1ea5e402a8 MDEV-28727 ALTER TABLE ALGORITHM=NOCOPY does not work after upgrade
MDEV-20704 changed the rules of how (HA_BINARY_PACK_KEY |
HA_VAR_LENGTH_KEY) flags are added. Older FRMs before that fix had
these flags for DOUBLE index. After that fix when ALTER sees such old
FRM it thinks it cannot do instant alter because of failed
compare_keys_but_name(): it compares flags against tmp table created
by ALTER.

MDEV-20704 fix was actually not about DOUBLE type but about
FIELDFLAG_BLOB which affected DOUBLE. So there is no direct knowledge
that any other types were not affected.

The proposed fix under CHECK TABLE checks if FRM has
(HA_BINARY_PACK_KEY | HA_VAR_LENGTH_KEY) flags and was created prior
MDEV-20704 and if so issues "needs upgrade". When mysqlcheck and
mysql_upgrade see such status they issue ALTER TABLE FORCE and upgrade
the table to the version of server.

cad792c686 MDEV-28377: galera_as_slave_nonprim bind: Address already in use
This commit fixes a crash reported as MDEV-28377 and a number
of other crashes in automated tests with mtr that are related
to broken .cnf files in galera and galera_3nodes suites, which
happened when automatically migrating MDEV-26171 from 10.3 to
subsequent higher versions.

30bf0bca8f MDEV-27181: Galera SST scripts should use ssl_capath for CA directory
1. Galera SST scripts should use ssl_capath (not ssl_ca) for CA
directory. The current implementation tries to automatically
detect the path using the trailing slash in the ssl_ca variable
value, but this approach is not compatible with the server
configuration. Now, by analogy with the server, SST scripts
also use a separate ssl_capath variable. In addition, a similar
tcapath variable has been added for the old-style configuration
   (in the "sst" section).
2. Openssl utility detection made more reliable.
3. Removed extra spaces in automatically generated command lines -
to simplify debugging of the SST scripts.
4. In general, the code for detecting the presence or absence of
auxiliary utilities has been improved - it is made more reliable
in some configurations (and for shells other than bash).

f9ad8072cd MDEV-27042 UCA: Resetting contractions to ignorable does not work well
The weight scanner routine scanner_next() did not properly handle the cases
when a contraction produces no weights (is ignorable).

Adding a helper routine my_uca_scanner_set_weight() and using
it in all cases:

- A single ASCII character
- A contraction starting with an ASCII character
- A multi-byte character
- A contraction starting with a multi-byte character

Also adding two other helper routines:

- my_uca_scanner_next_expansion_weight()
- my_uca_scanner_set_weight_outside_maxchar()

to avoid using scanner->wbeg directly inside scanner_next().
This reduces the probability of similar future bugs.

1755ea4b49 MDEV-25444: mysql --binary-mode is not able to replay some mysqlbinlog outputs
Changes on top of Sachin’s patch. Specifically:
 1) Refined the parsing break condition to only change the parser’s
behavior for parsing strings in binary mode (behavior of \0 outside
of strings is unchanged).
 2) Prefixed binary_zero_insert.test with ‘mysql_’ to more clearly
associate the purpose of the test.
 3) As the input of the test contains binary zeros (0x5c00),
different text editors can visualize this sequence differently, and
Github would not display it at all. Therefore, the input itself was
consolidated into the test and created out of hex sequences to make
it easier to understand what is happening.
 4) Extended test to validate that the rows which correspond to the
INSERTS with 0x5c00 have the correct binary zero data.

10cd281820 MDEV-25444 mysql --binary-mode is not able to replay some mysqlbinlog outputs
Problem:- Some binary data is inserted into the table using Jconnector. When
binlog dump of the data is applied using mysql cleint it gives syntax error.

Reason:-
After investigating it turns out to be a issue of mysql client not able to properly
handle \\\0 <0 in binary>. In all binary files where mysql client fails to insert
these 2 bytes are commom (0x5c00)

Solution:-
I have changed mysql.cc to include for the possibility that binary string can
have \\\0 in it

f6549e9544 MDEV-18323 Convert MySQL JSON type to MariaDB TEXT in mysql_upgrade
This patch solves two key problems.
1. There is a type number clash between MySQL and MariaDB. The number
245, used for MariaDB Virtual Fields is the same as MySQL's JSON.
This leads to corrupt FRM errors if unhandled. The code properly
checks frm table version number and if it matches 5.7+ (until 10.0+)
it will assume it is dealing with a MySQL table with the JSON
   datatype.
2. MySQL JSON datatype uses a proprietary format to pack JSON data. The
patch introduces a datatype plugin which parses the format and convers
   it to its string representation.

The intended conversion path is to only use the JSON datatype within
ALTER TABLE <table> FORCE, to force a table recreate. This happens
during mysql_upgrade or via a direct ALTER TABLE <table> FORCE.

This allows us to replace strcmp() in my_charset_same() with comparisons
of pointers. This fixes a long standing performance issue that could cause
as strcmp() for every item sent trough the protocol class to the end user.

One consequence of this patch is that we don't allow one to add a character
definition in the Index.xml file that changes the csname of an existing
character set. This is by design as changing character set names of existing
ones is extremely dangerous, especially as some storage engines just records
character set numbers.

As we now have a hash over character set's csname, we can in the future
use that for faster access to a specific character set. This could be done
by changing the hash to non unique and use the hash to find the next
character set with same csname.

37c88445e3 mtr: use env for perl
On FreeBSD, perl isn't in /usr/bin, its in /usr/local/bin or
elsewhere in the path.

Like storage/{maria/unittest/,}ma_test_* , we use /usr/bin/env to
find perl and run it.

97b4686e2c MDEV-7021 allow config file parameter for mysql_install_db.exe
The new parameter is called --config

The config file is copied to the data directory as my.ini, and possibly
modified.

Bootstrap will now use my.ini to create tables. In case of non-standard
directory/file placements, this will ensure correct permissions for the
service user.

mysql_install_db_win test is extended to test --config with non-trivial
config file.

6f65931f88 MDEV-19906 Port show_old_temporals from MySQL 5.6
Old temporal data types (created with a pre-10.0 version of MariaDB)
are now displayed with a /* mariadb-5.3 */ comment in:

- SHOW CREATE TABLE
- DESCRIBE
- INFORMATION_SCHEMA.COLUMNS.COLUMN_TYPE

For example:

CREATE TABLE `t1` (
  `t0` datetime /* mariadb-5.3 */ DEFAULT NULL,
  `t6` datetime(6) /* mariadb-5.3 */ DEFAULT NULL
) ENGINE=MyISAM DEFAULT CHARSET=latin1

Note, new temporal data types are displayed without a format comment.
