

7681c6aa78 MDEV-4506: Parallel replication: Intermediate commit.
Fix some part of update of old-style coordinates in parallel replication:

 - Ignore XtraDB request for old-style coordinates, not meaningful for
   parallel replication (must use GTID to get crash-safe parallel slave).

 - Only update relay log coordinates forward, not backwards, to ensure
   that parallel threads do not conflict with each other.

 - Move future_event_relay_log_pos to rgi.

2b07397b20 Bug#17234370 LAST_INSERT_ID IS REPLICATED INCORRECTLY IF
REPLICATION FILTERS ARE USED.

Problem:
When Filtered-slave applies Int_var_log_event and when it
tries to write the event to its own binlog, LAST_INSERT_ID
value is written wrongly.

Analysis:
THD::stmt_depends_on_first_successful_insert_id_in_prev_stmt
is a variable which is set when LAST_INSERT_ID() is used by
a statement. If it is set, first_successful_insert_id_in_
prev_stmt_for_binlog will be stored in the statement-based
binlog. This variable is CUMULATIVE along the execution of
a stored function or trigger: if one substatement sets it
to 1 it will stay 1 until the function/trigger ends,
thus making sure that first_successful_insert_id_in_
prev_stmt_for_binlog does not change anymore and is
propagated to the caller for binlogging. This is achieved
using the following code
if(!stmt_depends_on_first_successful_insert_id_in_prev_stmt)
{
  /* It's the first time we read it */
  first_successful_insert_id_in_prev_stmt_for_binlog=
  first_successful_insert_id_in_prev_stmt;
  stmt_depends_on_first_successful_insert_id_in_prev_stmt= 1;
}

Slave server, after receiving Int_var_log_event event from
master, it is setting
stmt_depends_on_first_successful_insert_id_in_prev_stmt
to true(*which is wrong*) and not setting
first_successful_insert_id_in_prev_stmt_for_binlog. Because
of this problem, when the actual DML statement with
LAST_INSERT_ID() is parsed by slave SQL thread,
first_successful_insert_id_in_prev_stmt_for_binlog is not
set. Hence the value zero (default value) is written to
slave's binlog.

Why only *Filtered slave* is effected when the code is
in common place:
-------------------------------------------------------
In Query_log_event::do_apply_event,
THD::stmt_depends_on_first_successful_insert_id_in_prev_stmt
is reset to zero at the end of the function. In case of
normal slave (No Filters), this variable will be reset.
In Filtered slave, Slave SQL thread defers all IRU events's
execution until IRU's Query_log event is received. Once it
receives Query_log_event it executes all pending IRU events
and then it executes Query_log_event. Hence the variable is
not getting reset to 0, causing this bug.

Fix: As described above, the root cause was setting
THD::stmt_depends_on_first_successful_insert_id_in_prev_stmt
when Int_var_log_event was executed by a SQL thread. Hence
removing the problematic line from the code.
