5d510fdbf0 MDEV-18507 can't update temporary table when joined with table with triggers on read-only
triggers are opened and tables used in triggers are prelocked in
open_tables(). But multi-update can detect what tables will actually
be updated only later, after all main tables are opened.

Meaning, if a table is used in multi-update, but is not actually updated,
its on-update treggers will be opened and tables will be prelocked,
even if it's unnecessary. This can cause more tables to be
write-locked than needed, causing read_only errors, privilege errors
and lock waits.

Fix: don't open/prelock triggers unless table->updating is true.
In multi-update after setting table->updating=true, do a second
open_tables() for newly added tables, if any.

f2d549d8db MDEV-14784: Slave crashes in show_status_array upon running a trigger with
select from I_S

Problem:
========
When applier thread tries to access 'variable_name' of
INFORMATION_SCHEMA.SESSION_VARIABLES table through triggers, it results in an
abnormal exit of slave server.

Analysis:
========
At the time of replication of stored routines and triggers, their associated
security context will be sent by the master. The applier thread on the slave
server will use this information to set the required security context for the
execution of stored routines and triggers. This is achieved as follows.

->The stored routine object has a member named 'm_security_ctx' which holds the
  security context received from master.
->The applier thread's security_ctx is stored into a 'backup' object.

->Set the applier thread's security_ctx to 'm_security_ctx'.

->Upon the completion of stored routine execution restore the original security
  context of applier thread from the backup.

During the above process the 'm_security_ctx' object is not initialized
properly. Hence the 'external_user' of 'm_security_ctx' has invalid value for
this variable and accessing this variable results in abnormal exit of server.

Fix:
===
Invoke the Security_context::init() call from the constructor of stored routine
so that 'm_security_ctx' gets initialized properly.

e86580c3dd MDEV-11552 Queries executed by event scheduler are written to slow log incorrectly or not written at all
because thd->update_server_status() is used to measure the query time
for the slow log (not only to set protocol level flags),
it needs to be called also when the server isn't going to send
anything to the client.

fbf44eed3c BUG#22286421: NULL POINTER DEREFERENCE
ANALYSIS:
=========
A LEX_STRING structure pointer is processed during the
validation of a stored program name. During this processing,
there is a possibility of null pointer dereference.

FIX:
====
check_routine_name() is invoked by the parser by supplying a
non-empty string as the SP name. To avoid any potential calls
to check_routine_name() with NULL value, a debug assert has
been added to catch such cases.

dd25e7f0ad MDEV-6601 Assertion `!thd->in_active_multi_stmt_transa ction() || thd->in_multi_stmt_transaction_mode()' failed on executing a stored procedure with commit
Don't restore the whole of thd->server_status after a routine invocation,
only restore SERVER_STATUS_CURSOR_EXISTS and SERVER_STATUS_LAST_ROW_SENT,
as --ps --embedded needs.
In particular, don't restore SERVER_STATUS_IN_TRANS.

708ba733da MDEV-5138 Numerous test failures in "mtr --ps --embedded".
If a prepared statement calls an stored procedure,
     the thd->server_status out of the SP goes up
     to the PS and then to the client. So that the
     client gets the SERVER_STATUS_CURSOR_EXISTS status
     if the SP uses a cursor. Which makes the embedded
     server fail.
     Fixed by saving/restoring the upper-level server_status
     in sp_head::execute().

fc2c669297 Fix for bug#14188793 - "DEADLOCK CAUSED BY ALTER TABLE DOEN'T CLEAR
STATUS OF ROLLBACKED TRANSACTION" and bug #17054007 - "TRANSACTION
IS NOT FULLY ROLLED BACK IN CASE OF INNODB DEADLOCK".

The problem in the first bug report was that although deadlock involving
metadata locks was reported using the same error code and message as InnoDB
deadlock it didn't rollback transaction like the latter. This caused
confusion to users as in some cases after ER_LOCK_DEADLOCK transaction
could have been restarted immediately and in some cases rollback was
required.

The problem in the second bug report was that although InnoDB deadlock
caused transaction rollback in all storage engines it didn't cause release
of metadata locks. So concurrent DDL on the tables used in transaction was
blocked until implicit or explicit COMMIT or ROLLBACK was issued in the
connection which got InnoDB deadlock.

The former issue has stemmed from the fact that when support for detection
and reporting metadata locks deadlocks was added we erroneously assumed
that InnoDB doesn't rollback transaction on deadlock but only last statement
(while this is what happens on InnoDB lock timeout actually) and so didn't
implement rollback of transactions on MDL deadlocks.

The latter issue was caused by the fact that rollback of transaction due
to deadlock is carried out by setting THD::transaction_rollback_request
flag at the point where deadlock is detected and performing rollback
inside of trans_rollback_stmt() call when this flag is set. And
trans_rollback_stmt() is not aware of MDL locks, so no MDL locks are
released.

This patch solves these two problems in the following way:

- In case when MDL deadlock is detect transaction rollback is requested
  by setting THD::transaction_rollback_request flag.

- Code performing rollback of transaction if THD::transaction_rollback_request
  is moved out from trans_rollback_stmt(). Now we handle rollback request
  on the same level as we call trans_rollback_stmt() and release statement/
  transaction MDL locks.

d4be9e7bc0 If one declared several continue handler for the same condition on different level of stored procedures, all of them where executed.
Now we only execute the innermost of them (the most relevant).

The solution was to add a 'handled' marker to MYSQL_ERROR and mark all elements for which we have executed a condition handler.
When searching for new conditions, we will ignore any marked element.

776b569795 Bug#16056537: MYSQLD CRASHES IN ITEM_FUNC_GET_USER_VAR::FIX_LENGTH_AND_DEC()
The technical problem was that THD::user_var_events_alloc was reset to NULL
from a valid value when a stored program is executed during the PREPARE statement.

The user visible problem was that the server crashed if user issued a PREPARE
statement using some combination of stored functions and user variables.

The fix is to restore THD::user_var_events_alloc to the original value.
This is a minimal fix for 5.5.

More proper patch has been already implemented for 5.6+. It avoids
evaluation of stored functions for the PREPARE phase.

From the user point of view, this bug is a regression, introduced by the patch for WL2649
(Number-to-string conversions), revid: bar@mysql.com-20100211041725-ijbox021olab82nv
However, the code resetting THD::user_var_events_alloc exists even in 5.1.
The WL just changed the way arguments are converted to strings and the bug became visible.

This patch fixes the issue by ensuring that we use
dynamically allocated buffer for table key when table
alias is too long. By default stack based buffer is used
in which NAME_LEN bytes are reserved for table alias.

c22c9270fb Bug#12601974 - STORED PROCEDURE SQL_MODE=NO_BACKSLASH_ESCAPES IGNORED AND BREAKS REPLICATION
Analysis:
========================
sql_mode "NO_BACKSLASH_ESCAPES": When user want to use backslash as character input,
instead of escape character in a string literal then sql_mode can be set to 
"NO_BACKSLASH_ESCAPES". With this mode enabled, backslash becomes an ordinary 
character like any other. 

SQL_MODE set applies to the current client session. And while creating the stored 
procedure, MySQL stores the current sql_mode and always executes the stored 
procedure in sql_mode stored with the Procedure, regardless of the server SQL 
mode in effect when the routine is invoked.  

In the scenario (for which bug is reported), the routine is created with 
sql_mode=NO_BACKSLASH_ESCAPES. And routine is executed with the invoker sql_mode
is "" (NOT SET) by executing statement "call testp('Axel\'s')".
Since invoker sql_mode is "" (NOT_SET), the '\' in 'Axel\'s'(argument to function)
is considered as escape character and column "a" (of table "t1") values are 
updated with "Axel's". The binary log generated for above update operation is as below,

  set sql_mode=XXXXXX (for no_backslash_escapes)
  update test.t1 set a= NAME_CONST('var',_latin1'Axel\'s' COLLATE 'latin1_swedish_ci');

While logging stored procedure statements, the local variables (params) used in
statements are replaced with the NAME_CONST(var_name, var_value) (Internal function) 
(http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.6/en/miscellaneous-functions.html#function_name-const)

On slave, these logs are applied. NAME_CONST is parsed to get the variable and its
value. Since, stored procedure is created with sql_mode="NO_BACKSLASH_ESCAPES", the sql_mode
is also logged in. So that at slave this sql_mode is set before executing the statements
of routine.  So at slave, sql_mode is set to "NO_BACKSLASH_ESCAPES" and then while
parsing NAME_CONST of string variable, '\' is considered as NON ESCAPE character
and parsing reported error for "'" (as we have only one "'" no backslash). 

At slave, parsing was proper with sql_mode "NO_BACKSLASH_ESCAPES".

(n, r, ', ", \, 0...) should be avoided. To do so, added a check to not to
escape such characters while writing NAME_CONST for string variables in bin 
log. 
And when sql_mode is set to NO_BACKSLASH_ESCAPES, quote character "'" is
represented as ''.

(n, r, ', ", \, 0...) should be avoided. To do so, added a check to not to
escape such characters while writing NAME_CONST for string variables in bin 
log. 
And when sql_mode is set to NO_BACKSLASH_ESCAPES, quote character "'" is
represented as ''.
