Apply the changes to InnoDB and XtraDB that had been
inadvertently skipped in the merge
commit ae476868a5
That merge failure sabotaged part of MDEV-20127:
>Revert a problematic auto_increment_increment 'fix' from 2014.
>This involves replacing the MDEV-8827 fix and in 10.1,
>removing some WSREP instrumentation.
The code changes were re-merged manually by executing the following:

patch -p1
Problem: Clients running different values for auto_increment_increment
and doing concurrent inserts leads to "Duplicate key error" in one of them.
Analysis:
When auto_increment_increment value is reduced in a session,
InnoDB uses last auto_increment_increment value
to recalculate the autoinc value.
In case, some other session has inserted a value
with different auto_increment_increment, InnoDB recalculate
autoinc values based on current session previous auto_increment_increment
instead of considering the auto_increment_increment used for last insert
across all session
Fix:
revert 7acdf29cb4
a.k.a. 7c12a9e5c3
as it causing the bug.

Note: In MariaDB Server, earlier changes in
ae5bc05988
for MDEV-533 require that the original test in
mysql/mysql-server@1ccd472d63
be adjusted for MariaDB.
Also, ef47b62551 (MDEV-8827)
had to be reverted after the upstream fix had been backported.
fix innodb auto-increment handling
three bugs:
1. innobase_next_autoinc treated the case of current<offset incorrectly
2. ha_innobase::get_auto_increment didn't recalculate current when increment changed
3. ha_innobase::get_auto_increment didn't pass offset down to innobase_next_autoinc
In original code, sometimes one got an automatic DEFAULT value in some cases, in other cases not.
For example:
create table t1 (a int primary key) - No default
create table t2 (a int, primary key(a)) - DEFAULT 0
create table t1 SELECT .... - Default for all fields, even if they where defined as NOT NULL
ALTER TABLE ... MODIFY could sometimes add an unexpected DEFAULT value.
The patch is quite big because we had some many test cases that used
CREATE ... SELECT or CREATE ... (...PRIMARY KEY(xxx)) which doesn't have an automatic DEFAULT anymore.
Other things:
- Removed warnings from InnoDB when waiting from semaphore (got this when testing things with --big)
Merged lp:maria/maria-10.0-galera up to revision 3879.
Added a new functions to handler API to forcefully abort_transaction,
producing fake_trx_id, get_checkpoint and set_checkpoint for XA. These
were added for future possiblity to add more storage engines that
could use galera replication.
AUTO_INCREMENT_INCREMENT
Problem:
=======
When auto_increment_increment system variable decreases,
immediate next value of auto increment column is not affected.
Solution:
========
Get the previous inserted value of auto increment column by
subtracting the previous auto_increment_increment from next
auto increment value. After that calculate the current autoinc value
using newly changed auto_increment_increment variable.
Approved by Sunny [rb#4394]
create table t1 (a smallint primary key auto_increment);
insert into t1 values(32767);
insert into t1 values(NULL);
ERROR 1062 (23000): Duplicate entry '32767' for key 'PRIMARY
Now on always gets error HA_ERR_AUTOINC_RANGE=167 "Out of range value for column", independent of
store engine, SQL Mode or number of inserted rows. This is an unique error that is easier to test for in replication.
Another bug fix is that we now get an error when trying to insert a too big auto-generated value, even in non-strict mode.
Before one get insted the max column value inserted.
This patch also fixes some issues with inserting negative numbers in an auto-increment column.
Fixed the ER_DUP_ENTRY and HA_ERR_AUTOINC_ERANGE are compared the same between master and slave.
This ensures that replication works between an old server to a new slave for auto-increment overflow errors.
Added SQLSTATE errors for handler errors
Smaller bug fixes:
* Added warnings for duplicate key errors when using INSERT IGNORE
* Fixed bug when using --skip-log-bin followed by --log-bin, which did set log-bin to "0"
* Allow one to see how cmake is called by using --just-print --just-configure
BUILD/FINISH.sh:
--just-print --just-configure now shows how cmake would be invoked. Good for understanding parameters to cmake.

a negative number.

Fix the calculation of the next autoinc value when offset > 1. Some of the
results have changed due to the changes in the allocation calculation. The
new calculation will result in slightly bigger gaps for bulk inserts.

Backported from mysql-trunk (5.6)
storage/innobase/handler/handler0alter.cc:
for NEWDATE key_type says unsigned, thus col->prtype says unsigned,
but field->flags says signed. Use the same flag for value retrieval
that was used for value storage.
Auto increment value wraps when performing a bulk insert with
auto_increment_increment and auto_increment_offset greater than
one.
The fix:
If overflow happened then return MAX_ULONGLONG value as an
indication of overflow and check this before storing the
value into the field in update_auto_increment().
