b9890b0544 Fix for LP#634943 "marked as crashed", "zerofilling" and "wrong data in bitmap" when recovering Aria tables
This was an interaction of several bugs:
- Tables marked as opened was not properly unmarked on recovery if there was not changes since checkpoint
- zerofill of tables put wrong data in bitmap if directory for page was full
- Tables was thought as 'moved' during recovery if they had a create_lsn bigger than the lsn in the control file.


storage/maria/ha_maria.cc:
  If table is moved and crashed, threat it as crashed.
  (Not a related to this bug, but still good to have fixed)

  Make enough_free_entries_on_page() global
storage/maria/ma_blockrec.h:
  Make enough_free_entries_on_page() global
storage/maria/ma_check.c:
  If directory is full, mark page full. Fixes bug in zerofill
storage/maria/ma_open.c:
  Don't marke files as MOVED during recovery if create_trid > trnman_max_trid, as this fails for tables created after checkpoint.
storage/maria/ma_recovery.c:
  Reset open_count in file that was open during crash and was part of checkpoint.
  Fixed wrong warning of 'open count' after recovery of files that was not touched since checkpoint.
storage/maria/maria_chk.c:
  Changed not documented option --log-dir to --logdir
  Document more of the options.
  Clean up output for --help

  Added DBUG_PRINT

0f3d4b2f76 Fixed bug that 'maria_read_log -a' didn't set max_trid when reparing tables.
Fixed bug in Aria when replacing short keys with long keys and a key tree both overflow and underflow at same time.
Fixed several bugs when generating recovery logs when using RGQ with replacing long keys with short keys and vice versa.
Lots of new DBUG_ASSERT()'s
Added more information to recovery log to make it easier to know from where log entry orginated.
Introduced MARIA_PAGE->org_size that tells what the size of the page was in last log entry. This allows us to find out if all key changes for index page was logged.
Small code cleanups:
- Introduced _ma_log_key_changes() to log crc of key page changes
- Added share->max_index_block_size as max size of data one can put in key block (block_size - KEYPAGE_CHECKSUM_SIZE)
  This will later simplify adding a directory to index pages.
- Write page number instead of page postition to DBUG log



mysql-test/lib/v1/mysql-test-run.pl:
  Use --general-log instead of --log to disable warning when using RQG
sql/mysqld.cc:
  If we have already sent ok to client when we get an error, log this to stderr
  Don't disable option --log-output if CSV engine is not supported.

d13c54351d Remove compiler warnings (Including some warnings from -Wstrict-aliasing)
Don't use static link by default (in compile-pentium) as some new systems doesn't have all static libraries available
Change type for functions in plugin.h:str_mysql_ftparser_param() to const unsigned char and string lengths to size_t.
One effect of the above change is that one needs to include mysql_global.h or define size_t before including plugin.h
This fixes a case where mysql_client_test failed with newer gcc that enables strict-aliasing by default

8a715a5990 Fix for BUG#42180 "Maria: maria-recovery-bitmap.test fails repeatedly"
storage/maria/ma_loghandler.c:
  Normally, when we log LOGREC_LONG_TRANSACTION_ID, undo_lsn should be 0: assert this.
storage/maria/ma_test_force_start.pl:
  this script does not work with mtr2, make it use mtr1
storage/maria/trnman.c:
  The bug's cause was that: transaction would log LOGREC_LONG_TRANSACTION_ID, then Checkpoint would run
  and skip it (because its undo_lsn is still 0), then transaction would log REDO+UNDO, then crash. At Recovery,
  REDO phase would start from Checkpoint's record LSN, so wouldn't see LOGREC_LONG_TRANSACTION_ID, and
  as Checkpoint record does not mention transaction, transaction would be unknown, so its REDO+UNDO would
  be thrown away (assumed to belong to a transaction committed long ago as unknown), so transaction
  would not be rolled back, which is wrong. Fix is: it was wrong to skip a transaction if undo_lsn is 0;
  as soon as LOGREC_LONG_TRANSACTION_ID has been logged, it becomes potentially invisible to the REDO
  phase, and so we must include this transaction in the checkpoint record.

86fcfb1508 Fix for Bug#40311 Assert in MARIA_RECORD_POS during pushbuild 2 test:
Fixed bug when removing a newly inserted record (in case of duplicate key).
The bug caused a crash for rows with several blobs and the first blob was small enough to fit into the head page.
Don't change state_history if nothing changed (speed optimization that also simplifies logic).
Reset state_history if we added/deleted or updated rows without versioning.
Fixed wrong test in trnman_exists_active_transactions() if state is visible or not.

Other bugs fixed:
Fixed wrong argument to (lock->get_status) when we had to wait for TL_WRITE_CONCURRENT_INSERT.
Item_equal::update_used_tables() didn't calculate const_item_cache properly.
Added assert's to detect if join_read_const_table() was called under wrong assumptions..
Fixed that _ma_setup_live_state() is called from thr_lock() instead of handler::external_lock().
This was needed to get versioning information to be setup correctly.
Fixed error in debug binaries during a call to _ma_check_table_is_closed() when another thread was opening/closing a table.
Fixed wrong test when finding right history_state to use.

That failure of _ma_ck_real_delete() would mark table as corrupted (see
  in d_search()) which is error 126 (HA_ERR_CRASHED).

8d96bcda72 During Maria's checkpoint, use the proper mutex to read transaction's short_id

  During Maria's checkpoint, we walk the list of active transactions; in this list we may find a transaction with a short_id of 0 which means "uninitialized" (is being created right now) and want to ignore this transaction. Such short_id is set under trn->state_lock, so use this mutex to reliably read short_id during checkpoint.

  This is safe as trnman_get_min_trid() is used for trid optimization and all algoritms will work even if it returns a slightly older trid.
  
  Also ensure that LOCK_trn_list is unlocked in trnman_new_trn() in the very unlikely case that lf_hash_get_pins() fails

27dadbd895 wt: don't support a key as a union { ulonglong, void* }. Although convenient,
it forces the user to bzero a key before setting it as a pointer, otherwise
it'll have random content on architectures where
sizeof(void*) < sizeof(ulonglong).

Declaring a key as ulonglong only (not a union) makes this user mistake
impossible.

Store max_trid in index file as state.create_trid. This is used to pack all transids in the index pages relative to max possible transid for file.
Enable versioning for transactional tables with index. Tables with an auto-increment key, rtree or fulltext keys are not versioned.
Changed info->lastkey to type MARIA_KEY. Removed info->lastkey_length as this is now part of info->lastkey
Renamed old info->lastkey to info->lastkey_buff
Use exact key lenghts for keys, not USE_WHOLE_KEY
For partial key searches, use SEARCH_PART_KEY
When searching to insert new key on page, use SEARCH_INSERT to mark that key has rowid

722a8ebe5b Store maximum transaction id into control file at clean shutdown.
This can serve to maria_chk to check that trids found in rows and keys
are not too big. Also used by Recovery when logs are lost.
Options --require-control-file, --datadir, --log-dir (yes, the dashes are
inconsistent but I imitated mysqld --datadir and --maria-log-dir) for
maria_chk.
Lock control file _before_ reading its content.

All statements doing an implicit commit now also do one in Maria.
This is useful because LOCK TABLES; REPAIR; crash; is not rollback-able,
the implicit commit of REPAIR avoid that Recovery tries to rollback
and fails.
Fix for BUG#33827 "COMMIT AND CHAIN causes serious Valgrind error"
(maybe not the definite one, depends on the assigned dev).

d72c22dee4 WL#3072 - Maria recovery.
* fix for bitmap vs checkpoint bug which could lead to corrupted
tables in case of crashes at certain moments: a bitmap could be flushed
to disk even though it was inconsistent with the log (it could be
flushed before REDO-UNDO are written to the log). One bug remains, need
code from others. Tests added. Fix is to pin unflushable bitmap pages,
and let checkpoint wait for them to be flushable.
* fix for long_trid!=0 assertion failure at Recovery.
* less useless wakeups in the background flush|checkpoint thread.

  synchro with a concurrent checkpoint); but for INSERT/UPDATE this
  happens inside _ma_bitmap_release_unused() at a place where it already
  has the mutex, so the only penalty (mutex adding) is in DELETE and UNDO
  of INSERT. In case of errors after setting the bitmap unflushable,
  we must always set it back to flushable or checkpoint would block.
  Debug possibilities to force a sleep while the bitmap is over-allocated.
  In case of error in get_head_or_tail() in allocate_and_write_block_record(),
  we still need to unpin all pages.
  Bugfix: _ma_apply_redo_insert_row_blobs() produced wrong
  data_file_length.

cec8ac3e07 WL#3071 Maria checkpoint
Finally this is the real checkpoint code.
It however exhibits unstabilities when a checkpoint runs concurrently
with data-modifying clients (table corruption, transaction log's
assertions) so for now a checkpoint is taken only at startup after
recovery and at shutdown, i.e. not in concurrent situations. Later
we will let it run periodically, as well as flush dirty pages
periodically (almost all needed code is there already, only pagecache
code is written but not committed).

At the end of recovery, we initialize the transaction manager's
trid generator with the maximum trid seen during the REDO phase.
This ensures that trids always grow (needed for versioning),
even after a crash.
This patch is only preparation, as ma_recover() is not called
from ha_maria yet.

662002fc8f post-merge fixes, and fixes for some of the 16 compiler warnings
found in pushbuild on sapsrv1. Some not fixed as not repeatable
on my machine (32/64 bit issue?).
Fixes for some test failures:
- "maria-connect" now passes;
- "maria": after fixing the obvious reasons for failures, the test
went further and hit a more complex issues: difference in the output
of EXPLAIN output; not fixed;
- "ps_maria" still crashes in assertion
mysqld: ha_maria.cc:1627: virtual int ha_maria::index_read(uchar*, const uchar*, uint, ha_rkey_function): Ass
ertion `inited == INDEX' failed, as already observable in pushbuild.
All this might just be due to an incomplete merge of MyISAM changes
into Maria when 5.1 was last merged to mysql-maria.

1a96259191 - WL#3239 "log CREATE TABLE in Maria"
- WL#3240 "log DROP TABLE in Maria"
- similarly, log RENAME TABLE, REPAIR/OPTIMIZE TABLE, and
DELETE no_WHERE_clause (== the DELETE which just truncates the files)
- create_rename_lsn added to MARIA_SHARE's state
- all these operations (except DROP TABLE) also update the table's
create_rename_lsn, which is needed for the correctness of
Recovery (see function comment of _ma_repair_write_log_record()
in ma_check.c)
- write a COMMIT record when transaction commits.
- don't log REDOs/UNDOs if this is an internal temporary table
like inside ALTER TABLE (I expect this to be a big win). There was
already no logging for user-created "CREATE TEMPORARY" tables.
- don't fsync files/directories if the table is not transactional
- in translog_write_record(), autogenerate a 2-byte-id for the table
and log the "id->name" pair (LOGREC_FILE_ID); log
LOGREC_LONG_TRANSACTION_ID; automatically store
the table's 2-byte-id in any log record.
- preparations for Checkpoint: translog_get_horizon(); pausing Checkpoint
when some dirty pages are unknown; capturing trn->rec_lsn,
trn->first_undo_lsn for Checkpoint and log's low-water-mark computing.

704b39a158 - moving pagecache.h from include/ to storage/maria as it is Maria-
specific
- adding TRN::first_undo_lsn, needed to know when a log can be deleted;
this variable must be set under log's mutex and that leads to setting
TRN::rec_lsn, TRN::undo_lsn and TRN::first_undo_lsn in a
inwrite_rec_hook; adding implementation of one hook for REDOs and one
for UNDOs. Thus translog_write_record() always uses TRN and so does
not need a short_id argument, can find it from TRN.
- Monty's patch for the last Valgrind error in the tree.
- Log handler's unit tests fail but Sanja says it's known
