5d510fdbf0 MDEV-18507 can't update temporary table when joined with table with triggers on read-only
triggers are opened and tables used in triggers are prelocked in
open_tables(). But multi-update can detect what tables will actually
be updated only later, after all main tables are opened.

Meaning, if a table is used in multi-update, but is not actually updated,
its on-update treggers will be opened and tables will be prelocked,
even if it's unnecessary. This can cause more tables to be
write-locked than needed, causing read_only errors, privilege errors
and lock waits.

Fix: don't open/prelock triggers unless table->updating is true.
In multi-update after setting table->updating=true, do a second
open_tables() for newly added tables, if any.

5057d46375 bugfix: multi-update checked privileges on views incorrectly
it always required UPDATE privilege on views, not being able to detect
when a views was not actually updated in multi-update.

fix: instead of marking all tables as "updating" by default,
only set "updating" on tables that will actually be updated
by multi-update. And mark the view "updating" if any of the
view's tables is.

b20d94da35 Bug #28499924: INCORRECT BEHAVIOR WITH UNION IN SUBQUERY
Issue:
------
When a subquery contains UNION the count of the number of
subquery columns is calculated incorrectly. Only the first
query block in the subquery's UNION is considered and an
array indexing goes out-of-bounds, and this is caught by an
assert.

Solution:
---------
Sum up the columns from all query blocks of the query
expression.

Change specific to 5.6/5.5:
---------------------------
The "child" points to the last query block of the UNION
(as opposed to 5.7+ where it points to the first member of
UNION). So "child->master_unit()->first_select()" is used
to reach the first query block of UNION.

55a2babcef Bug#24400628: DEBUG ASSETION KICKS IN WHEN LONG SUBPARTITION NAME
IS USED IN CREATE TABLE

The problem was that using a very long subpartition name could
lead to the server exiting abnormally.

This patch fixes the problem by reporting ER_TOO_LONG_IDENT
if a name with more than 64 characters are used as partition
and subpartition name.

557a57f3a2 Bug #21350175: SUBQUERIES IN PROCEDURE CLAUSE OF SELECT STATEMENT CAUSES SERVER FAILURES.
Analysis :
==========
During JOIN::prepare of sub-query which creates the
derived tables we call setup_procedure. Here we call
fix_fields for parameters of procedure clause. Calling
setup_procedure at this point may cause issue. If
sub-query is one of parameter being fixed it might
lead to complicated dependencies on derived tables
being prepared.

SOLUTION :
==========
In 5.6 with WL#6242, we have made procedure clause
parameters can only be NUM, so sub-queries are not
allowed as parameters. So in 5.5 we can block
sub-queries in procedure clause parameters.
This eliminates above conflicting dependencies.

64569fa81d parser: better error messages for CHECK/REPAIR VIEW
remove the code that checks for correct options for
for CHECK/REPAIR VIEW. Rewrite the grammar for the parser
to check that. This changes error messages as

c9f7948bc4 Bug #19892803: ASSERTION FAILED: N < M_SIZE WITH DISTINCT TIME
ISSUE:
------
We pre-allocate the ref_pointer_array before we resolve outer
references. This means that in some cases the
ref_pointer_array may not be large enough to hold all
references created. One such case is aggregate functions in
having clause of a subquery which may add items to select list
of outer query. So it is necessary to consider
select_n_having_items for subqueries while allocating
ref_pointer_array else we will get buffer overflow.

SOLUTION:
---------
Allocate a larger ref_pointer_array by aggregating
select_n_having_items for subqueries.
The fix in sql_yacc.yy is a backport from bug fix 18782905.

When parsing a field declaration, grab type information from LEX before it's overwritten
by further rules. Pass type information through the parser stack to the rule that needs it.

cdf72d51c6 BUG#17665767 - FAILING ASSERTION: PRIMARY_KEY_NO == -1 || PRIMARY_KEY_NO == 0
BACKGROUND:
This bug is a followup on Bug#16368875.
The assertion failure happens because in SQL layer the key
does not get promoted to PRIMARY KEY but InnoDB takes it
as PRIMARY KEY.

ANALYSIS:
Here we are trying to create an index on POINT (GEOMETRY)
data type which is a type of BLOB (since GEOMETRY is a
subclass of BLOB).
In general, we can't create an index over GEOMETRY family
type field unless we specify the length of the
keypart (similar to BLOB fields).
Only exception is the POINT field type. The POINT column
max size is 25. The problem is that the field is not treated
as PRIMARY KEY when we create a index on POINT column using
its max column size as key part prefix. The fix would allow
index on POINT column to be treated as PRIMARY KEY.

FIX:
Patch for Bug#16368875 is extended to take into account
GEOMETRY datatype, POINT in particular to consider it
as PRIMARY KEY in SQL layer.

When we are setting the value in a system variable, 
We can set it like 

set sys_var="Iden1.Iden2";		//1

set sys_var=Iden1.Iden2;		//3
set sys_var=.ident1.ident2; 		//4
set sys_var=`Iden1.Iden2`;		//5


While parsing, for case 1(when ANSI_QUOTES is enable) and 2,
we will take as string literal(we will make item of type Item_string).
for case 3 & 4, taken as Item_field, where Iden1 is a table name and
iden2 is a field name.
for case 5, again Item_field type, where iden1.iden2 is taken as
field name.


Now in case 1, when we are assigning some value to system variable
(which can take string or enumerate type data), we are setting only 
field part.
This means only iden2 value will be set for system variable. This 
result in wrong result.

Solution:

(for string type) We need to Document that we are not allowed to set 
system variable which takes string as identifier, otherwise result 
in unexpected behaviour.

(for enumerate type)
if we pass iden1.iden2, we will give an error ER_WRONG_TYPE_FOR_VAR
(Incorrect argument type to variable).

mysql-test/suite/sys_vars/t/general_log_file_basic.test:
  Earlier we used to give ER_WRONG_VALUE_FOR_VAR error, but in the patch of
  (Bug32748-Inconsistent handling of assignments to general_log_file/slow_query_log_file)
  they quoted this line.But i am not able to find any relation of this with the changes of
  patch. So i think We should give error in this case.

57400ee681 MDEV-5414: RAND() in a subselect : different behavior in MariaDB and MySQL
Materialization forced in case if rand() used in view or derived table to avoud several calls of rand for gting value of a field.

Fixed set variable uncachable flag from - it shouldbe a side effect not a random value.

6fc98018a4 MDEV-4902 - sql_yacc.yy incompatible with bison 3
- YYPARSE_PARAM and YYLEX_PARAM are removed in Bison 3.0. Deprecated
  since Bison 1.875 in favor of %lex-param, %parse-param.
- %parse-param adds an argument to yyerror() as well, updated
  MYSQLerror() accordingly.
- %parse-param allows to declare proper type for argument. That's
  what 99% of this patch is about.

LOAD DATA CAN CAUSE SQL INJECTION

Problem:
=======
A long SET expression in LOAD DATA is incorrectly truncated
when written to the binary log.

Analysis:
========
LOAD DATA statements are reconstructed once again before
they are written to the binary log. When SET clauses are
specified as part of LOAD DATA statement, these SET clause
user command strings need to be stored as it is inorder to
reconstruct the original user command.  At present these
strings are stored as part of SET clause item tree's
top most Item node's name itself which is incorrect. As an
Item::name can be of MAX_ALIAS_NAME (256) size. Hence the
name will get truncated to "255".

Because of this the rewritten LOAD DATA statement will be
terminated incorrectly.  When this statment is read back by
the mysqlbinlog tool it reads a starting single quote and
continuos to read till it finds an ending quote. Hence any
statement written post ending quote will be considered as
a new statement.

Fix:
===
As name field has length restriction the string value
should not be stored in Item::name.  A new String list is
maintained to store the SET expression values and this list
is read during reconstrution.

sql/sql_lex.cc:
  Clear the load data set string list during each query 
  execution.
sql/sql_lex.h:
  Added a new String list to store the load data operation's
  SET clause user command strings.
sql/sql_load.cc:
  Read the SET clause user command strings from load data
  set string list.
sql/sql_yacc.yy:
  Store the SET caluse user command string as part of load
  data set string list.

e013bf9f0e The bug
MDEV-4489 "Replication of big5, cp932, gbk, sjis strings makes wrong values on slave"
has been fixed.

Problem:
String constants of some Asian charsets (big5,cp932,gbk,sjis)
can have backslash '\' (0x5C) in the second byte of multi-byte characters.
Replicating of such constants using the standard '\'-escaping is dangerous.
Therefore, constants of these charsets are replicated using hex notation:
INSERT INTO t1 (a) VALUES (0x815C);

However, 0xHHHH constants do not work well in some cases,
because they can behave as strings and as numbers, depending on context
(for example, depending on the data type of the column in an INSERT statement).

This SQL script was not replicated correctly with statement-based replication:

SET NAMES gbk;
PREPARE STMT FROM 'INSERT INTO t1 (a) VALUES (?)';
SET @a = '1';
EXECUTE STMT USING @a;

The INSERT statement was replicated as:
INSERT INTO t1 (a) VALUES (0x31);

'1' was correctly converted to the number 1 on master.
But the 0x31 constant was treated as number 49 on slave.

Fix:

1. Binary log now uses X'HHHH' instead of 0xHHHH constants.
2. The X'HHHH' constants now work always as strings, in all contexts.
This is the SQL standard compliant behaviour.

After the fix, the above statement is replicated as:
INSERT INTO t1 (a) VALUES (X'31');
X'31' is treated as string '1' on slave, and is correctly converted to 1.
