e3d3147792 MDEV-13105 InnoDB fails to load a table with PAGE_COMPRESSION_LEVEL after upgrade from 10.1.20
When using innodb_page_size=16k, InnoDB tables
that were created in MariaDB 10.1.0 to 10.1.20 with
PAGE_COMPRESSED=1 and
PAGE_COMPRESSION_LEVEL=2 or PAGE_COMPRESSION_LEVEL=3
would fail to load.

fsp_flags_is_valid(): When using innodb_page_size=16k, use a
more strict check for .ibd files, with the assumption that
nobody would try to use different-page-size files.

56ff6f1b0b InnoDB: Remove dead code for DATA_POINT and DATA_VAR_POINT
The POINT data type is being treated just like any other
geometry data type in InnoDB. The fixed-length data type
DATA_POINT had been introduced in WL#6942 based on a
misunderstanding and without appropriate review.
Because of fundamental design problems (such as a
DEFAULT POINT(0 0) value secretly introduced by InnoDB),
the code was disabled in Oracle Bug#20415831 fix.

This patch removes the dead code and definitions that were
left behind by the Oracle Bug#20415831 patch.

c436338d9d Assert that DB_TRX_ID must be set on delete-marked records
This is preparation for MDEV-12288, which would set DB_TRX_ID=0
when purging history. Also with that change in place, delete-marked
records must always refer to an undo log record via a nonzero
DB_TRX_ID column. (The DB_TRX_ID is only present in clustered index
leaf page records.)

btr_cur_parse_del_mark_set_clust_rec(), rec_get_trx_id():
Statically allocate the offsets
(should never use the heap). Add some debug assertions.

Replace some use of rec_get_trx_id() with row_get_rec_trx_id().

trx_undo_report_row_operation(): Add some sanity checks that are
common for all operations that produce undo log.

bf262bd957 MDEV-11649 Uninitialized field fts_token->position in innodb_fts.innodb_fts_plugin
The field fts_token->position is not initialized in
row_merge_fts_doc_tokenize(). We cannot have that field
without changing the fulltext parser plugin ABI
(adding st_mysql_ftparser_boolean_info::position,
as it was done in MySQL 5.7 in WL#6943).

The InnoDB fulltext parser plugins "ngram" and "Mecab" that were
introduced in MySQL 5.7 do depend on that field. But the simple_parser
does not. Apparently, simple_parser is leaving the field as 0.

So, in our fix we will assume that the missing position field is 0.

0288fa619f Do allow writes for innodb_force_recovery=2 or 3
While the primary purpose of innodb_force_recovery is to allow
data to be rescued from an InnoDB instance that would crash due
to some data corruption, the settings 1, 2, or 3 are relatively
safe to use and there is no need to prevent write transactions
in these modes.

The setting innodb_force_recovery=4 and above can cause database
corruption. For those modes, we already set the flag
high_level_read_only to disable modifications, except DROP TABLE.

MODIFICATIONS_NOT_ALLOWED_MSG_FORCE_RECOVERY: Remove. There is no
need to spam the error log for each refused DML operation. It suffices
to return an error to the client. There will be messages at startup
if innodb_read_only or innodb_force_recovery are preventing writes.

e333d82964 MDEV-12398 All cluster nodes stop due to a foreign key constraint failure
Comment from Codership:-
To fix the problem, we changed the certification logic in galera to treat insert
on child table row as exclusive to prevent any operation on referenced
parent table row. At the same time, update and delete on
 child table row were demoted to "shared", which makes it possible to
update/delete referenced parent table row, but only in a later transaction.
 This change allows somewhat more concurrency for foreign key constrained
 transactions, but is still safe for correct certification end result.

50faeda4d6 Remove trx_t::has_search_latch and simplify debug code
When the btr_search_latch was split into an array of latches
in MySQL 5.7.8 as part of the Oracle Bug#20985298 fix, the "caching"
of the latch across storage engine API calls was removed, and
the field trx->has_search_latch would only be set during a short
time frame in the execution of row_search_mvcc(), which was
formerly called row_search_for_mysql().

This means that the column
INFORMATION_SCHEMA.INNODB_TRX.TRX_ADAPTIVE_HASH_LATCHED will always
report 0. That column cannot be removed in MariaDB 10.2, but it
can be removed in future releases.

trx_t::has_search_latch: Remove.

trx_assert_no_search_latch(): Remove.

row_sel_try_search_shortcut_for_mysql(): Remove a redundant condition
on trx->has_search_latch (it was always true).

sync_check_iterate(): Make the parameter const.

sync_check_functor_t: Make the operator() const, and remove result()
and the virtual destructor. There is no need to have mutable state
in the functors.

sync_checker<bool>: Replaces dict_sync_check and btrsea_sync_check.

sync_check: Replaces btrsea_sync_check.

dict_sync_check: Instantiated from sync_checker.

sync_allowed_latches: Use std::find() directly on the array.
Remove the std::vector.

TrxInInnoDB::enter(), TrxInInnoDB::exit(): Remove obviously redundant
debug assertions on trx->in_depth, and use equality comparison against 0
because it could be more efficient on some architectures.

72378a2583 MDEV-12873 InnoDB SYS_TABLES.TYPE incompatibility for PAGE_COMPRESSED=YES in MariaDB 10.2.2 to 10.2.6
Remove the SHARED_SPACE flag that was erroneously introduced in
MariaDB 10.2.2, and shift the SYS_TABLES.TYPE flags back to where
they were before MariaDB 10.2.2. While doing this, ensure that
tables created with affected MariaDB versions can be loaded,
and also ensure that tables created with MySQL 5.7 using the
TABLESPACE attribute cannot be loaded.

MariaDB 10.2.2 picked the SHARED_SPACE flag from MySQL 5.7,
shifting the MariaDB 10.1 flags PAGE_COMPRESSION, PAGE_COMPRESSION_LEVEL,
ATOMIC_WRITES by one bit. The SHARED_SPACE flag would always
be written as 0 by MariaDB, because MariaDB does not support
CREATE TABLESPACE or CREATE TABLE...TABLESPACE for InnoDB.

So, instead of the bits AALLLLCxxxxxxx we would have
AALLLLC0xxxxxxx if the table was created with MariaDB 10.2.2
to 10.2.6. (AA=ATOMIC_WRITES, LLLL=PAGE_COMPRESSION_LEVEL,
C=PAGE_COMPRESSED, xxxxxxx=7 bits that were not moved.)

PAGE_COMPRESSED=NO implies LLLLC=00000. That is not a problem.

If someone created a table in MariaDB 10.2.2 or 10.2.3 with
the attribute ATOMIC_WRITES=OFF (value 2; AA=10) and without
PAGE_COMPRESSED=YES or PAGE_COMPRESSION_LEVEL, the table should be
rejected. We ignore this problem, because it should be unlikely
for anyone to specify ATOMIC_WRITES=OFF, and because 10.2.2 and
10.2.2 were not mature releases. The value ATOMIC_WRITES=ON (1)
would be interpreted as ATOMIC_WRITES=OFF, but starting with
MariaDB 10.2.4 the ATOMIC_WRITES attribute is ignored.

PAGE_COMPRESSED=YES implies that PAGE_COMPRESSION_LEVEL be between
1 and 9 and that ROW_FORMAT be COMPACT or DYNAMIC. Thus, the affected
wrong bit pattern in SYS_TABLES.TYPE is of the form AALLLL10DB00001
where D signals the presence of a DATA DIRECTORY attribute and B is 1
for ROW_FORMAT=DYNAMIC and 0 for ROW_FORMAT=COMPACT. We must interpret
this bit pattern as AALLLL1DB00001 (discarding the extraneous 0 bit).

dict_sys_tables_rec_read(): Adjust the affected bit pattern when
reading the SYS_TABLES.TYPE column. In case of invalid flags,
report both SYS_TABLES.TYPE (after possible adjustment) and
SYS_TABLES.MIX_LEN.

dict_load_table_one(): Replace an unreachable condition on
!dict_tf2_is_valid() with a debug assertion. The flags will already
have been validated by dict_sys_tables_rec_read(); if that validation
fails, dict_load_table_low() will have failed.

fil_ibd_create(): Shorten an error message about a file pre-existing.

Datafile::validate_to_dd(): Clarify an error message about tablespace
flags mismatch.

ha_innobase::open(): Remove an unnecessary warning message.

dict_tf_is_valid(): Simplify and stricten the logic. Validate the
values of PAGE_COMPRESSION. Remove error log output; let the callers
handle that.

DICT_TF_BITS: Remove ATOMIC_WRITES, PAGE_ENCRYPTION, PAGE_ENCRYPTION_KEY.
The ATOMIC_WRITES is ignored once the SYS_TABLES.TYPE has been validated;
there is no need to store it in dict_table_t::flags. The PAGE_ENCRYPTION
and PAGE_ENCRYPTION_KEY are unused since MariaDB 10.1.4 (the GA release
was 10.1.8).

DICT_TF_BIT_MASK: Remove (unused).

FSP_FLAGS_MEM_ATOMIC_WRITES: Remove (the flags are never read).

row_import_read_v1(): Display an error if dict_tf_is_valid() fails.

58f87a41bd Remove some fields from dict_table_t
dict_table_t::thd: Remove. This was only used by btr_root_block_get()
for reporting decryption failures, and it was only assigned by
ha_innobase::open(), and never cleared. This could mean that if a
connection is closed, the pointer would become stale, and the server
could crash while trying to report the error. It could also mean
that an error is being reported to the wrong client. It is better
to use current_thd in this case, even though it could mean that if
the code is invoked from an InnoDB background operation, there would
be no connection to which to send the error message.

Remove dict_table_t::crypt_data and dict_table_t::page_0_read.
These fields were never read.

fil_open_single_table_tablespace(): Remove the parameter "table".

innodb.log_data_file_size: Test all innodb_page_size combinations.

fsp_header_init(): Never return an error. Move the change buffer creation
to the only caller that needs to do it.

btr_create(): Clean up the logic. Remove the error log messages.

buf_dblwr_create(): Try to return an error on non-fatal failure.

0c92794db3 Remove deprecated InnoDB file format parameters
The following options will be removed:

innodb_file_format
innodb_file_format_check
innodb_file_format_max
innodb_large_prefix

They have been deprecated in MySQL 5.7.7 (and MariaDB 10.2.2) in WL#7703.

The file_format column in two INFORMATION_SCHEMA tables will be removed:

innodb_sys_tablespaces
innodb_sys_tables

Code to update the file format tag at the end of page 0:5
(TRX_SYS_PAGE in the InnoDB system tablespace) will be removed.
When initializing a new database, the bytes will remain 0.

All references to the Barracuda file format will be removed.
Some references to the Antelope file format (meaning
ROW_FORMAT=REDUNDANT or ROW_FORMAT=COMPACT) will remain.

This basically ports WL#7704 from MySQL 8.0.0 to MariaDB 10.3.1:

73deafbc17 Remove dict_index_t::is_ngram

0bfa3dff8b MDEV-12698 innodb.innodb_stats_del_mark test failure
In my merge of the MySQL fix for Oracle Bug#23333990 / WL#9513
I overlooked some subsequent revisions to the test, and I also
failed to notice that the test is actually always failing.

Oracle introduced the parameter innodb_stats_include_delete_marked
but failed to consistently take it into account in FOREIGN KEY
constraints that involve CASCADE or SET NULL.

When innodb_stats_include_delete_marked=ON, obviously the purge of
delete-marked records should update the statistics as well.

One more omission was that statistics were never updated on ROLLBACK.
We are fixing that as well, properly taking into account the
parameter innodb_stats_include_delete_marked.

dict_stats_analyze_index_level(): Simplify an expression.
(Using the ternary operator with a constant operand is unnecessary
obfuscation.)

page_scan_method_t: Revert the change done by Oracle. Instead,
examine srv_stats_include_delete_marked directly where it is needed.

dict_stats_update_if_needed(): Renamed from
row_update_statistics_if_needed().

row_update_for_mysql_using_upd_graph(): Assert that the table statistics
are initialized, as guaranteed by ha_innobase::open(). Update the
statistics in a consistent way, both for FOREIGN KEY triggers and
for the main table. If FOREIGN KEY constraints exist, do not dereference
a freed pointer, but cache the proper value of node->is_delete so that
it matches prebuilt->table.

row_purge_record_func(): Update statistics if
innodb_stats_include_delete_marked=ON.

row_undo_ins(): Update statistics (on ROLLBACK of a fresh INSERT).
This is independent of the parameter; the record is not delete-marked.

row_undo_mod(): Update statistics on the ROLLBACK of updating key columns,
or (if innodb_stats_include_delete_marked=OFF) updating delete-marks.

innodb.innodb_stats_persistent: Renamed and extended from
innodb.innodb_stats_del_mark. Reduced the unnecessarily large dataset
from 262,144 to 32 rows. Test both values of the configuration
parameter innodb_stats_include_delete_marked.
Test that purge is updating the statistics.

innodb_fts.innodb_fts_multiple_index: Adjust the result. The test
is performing a ROLLBACK of an INSERT, which now affects the statistics.

include/wait_all_purged.inc: Moved from innodb.innodb_truncate_debug
to its own file.

9f89b94ba6 MDEV-12358 Work around what looks like a bug in GCC 7.1.0
The parameter thr of the function btr_cur_optimistic_insert()
is not declared as nonnull, but GCC 7.1.0 with -O3 is wrongly
optimizing away the first part of the condition
UNIV_UNLIKELY(thr && thr_get_trx(thr)->fake_changes)
when the function is being called by row_merge_insert_index_tuples()
with thr==NULL.

The fake_changes is an XtraDB addition. This GCC bug only appears
to have an impact on XtraDB, not InnoDB.

We work around the problem by not attempting to dereference thr
when both BTR_NO_LOCKING_FLAG and BTR_NO_UNDO_LOG_FLAG are set
in the flags. Probably BTR_NO_LOCKING_FLAG alone should suffice.

btr_cur_optimistic_insert(), btr_cur_pessimistic_insert(),
btr_cur_pessimistic_update(): Correct comments that disagree with
usage and with nonnull attributes. No other parameter than thr can
actually be NULL.

row_ins_duplicate_error_in_clust(): Remove an unused parameter.

innobase_is_fake_change(): Unused function; remove.

ibuf_insert_low(), row_log_table_apply(), row_log_apply(),
row_undo_mod_clust_low():
Because we will be passing BTR_NO_LOCKING_FLAG | BTR_NO_UNDO_LOG_FLAG
in the flags, the trx->fake_changes flag will be treated as false,
which is the right thing to do at these low-level operations
(change buffer merge, ALTER TABLE…LOCK=NONE, or ROLLBACK).
This might be fixing actual XtraDB bugs.

Other callers that pass these two flags are also passing thr=NULL,
implying fake_changes=false. (Some callers in ROLLBACK are passing
BTR_NO_LOCKING_FLAG and a nonnull thr. In these callers, fake_changes
better be false, to avoid corruption.)

This merge reverts commit 6ca4f693c1ce472e2b1bf7392607c2d1124b4293

Bug #23481444	OPTIMISER CALL ROW_SEARCH_MVCC() AND READ THE
                       INDEX APPLIED BY UNCOMMITTED ROW
Problem:
========
row_search_for_mysql() does whole table traversal for range query
even though the end range is passed. Whole table traversal happens
when the record is not with in transaction read view.

Solution:
=========

Convert the innodb last record of page to mysql format and compare
with end range if the traversal of row_search_mvcc() exceeds 100,
no ICP involved. If it is out of range then InnoDB can avoid the
whole table traversal. Need to refactor the code little bit to
make it compile.

956d2540c4 Remove redundant UT_LIST_INIT() calls
The macro UT_LIST_INIT() zero-initializes the UT_LIST_NODE.
There is no need to call this macro on a buffer that has
already been zero-initialized by mem_zalloc() or mem_heap_zalloc()
or similar.

For some reason, the statement UT_LIST_INIT(srv_sys->tasks) in
srv_init() caused a SIGSEGV on server startup when compiling with
GCC 7.1.0 for AMD64 using -O3. The zero-initialization was attempted
by the instruction movaps %xmm0,0x50(%rax), while the proper offset
of srv_sys->tasks would seem to have been 0x48.

ff16609374 MDEV-12674 Innodb_row_lock_current_waits has overflow
There is a race condition related to the variable
srv_stats.n_lock_wait_current_count, which is only
incremented and decremented by the function lock_wait_suspend_thread(),

The incrementing is protected by lock_sys->wait_mutex, but the
decrementing does not appear to be protected by anything.
This mismatch could allow the counter to be corrupted when a
transactional InnoDB table or record lock wait is terminating
roughly at the same time with the start of a wait on a
(possibly different) lock.

ib_counter_t: Remove some unused methods. Prevent instantiation for N=1.
Add an inc() method that takes a slot index as a parameter.

single_indexer_t: Remove.

simple_counter<typename Type, bool atomic=false>: A new counter wrapper.
Optionally use atomic memory operations for modifying the counter.
Aligned to the cache line size.

lsn_ctr_1_t, ulint_ctr_1_t, int64_ctr_1_t: Define as simple_counter<Type>.
These counters are either only incremented (and we do not care about
losing some increment operations), or the increment/decrement operations
are protected by some mutex.

srv_stats_t::os_log_pending_writes: Document that the number is protected
by log_sys->mutex.

srv_stats_t::n_lock_wait_current_count: Use simple_counter<ulint, true>,
that is, atomic inc() and dec() operations.

lock_wait_suspend_thread(): Release the mutexes before incrementing
the counters. Avoid acquiring the lock mutex if the lock wait has
already been resolved. Atomically increment and decrement
srv_stats.n_lock_wait_current_count.

row_insert_for_mysql(), row_update_for_mysql(),
row_update_cascade_for_mysql(): Use the inc() method with the trx->id
as the slot index. This is a non-functional change, just using
inc() instead of add(1).

buf_LRU_get_free_block(): Replace the method add(index, n) with inc().
There is no slot index in the simple_counter.

14fe6dd239 Bug #23046302 COUNT(*) MUCH SLOWER ON 5.7 THAN 5.6
ANALYSIS

This is regression caused due to worklog 6742 which
implemented ha_innobase::records() which always
uses clustered index to get the row count. Previously
optimizer chose secondary index which was smaller in
size of clustered index to scan for rows and resulted in
a quicker scan.

FIX

After discussion it was decided to remove this feature in 5.7.

4e41ac26f5 BUG#25082593 FOREIGN KEY VALIDATION DOESN'T NEED TO ACQUIRE GAP LOCK IN READ COMMITTED
Problem :
---------
This bug is filed from the base replication bug#25040331 where the
slave thread times out while INSERT operation waits on GAP lock taken
during Foreign Key validation.

The primary reason for the lock wait is because the statements are
getting replayed in different order. However, we also observed
two things ...

1. The slave thread could always use "Read Committed" isolation for
row level replication.

2. It is not necessary to have GAP locks in "READ Committed" isolation
level in innodb.

This bug is filed to address point(2) to avoid taking GAP locks during
Foreign Key validation.

Solution :
----------
Innodb is primarily designed for "Repeatable Read" and the GAP lock
behaviour is default. For "Read Committed" isolation, we have special
handling in row_search_mvcc to avoid taking the GAP lock while
scanning records.

While looking for Foreign Key, the code is following the default
behaviour taking GAP locks. The suggested fix is to avoid GAP
locking during FK validation similar to normal search operation
(row_search_mvcc) for "Read Committed" isolation level.

765a43605a MDEV-12253: Buffer pool blocks are accessed after they have been freed
Problem was that bpage was referenced after it was already freed
from LRU. Fixed by adding a new variable encrypted that is
passed down to buf_page_check_corrupt() and used in
buf_page_get_gen() to stop processing page read.

This patch should also address following test failures and
bugs:

MDEV-12419: IMPORT should not look up tablespace in
PageConverter::validate(). This is now removed.

MDEV-10099: encryption.innodb_onlinealter_encryption fails
sporadically in buildbot

MDEV-11420: encryption.innodb_encryption-page-compression
failed in buildbot

MDEV-11222: encryption.encrypt_and_grep failed in buildbot on P8

Removed dict_table_t::is_encrypted and dict_table_t::ibd_file_missing
and replaced these with dict_table_t::file_unreadable. Table
ibd file is missing if fil_get_space(space_id) returns NULL
and encrypted if not. Removed dict_table_t::is_corrupted field.

Ported FilSpace class from 10.2 and using that on buf_page_check_corrupt(),
buf_page_decrypt_after_read(), buf_page_encrypt_before_write(),
buf_dblwr_process(), buf_read_page(), dict_stats_save_defrag_stats().

Added test cases when enrypted page could be read while doing
redo log crash recovery. Also added test case for row compressed
blobs.

btr_cur_open_at_index_side_func(),
btr_cur_open_at_rnd_pos_func(): Avoid referencing block that is

buf_page_check_corrupt(): @return DB_SUCCESS if page has
been read and is not corrupted,
DB_PAGE_CORRUPTED if page based on checksum check is corrupted,
DB_DECRYPTION_FAILED if page post encryption checksum matches but
after decryption normal page checksum does not match. In read
case only DB_SUCCESS is possible.

Introduced dict_table_t::is_readable() and dict_index_t::is_readable()
that will return true if tablespace exists and pages read from
tablespace are not corrupted or page decryption failed.
Removed buf_page_t::key_version. After page decryption the
key version is not removed from page frame. For unencrypted
pages, old key_version is removed at buf_page_encrypt_before_write()

dict_stats_update_transient_for_index(),
dict_stats_update_transient()
        Do not continue if table decryption failed or table
        is corrupted.

dict0stats.cc: Introduced a dict_stats_report_error function
to avoid code duplication.

fil_parse_write_crypt_data():
        Check that key read from redo log entry is found from
        encryption plugin and if it is not, refuse to start.

PageConverter::validate(): Removed access to fil_space_t as
tablespace is not available during import.

Fixed error code on innodb.innodb test.

Merged test cased innodb-bad-key-change5 and innodb-bad-key-shutdown
to innodb-bad-key-change2.  Removed innodb-bad-key-change5 test.
Decreased unnecessary complexity on some long lasting tests.

Removed fil_inc_pending_ops(), fil_decr_pending_ops(),
fil_get_first_space(), fil_get_next_space(),
fil_get_first_space_safe(), fil_get_next_space_safe()
functions.

fil_space_verify_crypt_checksum(): Fixed bug found using ASAN
where FIL_PAGE_END_LSN_OLD_CHECKSUM field was incorrectly
accessed from row compressed tables. Fixed out of page frame
bug for row compressed tables in
fil_space_verify_crypt_checksum() found using ASAN. Incorrect
function was called for compressed table.

Added new tests for discard, rename table and drop (we should allow them
even when page decryption fails). Alter table rename is not allowed.
Added test for restart with innodb-force-recovery=1 when page read on
redo-recovery cant be decrypted. Added test for corrupted table where
both page data and FIL_PAGE_FILE_FLUSH_LSN_OR_KEY_VERSION is corrupted.

Adjusted the test case innodb_bug14147491 so that it does not anymore
expect crash. Instead table is just mostly not usable.

fil0fil.h: fil_space_acquire_low is not visible function
and fil_space_acquire and fil_space_acquire_silent are
inline functions. FilSpace class uses fil_space_acquire_low
directly.

recv_apply_hashed_log_recs() does not return anything.

d0ef1aaf61 MDEV-12123 Page contains nonzero PAGE_MAX_TRX_ID
When MDEV-6076 repurposed the field PAGE_MAX_TRX_ID, it was assumed
that the field always was 0 in the clustered index of old data files.
This was not the case in IMPORT TABLESPACE (introduced in MySQL 5.6
and MariaDB 10.0), which is writing the transaction ID to all index
pages, including clustered index pages.

This means that on a data file that was at some point of its life
IMPORTed to an InnoDB instance, MariaDB 10.2.4 or later could interpret
the transaction ID as a persistent AUTO_INCREMENT value.

This also means that future changes that repurpose PAGE_MAX_TRX_ID
in the clustered index may cause trouble with files that were imported
at some point of their life.

There is a separate minor issue that InnoDB is writing PAGE_MAX_TRX_ID
to every secondary index page, even though it is only needed on leaf
pages. From now on we will write PAGE_MAX_TRX_ID as 0 to non-leaf pages,
just to be able to keep stricter debug assertions.

btr_root_raise_and_insert(): Reset the PAGE_MAX_TRX_ID field on non-root
pages of the clustered index, and on the no-longer-leaf root page of
secondary indexes.

AbstractCallback::is_root_page(): Remove. Use page_is_root() instead.

7c767a30a7 MDEV-10139 Support for InnoDB SEQUENCE objects
We introduce a NO_ROLLBACK flag for InnoDB tables. This flag only works
for tables that have a single index. Apart from undo logging, this flag
will also prevent locking and the assignment of DB_ROW_ID or DB_TRX_ID,
and imply READ UNCOMMITTED isolation. It is assumed that the SQL layer
is guaranteeing mutual exclusion.

After the initial insert of the single record during CREATE SEQUENCE,
InnoDB will be updating the single record in-place. This is crash-safe
thanks to the redo log. (That is, after a crash after CREATE SEQUENCE
was committed, the effect of sequence operations will be observable
fully or not at all.)

When it comes to the durability of the updates of SEQUENCE in
InnoDB, there is a clear analogy to MDEV-6076 Persistent AUTO_INCREMENT.
The updates would be made persistent by the InnoDB redo log flush
at transaction commit or rollback (or XA PREPARE), provided that
innodb_log_flush_at_trx_commit=1.

Similar to AUTO_INCREMENT, it is possible that the update of a SEQUENCE
in a middle of transaction becomes durable before the COMMIT/ROLLBACK of
the transaction, in case the InnoDB redo log is being flushed as a result
of the a commit or rollback of some other transaction, or as a result of
a redo log checkpoint that can be initiated at any time by operations that
are writing redo log.

dict_table_t::no_rollback(): Check if the table does not support rollback.

BTR_NO_ROLLBACK: Logging and locking flags for no_rollback() tables.

DICT_TF_BITS: Add the NO_ROLLBACK flag.

row_ins_step(): Assign 0 to DB_ROW_ID and DB_TRX_ID, and skip
any locking for no-rollback tables. There will be only a single row
in no-rollback tables (or there must be a proper PRIMARY KEY).

row_search_mvcc(): Execute the READ UNCOMMITTED code path for
no-rollback tables.

ha_innobase::external_lock(), ha_innobase::store_lock():
Block CREATE/DROP SEQUENCE in innodb_read_only mode.
This probably has no effect for CREATE SEQUENCE, because already
ha_innobase::create() should have been called (and refused)
before external_lock() or store_lock() is called.

ha_innobase::store_lock(): For CREATE SEQUENCE, do not acquire any
InnoDB locks, even though TL_WRITE is being requested. (This is just
a performance optimization.)

innobase_copy_frm_flags_from_create_info(), row_drop_table_for_mysql():
Disable persistent statistics for no_rollback tables.

124bae082b MDEV-12289 Keep 128 persistent rollback segments for compatibility and performance
InnoDB divides the allocation of undo logs into rollback segments.
The DB_ROLL_PTR system column of clustered indexes can address up to
128 rollback segments (TRX_SYS_N_RSEGS). Originally, InnoDB only
created one rollback segment. In MySQL 5.5 or in the InnoDB Plugin
for MySQL 5.1, all 128 rollback segments were created.

MySQL 5.7 hard-codes the rollback segment IDs 1..32 for temporary undo logs.
On upgrade, unless a slow shutdown (innodb_fast_shutdown=0)
was performed on the old server instance, these rollback segments
could be in use by transactions that are in XA PREPARE state or
transactions that were left behind by a server kill followed by a
normal shutdown immediately after restart.

Persistent tables cannot refer to temporary undo logs or vice versa.
Therefore, we should keep two distinct sets of rollback segments:
one for persistent tables and another for temporary tables. In this way,
all 128 rollback segments will be available for both types of tables,
which could improve performance. Also, MariaDB 10.2 will remain more
compatible than MySQL 5.7 with data files from earlier versions of
MySQL or MariaDB.

trx_sys_t::temp_rsegs[TRX_SYS_N_RSEGS]: A new array of temporary
rollback segments. The trx_sys_t::rseg_array[TRX_SYS_N_RSEGS] will
be solely for persistent undo logs.

srv_tmp_undo_logs. Remove. Use the constant TRX_SYS_N_RSEGS.

srv_available_undo_logs: Change the type to ulong.

trx_rseg_get_on_id(): Remove. Instead, let the callers refer to
trx_sys directly.

trx_rseg_create(), trx_sysf_rseg_find_free(): Remove unneeded parameters.
These functions only deal with persistent undo logs.

trx_temp_rseg_create(): New function, to create all temporary rollback
segments at server startup.

trx_rseg_t::is_persistent(): Determine if the rollback segment is for
persistent tables.

trx_sys_is_noredo_rseg_slot(): Remove. The callers must know based on
context (such as table handle) whether the DB_ROLL_PTR is referring to
a persistent undo log.

trx_sys_create_rsegs(): Remove all parameters, which were always passed
as global variables. Instead, modify the global variables directly.

enum trx_rseg_type_t: Remove.

trx_t::get_temp_rseg(): A method to ensure that a temporary
rollback segment has been assigned for the transaction.

trx_t::assign_temp_rseg(): Replaces trx_assign_rseg().

trx_purge_free_segment(), trx_purge_truncate_rseg_history():
Remove the redundant variable noredo=false.
Temporary undo logs are discarded immediately at transaction commit
or rollback, not lazily by purge.

trx_purge_mark_undo_for_truncate(): Remove references to the
temporary rollback segments.

trx_purge_mark_undo_for_truncate(): Remove a check for temporary
rollback segments. Only the dedicated persistent undo log tablespaces
can be truncated.

trx_undo_get_undo_rec_low(), trx_undo_get_undo_rec(): Add the
parameter is_temp.

trx_rseg_mem_restore(): Split from trx_rseg_mem_create().
Initialize the undo log and the rollback segment from the file
data structures.

trx_sysf_get_n_rseg_slots(): Renamed from
trx_sysf_used_slots_for_redo_rseg(). Count the persistent
rollback segment headers that have been initialized.

trx_sys_close(): Also free trx_sys->temp_rsegs[].

get_next_redo_rseg(): Merged to trx_assign_rseg_low().

trx_assign_rseg_low(): Remove the parameters and access the
global variables directly. Revert to simple round-robin, now that
the whole trx_sys->rseg_array[] is for persistent undo log again.

get_next_noredo_rseg(): Moved to trx_t::assign_temp_rseg().

srv_undo_tablespaces_init(): Remove some parameters and use the
global variables directly. Clarify some error messages.

Adjust the test innodb.log_file. Apparently, before these changes,
InnoDB somehow ignored missing dedicated undo tablespace files that
are pointed by the TRX_SYS header page, possibly losing part of
essential transaction system state.

4e1116b2c6 MDEV-12271 Port MySQL 8.0 Bug#23150562 REMOVE UNIV_MUST_NOT_INLINE AND UNIV_NONINL
Also, remove empty .ic files that were not removed by my MySQL commit.

Problem:
InnoDB used to support a compilation mode that allowed to choose
whether the function definitions in .ic files are to be inlined or not.
This stopped making sense when InnoDB moved to C++ in MySQL 5.6
(and ha_innodb.cc started to #include .ic files), and more so in
MySQL 5.7 when inline methods and functions were introduced
in .h files.

Solution:
Remove all references to UNIV_NONINL and UNIV_MUST_NOT_INLINE from
all files, assuming that the symbols are never defined.
Remove the files fut0fut.cc and ut0byte.cc which only mattered when
UNIV_NONINL was defined.

MDEV-11581: Mariadb starts InnoDB encryption threads
when key has not changed or data scrubbing turned off

Background: Key rotation is based on background threads
(innodb-encryption-threads) periodically going through
all tablespaces on fil_system. For each tablespace
current used key version is compared to max key age
(innodb-encryption-rotate-key-age). This process
naturally takes CPU. Similarly, in same time need for
scrubbing is investigated. Currently, key rotation
is fully supported on Amazon AWS key management plugin
only but InnoDB does not have knowledge what key
management plugin is used.

This patch re-purposes innodb-encryption-rotate-key-age=0
to disable key rotation and background data scrubbing.
All new tables are added to special list for key rotation
and key rotation is based on sending a event to
background encryption threads instead of using periodic

13e5c9de80 MDEV-12219 Discard temporary undo logs at transaction commit
Starting with MySQL 5.7, temporary tables in InnoDB are handled
differently from persistent tables. Because temporary tables are
private to a connection, concurrency control and multi-versioning
(MVCC) are not applicable. For performance reasons, purge is
disabled as well. Rollback is supported for temporary tables;
that is why we have the temporary undo logs in the first place.

Because MVCC and purge are disabled for temporary tables, we should
discard all temporary undo logs already at transaction commit,
just like we discard the persistent insert_undo logs. Before this
change, update_undo logs were being preserved.

trx_temp_undo_t: A wrapper for temporary undo logs, comprising
a rollback segment and a single temporary undo log.

trx_rsegs_t::m_noredo: Use trx_temp_undo_t.
(Instead of insert_undo, update_undo, there will be a single undo.)

trx_is_noredo_rseg_updated(), trx_is_rseg_assigned(): Remove.

trx_undo_add_page(): Remove the parameter undo_ptr.
Acquire and release the rollback segment mutex inside the function.

trx_undo_free_last_page(): Remove the parameter trx.

trx_undo_truncate_end(): Remove the parameter trx, and add the
parameter is_temp. Clean up the code a bit.

trx_undo_assign_undo(): Split the parameter undo_ptr into rseg, undo.

trx_undo_commit_cleanup(): Renamed from trx_undo_insert_cleanup().
Replace the parameter undo_ptr with undo.
This will discard the temporary undo or insert_undo log at
commit/rollback.

trx_purge_add_update_undo_to_history(), trx_undo_update_cleanup():
Remove 3 parameters. Always operate on the persistent update_undo.

trx_serialise(): Renamed from trx_serialisation_number_get().

trx_write_serialisation_history(): Simplify the code flow.
If there are no persistent changes, do not update MONITOR_TRX_COMMIT_UNDO.

trx_commit_in_memory(): Simplify the logic, and add assertions.

trx_undo_page_report_modify(): Keep a direct reference to the
persistent update_undo log.

trx_undo_report_row_operation(): Simplify some code.
Always assign TRX_UNDO_INSERT for temporary undo logs.

trx_prepare_low(): Keep only one parameter. Prepare all 3 undo logs.

trx_roll_try_truncate(): Remove the parameter undo_ptr.
Try to truncate all 3 undo logs of the transaction.

trx_roll_pop_top_rec_of_trx_low(): Remove.

trx_roll_pop_top_rec_of_trx(): Remove the redundant parameter
trx->roll_limit. Clear roll_limit when exhausting the undo logs.
Consider all 3 undo logs at once, prioritizing the persistent
undo logs.

15bdfeeba8 Remove trx_sys_t::pending_purge_rseg_array.
In MySQL 5.7, there is some redundant code for supposedly handling
an upgrade from an earlier version of InnoDB.

An upgrade of InnoDB between major versions should include a
slow shutdown (innodb_fast_shutdown=0) of the previous version.

A comment in trx_lists_init_at_db_start() confused clean shutdown
and slow shutdown. A clean shutdown does not necessarily guarantee
that there are no active transactions. A slow shutdown guarantees
that.

Because there was no code to handle rollback of recovered transactions
that happened to use the rollback segment slots that MySQL 5.7.2
repurposed for temporary undo logs, the upgrade is not working in all
cases, and we may as well remove the code to handle purging.

trx_sys_t::pending_purge_rseg_array: Remove.

27b9989d31 MDEV-12121 Introduce build option WITH_INNODB_AHI to disable innodb_adaptive_hash_index
The InnoDB adaptive hash index is sometimes degrading the performance of
InnoDB, and it is sometimes disabled to get more consistent performance.
We should have a compile-time option to disable the adaptive hash index.

Let us introduce two options:

OPTION(WITH_INNODB_AHI "Include innodb_adaptive_hash_index" ON)
OPTION(WITH_INNODB_ROOT_GUESS "Cache index root block descriptors" ON)

where WITH_INNODB_AHI always implies WITH_INNODB_ROOT_GUESS.

As part of this change, the misleadingly named function
trx_search_latch_release_if_reserved(trx) will be replaced with the macro
trx_assert_no_search_latch(trx) that will be empty unless
BTR_CUR_HASH_ADAPT is defined (cmake -DWITH_INNODB_AHI=ON).

We will also remove the unused column
INFORMATION_SCHEMA.INNODB_TRX.TRX_ADAPTIVE_HASH_TIMEOUT.
In MariaDB Server 10.1, it used to reflect the value of
trx_t::search_latch_timeout which could be adjusted during
row_search_for_mysql(). In 10.2, there is no such field.

Other than the removal of the unused column TRX_ADAPTIVE_HASH_TIMEOUT,
this is an almost non-functional change to the server when using the
default build options.

Some tests are adjusted so that they will work with both
-DWITH_INNODB_AHI=ON and -DWITH_INNODB_AHI=OFF. The test
innodb.innodb_monitor has been renamed to innodb.monitor
in order to track MySQL 5.7, and the duplicate tests
sys_vars.innodb_monitor_* are removed.

Oracle introduced a Memcached plugin interface to the InnoDB

persisting the used maximum length in the SYS_COLUMNS table in the
InnoDB data dictionary.

This fix also removes some unnecessary strcmp() calls when checking
for the legacy default collation my_charset_latin1
(my_charset_latin1.name=="latin1_swedish_ci").

fts_create_one_index_table(): Store the actual length in bytes.
This metadata will be written to the SYS_COLUMNS table.

fts_zip_initialize(): Initialize only the first byte of the buffer.
Actually the code should not even care about this first byte, because
the length is set as 0.

FTX_MAX_WORD_LEN: Define as HA_FT_MAXCHARLEN * 4 aka 336 bytes,
not as 254 bytes.

row_merge_create_fts_sort_index(): Set the actual maximum length of the
column in bytes, similar to fts_create_one_index_table().

row_merge_fts_doc_tokenize(): Remove the redundant parameter word_dtype.
Use the actual maximum length of the column. Calculate the extra_size
in the same way as row_merge_buf_encode() does.

This is the final preparation for the merge of MDEV-11623
from MariaDB Server 10.1 (correcting the assignment of
FSP_SPACE_FLAGS in MariaDB Server 10.1).

We must avoid reading FSP_SPACE_FLAGS directly from page 0,
because the flags that affect the uncompressed page size
cannot be trusted if we are upgrading from MariaDB 10.1.

We will pass fil_space_t* instead of a numeric tablespace ID
in many low-level functions, so that fil_space_t::flags
will be available. This will also reduce the amount o
tablespace ID lookups and the pressure on fil_system->mutex.

7cf97ed4ee MDEV-11816 Disallow CREATE TEMPORARY TABLE…ROW_FORMAT=COMPRESSED
MySQL 5.7 allows temporary tables to be created in ROW_FORMAT=COMPRESSED.
The usefulness of this is questionable. WL#7899 in MySQL 8.0.0
prevents the creation of such compressed tables, so that all InnoDB
temporary tables will be located inside the predefined
InnoDB temporary tablespace.

Pick up and adjust some tests from MySQL 5.7 and 8.0.

dict_tf_to_fsp_flags(): Remove the parameter is_temp.
fsp_flags_init(): Remove the parameter is_temporary.

row_mysql_drop_temp_tables(): Remove. There cannot be any temporary
tables in InnoDB. (This never removed #sql* tables in the datadir
which were created by DDL.)

dict_table_t::dir_path_of_temp_table: Remove.

create_table_info_t::m_temp_path: Remove.

create_table_info_t::create_options_are_invalid(): Do not allow
ROW_FORMAT=COMPRESSED or KEY_BLOCK_SIZE for temporary tables.

create_table_info_t::innobase_table_flags(): Do not unnecessarily
prevent CREATE TEMPORARY TABLE with SPATIAL INDEX.
(MySQL 5.7 does allow this.)

This will also remove traces of PUNCH_HOLE until it is implemented

ab1e6fefd8 MDEV-11623 MariaDB 10.1 fails to start datadir created with
MariaDB 10.0/MySQL 5.6 using innodb-page-size!=16K

The storage format of FSP_SPACE_FLAGS was accidentally broken
already in MariaDB 10.1.0. This fix is bringing the format in
line with other MySQL and MariaDB release series.

Please refer to the comments that were added to fsp0fsp.h
for details.

This is an INCOMPATIBLE CHANGE that affects users of
page_compression and non-default innodb_page_size. Upgrading
to this release will correct the flags in the data files.
If you want to downgrade to earlier MariaDB 10.1.x, please refer
to the test innodb.101_compatibility how to reset the
FSP_SPACE_FLAGS in the files.

NOTE: MariaDB 10.1.0 to 10.1.20 can misinterpret
uncompressed data files with innodb_page_size=4k or 64k as
compressed innodb_page_size=16k files, and then probably fail
when trying to access the pages. See the comments in the
function fsp_flags_convert_from_101() for detailed analysis.

Move PAGE_COMPRESSION to FSP_SPACE_FLAGS bit position 16.
In this way, compressed innodb_page_size=16k tablespaces will not
be mistaken for uncompressed ones by MariaDB 10.1.0 to 10.1.20.

Derive PAGE_COMPRESSION_LEVEL, ATOMIC_WRITES and DATA_DIR from the
dict_table_t::flags when the table is available, in
fil_space_for_table_exists_in_mem() or fil_open_single_table_tablespace().
During crash recovery, fil_load_single_table_tablespace() will use
innodb_compression_level for the PAGE_COMPRESSION_LEVEL.

FSP_FLAGS_MEM_MASK: A bitmap of the memory-only fil_space_t::flags
that are not to be written to FSP_SPACE_FLAGS. Currently, these will
include PAGE_COMPRESSION_LEVEL, ATOMIC_WRITES and DATA_DIR.

Introduce the macro FSP_FLAGS_PAGE_SSIZE(). We only support
one innodb_page_size for the whole instance.

When creating a dummy tablespace for the redo log, use
fil_space_t::flags=0. The flags are never written to the redo log files.

Remove many FSP_FLAGS_SET_ macros.

dict_tf_verify_flags(): Remove. This is basically only duplicating
the logic of dict_tf_to_fsp_flags(), used in a debug assertion.

fil_space_t::mark: Remove. This flag was not used for anything.

fil_space_for_table_exists_in_mem(): Remove the unnecessary parameter
mark_space, and add a parameter for table flags. Check that
fil_space_t::flags match the table flags, and adjust the (memory-only)
flags based on the table flags.

fil_node_open_file(): Remove some redundant or unreachable conditions,
do not use stderr for output, and avoid unnecessary server aborts.

fil_user_tablespace_restore_page(): Convert the flags, so that the
correct page_size will be used when restoring a page from the
doublewrite buffer.

fil_space_get_page_compressed(), fsp_flags_is_page_compressed(): Remove.
It suffices to have fil_space_is_page_compressed().

FSP_FLAGS_WIDTH_DATA_DIR, FSP_FLAGS_WIDTH_PAGE_COMPRESSION_LEVEL,
FSP_FLAGS_WIDTH_ATOMIC_WRITES: Remove, because these flags do not
exist in the FSP_SPACE_FLAGS but only in memory.

fsp_flags_try_adjust(): New function, to adjust the FSP_SPACE_FLAGS
in page 0. Called by fil_open_single_table_tablespace(),
fil_space_for_table_exists_in_mem(), innobase_start_or_create_for_mysql()
except if --innodb-read-only is active.

fsp_flags_is_valid(ulint): Reimplement from the scratch, with
accurate comments. Do not display any details of detected
inconsistencies, because the output could be confusing when
dealing with MariaDB 10.1.x data files.

fsp_flags_convert_from_101(ulint): Convert flags from buggy
MariaDB 10.1.x format, or return ULINT_UNDEFINED if the flags
cannot be in MariaDB 10.1.x format.

fsp_flags_match(): Check the flags when probing files.
Implemented based on fsp_flags_is_valid()
and fsp_flags_convert_from_101().

dict_check_tablespaces_and_store_max_id(): Do not access the
page after committing the mini-transaction.

IMPORT TABLESPACE fixes:

AbstractCallback::init(): Convert the flags.

FetchIndexRootPages::operator(): Check that the tablespace flags match the
table flags. Do not attempt to convert tablespace flags to table flags,
because the conversion would necessarily be lossy.

PageConverter::update_header(): Write back the correct flags.
This takes care of the flags in IMPORT TABLESPACE.

Replace all exit() calls in InnoDB with abort() [possibly via ut_a()].
Calling exit() in a multi-threaded program is problematic also for

8375a2c1ce MDEV-11585 Hard-code the shared InnoDB temporary tablespace ID at -1
MySQL 5.7 supports only one shared temporary tablespace.

MariaDB 10.2 does not support any other shared InnoDB tablespaces than
the two predefined tablespaces: the persistent InnoDB system tablespace
(default file name ibdata1) and the temporary tablespace
(default file name ibtmp1).

InnoDB is unnecessarily allocating a tablespace ID for the predefined
temporary tablespace on every startup, and it is in several places
testing whether a tablespace ID matches this dynamically generated ID.

We should use a compile-time constant to reduce code size and to avoid
unnecessary updates to the DICT_HDR page at every startup.

Using a hard-coded tablespace ID will should make it easier to remove the
TEMPORARY flag from FSP_SPACE_FLAGS in MDEV-11202.

8777458a6e MDEV-6076 Persistent AUTO_INCREMENT for InnoDB
This should be functionally equivalent to WL#6204 in MySQL 8.0.0, with
the notable difference that the file format changes are limited to
repurposing a previously unused data field in B-tree pages.

For persistent InnoDB tables, write the last used AUTO_INCREMENT
value to the root page of the clustered index, in the previously
unused (0) PAGE_MAX_TRX_ID field, now aliased as PAGE_ROOT_AUTO_INC.
Unlike some other previously unused InnoDB data fields, this one was
actually always zero-initialized, at least since MySQL 3.23.49.

The writes to PAGE_ROOT_AUTO_INC are protected by SX or X latch on the
root page. The SX latch will allow concurrent read access to the root
page. (The field PAGE_ROOT_AUTO_INC will only be read on the
first-time call to ha_innobase::open() from the SQL layer. The
PAGE_ROOT_AUTO_INC can only be updated when executing SQL, so
read/write races are not possible.)

During INSERT, the PAGE_ROOT_AUTO_INC is updated by the low-level
function btr_cur_search_to_nth_level(), adding no extra page
access. [Adaptive hash index lookup will be disabled during INSERT.]

If some rare UPDATE modifies an AUTO_INCREMENT column, the
PAGE_ROOT_AUTO_INC will be adjusted in a separate mini-transaction in
ha_innobase::update_row().

When a page is reorganized, we have to preserve the PAGE_ROOT_AUTO_INC
field.

During ALTER TABLE, the initial AUTO_INCREMENT value will be copied
from the table. ALGORITHM=COPY and online log apply in LOCK=NONE will
update PAGE_ROOT_AUTO_INC in real time.

innodb_col_no(): Determine the dict_table_t::cols[] element index
corresponding to a Field of a non-virtual column.
(The MySQL 5.7 implementation of virtual columns breaks the 1:1
relationship between Field::field_index and dict_table_t::cols[].
Virtual columns are omitted from dict_table_t::cols[]. Therefore,
we must translate the field_index of AUTO_INCREMENT columns into
an index of dict_table_t::cols[].)

Upgrade from old data files:

By default, the AUTO_INCREMENT sequence in old data files would appear
to be reset, because PAGE_MAX_TRX_ID or PAGE_ROOT_AUTO_INC would contain
the value 0 in each clustered index page. In new data files,
PAGE_ROOT_AUTO_INC can only be 0 if the table is empty or does not contain
any AUTO_INCREMENT column.

For backward compatibility, we use the old method of
SELECT MAX(auto_increment_column) for initializing the sequence.

btr_read_autoinc(): Read the AUTO_INCREMENT sequence from a new-format
data file.

btr_read_autoinc_with_fallback(): A variant of btr_read_autoinc()
that will resort to reading MAX(auto_increment_column) for data files
that did not use AUTO_INCREMENT yet. It was manually tested that during
the execution of innodb.autoinc_persist the compatibility logic is
not activated (for new files, PAGE_ROOT_AUTO_INC is never 0 in nonempty
clustered index root pages).

initialize_auto_increment(): Replaces
ha_innobase::innobase_initialize_autoinc(). This initializes
the AUTO_INCREMENT metadata. Only called from ha_innobase::open().

ha_innobase::info_low(): Do not try to lazily initialize
dict_table_t::autoinc. It must already have been initialized by
ha_innobase::open() or ha_innobase::create().

Note: The adjustments to class ha_innopart were not tested, because
the source code (native InnoDB partitioning) is not being compiled.

cc85ba8f2e MDEV-11233 CREATE FULLTEXT INDEX with a token longer than 127 bytes

This bug is the result of merging the Oracle MySQL follow-up fix
BUG#22963169 MYSQL CRASHES ON CREATE FULLTEXT INDEX
without merging the base bug fix:
Bug#79475 Insert a token of 84 4-bytes chars into fts index causes

Unlike the above mentioned fixes in MySQL, our fix will not change
the storage format of fulltext indexes in InnoDB or XtraDB
when a character encoding with mbmaxlen=2 or mbmaxlen=3
and the length of a word is between 128 and 84*mbmaxlen bytes.
The Oracle fix would allocate 2 length bytes for these cases.

Compatibility with other MySQL and MariaDB releases is ensured by
persisting the used maximum length in the SYS_COLUMNS table in the
InnoDB data dictionary.

This fix also removes some unnecessary strcmp() calls when checking
for the legacy default collation my_charset_latin1

when a character encoding with mbmaxlen=2 or mbmaxlen=3
and the length of a word is between 128 and 84*mbmaxlen bytes.

(my_charset_latin1.name=="latin1_swedish_ci").

fts_create_one_index_table(): Store the actual length in bytes.

In functions that declare pointer parameters as nonnull,
remove nullness checks, because GCC would optimize them away anyway.

Use #ifdef instead of #if when checking for a configuration flag.

Clang says that left shifts of negative values are undefined.
So, use ~0U instead of ~0 in a number of macros.

Some functions that were defined as UNIV_INLINE were declared as
UNIV_INTERN. Consistently use the same type of linkage.

ibuf_merge_or_delete_for_page() could pass bitmap_page=NULL to
buf_page_print(), conflicting with the __attribute__((nonnull)).

Replaced InnoDB atomic operations with server atomic operations.

Moved INNODB_RW_LOCKS_USE_ATOMICS - it is always defined (code won't compile

NOTE: InnoDB uses thread identifiers as a target for atomic operations.
Thread identifiers should be considered opaque: any attempt to use a
thread ID other than in pthreads calls is nonportable and can lead to
unspecified results.

2bedc3978b MDEV-9931: InnoDB reads first page of every .ibd file at startup
Analysis: By design InnoDB was reading first page of every .ibd file

because tablespace could have been encrypted always, not
encrypted newer or encrypted based on configuration and this
information can be find realible only from first page of .ibd file.

25f8738112 MDEV-9040: 10.1.8 fails after upgrade from 10.0.21
Analysis: Lengths which are not UNIV_SQL_NULL, but bigger than the following
number indicate that a field contains a reference to an externally
stored part of the field in the tablespace. The length field then
contains the sum of the following flag and the locally stored len.

This was incorrectly set to

define UNIV_EXTERN_STORAGE_FIELD (UNIV_SQL_NULL - UNIV_PAGE_SIZE_MAX)

When it should be

define UNIV_EXTERN_STORAGE_FIELD (UNIV_SQL_NULL - UNIV_PAGE_SIZE_DEF)

Additionally, we need to disable support for > 16K page size for
row compressed tables because a compressed page directory entry
reserves 14 bits for the start offset and 2 bits for flags.
This limits the uncompressed page size to 16k. To support
larger pages page directory entry needs to be larger.

Analysis: Problem was that in fil_read_first_page we do find that
    table has encryption information and that encryption service
    or used key_id is not available. But, then we just printed
    fatal error message that causes above assertion.

    Fix: When we open single table tablespace if it has encryption
    information (crypt_data) store this crypt data to the table
    structure. When we open a table and we find out that tablespace
    is not available, check has table a encryption information
    and from there is encryption service or used key_id is not available.
    If it is, add additional warning for SQL-layer.

bfb6ea0232 MDEV-8589: Non-default ENCRYPTION_KEY_ID is ignored upon reading a table
Analysis: Problem was that when a new tablespace is created a default
encryption info is also created and stored to the tablespace. Later a
new encryption information was created with correct key_id but that
does not affect on IV.

Fix: Push encryption mode and key_id to lower levels and create
correct encryption info when a new tablespace is created.

This fix does not contain test case because, currently incorrect
encryption key causes page corruption and a lot of error messages
to error log causing mtr to fail.

e59914034a BUG#21065746 RQG_PARTN_PRUNING_VALGRIND FAILED IN REM0REC.CC
Problem :
---------
This is a regression of Bug#19138298. In purge_node_t::validate_pcur
we are trying to get offsets for all columns of clustered index from
stored record in persistent cursor. This would fail when stored record
is not having all fields of the index. The stored record stores only
fields that are needed to uniquely identify the entry.

Solution :
----------
1. Use pcur.old_n_fields to get fields that are stored
2. Add comment to note dependency between stored fields in purge node
ref and stored cursor.
3. Return if the cursor record is not already stored as it is not safe
to access cursor record directly without latch.

4b8304a9a4 BUG#21126772 VALGRIND FAILURE IN ENGINES/FUNCS SUITE
Problem :
---------
This is a regression of bug-19138298. During purge, if
btr_pcur_restore_position fails, we set found_clust to FALSE
so that it can find a possible clustered index record in future
calls for the same undo entry. This, however, overwrites the
old_rec_buf while initializing pcur again in next call.

The leak is reproducible in local environment and with the
test provided along with bug-19138298.

Solution :
----------
If btr_pcur_restore_position() fails close the cursor.

e7b6e814be Bug #19138298 RECORD IN INDEX WAS NOT FOUND ON ROLLBACK, TRYING TO INSERT
Scenario:

1. The purge thread takes an undo log record and parses it and forms
   the record to be purged. We have the primary and secondary keys
   to locate the actual records.
2. Using the secondary index key, we search in the secondary index.
   One record is found.
3. Then it is checked if this record can be purged. The answer is we
   can purge this record. To determine this we look up the clustered
   index record. Either there is no corresponding clustered index
   record, or the matching clustered index record is delete marked.
4. Then we check whether the secondary index record is delete marked.
   We find that it is not delete marked. We report warning in optimized
   build and assert in debug build.

Problem:

In step 3, we report that the record is purgeable even though it is
not delete marked. This is because of inconsistency between the
following members of purge_node_t structure - found_clust, ref and pcur.

Solution:

In the row_purge_reposition_pcur(), if the persistent cursor restore
fails, then reset the purge_node_t->found_clust member. This will
keep the members of purge_node_t structure in a consistent state.

b53bcd438f MDEV-7367: Updating a virtual column corrupts table which crashes server
Analysis: MySQL table definition contains also virtual columns. Similarly,
index fielnr references MySQL table fields. However, InnoDB table definition
does not contain virtual columns. Therefore, when matching MySQL key fieldnr
we need to use actual column name to find out referenced InnoDB dictionary
column name.

Fix: Add new function to match MySQL index key columns to InnoDB dictionary.
