d7758debae MDEV-33218: Assertion `active_arena->is_stmt_prepare_or_first_stmt_execute() || active_arena->state == Query_arena::STMT_SP_QUERY_ARGUMENTS' failed in st_select_lex::fix_prepare_information
In case there is a view that queried from a stored routine or
a prepared statement and this temporary table is dropped between
executions of SP/PS, then it leads to hitting an assertion
at the SELECT_LEX::fix_prepare_information. The fired assertion
 was added by the commit 85f2e4f8e8
(MDEV-32466: Potential memory leak on executing of create view statement).
Firing of this assertion means memory leaking on execution of SP/PS.
Moreover, if the added assert be commented out, different result sets
can be produced by the statement SELECT * FROM the hidden table.

Both hitting the assertion and different result sets have the same root
cause. This cause is usage of temporary table's metadata after the table
itself has been dropped. To fix the issue, reload the cache of stored
routines. To do it cache of stored routines is reset at the end of
execution of the function dispatch_command(). Next time any stored routine
be called it will be loaded from the table mysql.proc. This happens inside
the method Sp_handler::sp_cache_routine where loading of a stored routine
is performed in case it missed in cache. Loading is performed unconditionally
while previously it was controlled by the parameter lookup_only. By that
reason the signature of the method Sroutine_hash_entry::sp_cache_routine
was changed by removing unused parameter lookup_only.

Clearing of sp caches affects the test main.lock_sync since it forces
opening and locking the table mysql.proc but the test assumes that each
statement locks its tables once during its execution. To keep this invariant
the debug sync points with names "before_lock_tables_takes_lock" and
"after_lock_tables_takes_lock" are not activated on handling the table

aed9c656a9 MDEV-32101 CREATE PACKAGE [BODY] for sql_mode=DEFAULT
This patch adds PACKAGE support with SQL/PSM dialect for sql_mode=DEFAULT:

- CREATE PACKAGE
- DROP PACKAGE
- CREATE PACKAGE BODY
- DROP PACKAGE BODY
- Package function and procedure invocation from outside of the package:
    -- using two step identifiers
    SELECT pkg.f1();
    CALL pkg.p1()

    -- using three step identifiers
    SELECT db.pkg.f1();
    CALL db.pkg.p1();

This is a non-standard MariaDB extension.

However, later this code can be used to implement
the SQL Standard and DB2 dialects of CREATE MODULE.

d75ef02ac2 MDEV-32220 sql_yacc.yy: unify the drop_routine rule
- Removing two copies of the drop_routine.
  Adding a shared and much simplified version.

- Removing LEX metods:
      bool stmt_drop_function(const DDL_options_st &options,
                              const Lex_ident_sys_st &db,
                              const Lex_ident_sys_st &name);

      bool stmt_drop_function(const DDL_options_st &options,
                              const Lex_ident_sys_st &name);

      bool stmt_drop_procedure(const DDL_options_st &options,
                               sp_name *name);

  The code inside the methods was very similar.
  Adding one method instead:

      bool stmt_drop_routine(const Sp_handler *sph,
                          const DDL_options_st &options,
                          const Lex_ident_sys_st &db,
                          const Lex_ident_sys_st &name);

- Adding a new virtual method Sp_handler:sqlcom_drop().
  It helped to unify the code inside the new stmt_drop_routine().

9cb75f333f MDEV-32026 lowercase_table2.test failures in 11.3
Also fixes MDEV-32025 Crashes in MDL_key::mdl_key_init with lower-case-table-names=2

Change overview:
- In changes made in MDEV-31948, MDEV-31982 the code path
  which originaly worked only in case of lower-case-table-names==1
  also started to work in case of lower-case-table-names==2 in a mistake.

  Restoring the original check_db_name() compatible behavior
  (but without re-using check_db_name() itself).
- MDEV-31978 erroneously added a wrong DBUG_ASSERT. Removing.

Details:

- In mysql_change_db() the database name should be lower-cased only
  in case of lower_case_table_names==1. It should not be lower-cased
  for lower_case_table_names==2. The problem was caused by MDEV-31948.
  The new code version restored the pre-MDEV-31948 behavior, which
  used check_db_name() behavior.

- Passing lower_case_table_names==1 instead of just lower_case_table_names
  to the "casedn" parameter to DBNameBuffer constructor in sql_parse.cc
  The database name should not be lower-cased for lower_case_table_names==2.
  This restores pre-MDEV-31982 behavioir which used check_db_name() here.

- Adding a new data type Lex_ident_db_normalized, it stores database
  names which are both checked and normalized to lower case
  in case lower_case_table_names==1 and lower_case_table_names==2.

- Changing the data type for the "db" parameter to Lex_ident_db_normalized in
  lock_schema_name(), lock_db_routines(), find_db_tables_and_rm_known_files().

  This is to avoid incorrectly passing a non-normalized name in the future.

- Restoring the database name normalization in mysql_create_db_internal()
  and mysql_rm_db_internal() before calling lock_schema_name().
  The problem was caused MDEV-31982.

- Adding database name normalization in mysql_alter_db_internal()
  and mysql_upgrade_db(). This fixes MDEV-32026.

- Removing a wrong assert in Create_sp_func::create_with_db() was incorrect:

    DBUG_ASSERT(Lex_ident_fs(*db).ok_for_lower_case_names());

  The database name comes to here checked, but not normalized
  to lower case with lower-case-table-names=2.
  The assert was erroneously added by MDEV-31978.

- Recording lowercase_tables2.results and lowercase_tables4.results
  according to
    MDEV-29446 Change SHOW CREATE TABLE to display default collations
  These tests are skipped on buildbot on all platforms, so this change
  was forgotten in the patch for MDEV-29446.

ebbf5662ef MDEV-31978 Turn ok_for_lower_case_names() to a method in Lex_ident_fs
- Changing the global function ok_for_lower_case_names()
  into a method in class Lex_ident_fs.

- Changing a few functions/methods to get the database name
  as a "const LEX_CSTRING" instead of a "const char *".
  All these functions/methods use ok_for_lower_case_names()
  inside. This change helps to avoid new strlen() calls, and also
  removes a few old strlen() calls.

5a8b9a16d1 MDEV-5816: Stored programs: validation of stored program statements
For those SP instructions that need to get access to ia LEX object
on execution, added storing of their original sql expressions inside
classes derived from the class sp_lex_instr.

A stored sql expression is returned by the abstract method
  sp_lex_instr::get_expr_query
redefined in derived classes.

Since an expression constituting a SP instruction can be invalid
SQL statement in general case (not parseable statement), the virtual
method sp_lex_instr::get_query() is introduced to return a valid string
for a statement that corresponds to the given instruction.

Additionally, introduced the rule remember_start_opt in the grammar.
The new rule intended to get correct position of a current
token taking into attention the fact whether lookahead was done or not.

08c852026d Apply clang-tidy to remove empty constructors / destructors
This patch is the result of running
run-clang-tidy -fix -header-filter=.* -checks='-*,modernize-use-equals-default' .

Code style changes have been done on top. The result of this change
leads to the following improvements:

1. Binary size reduction.
* For a -DBUILD_CONFIG=mysql_release build, the binary size is reduced by
  ~400kb.
* A raw -DCMAKE_BUILD_TYPE=Release reduces the binary size by ~1.4kb.

2. Compiler can better understand the intent of the code, thus it leads
   to more optimization possibilities. Additionally it enabled detecting
   unused variables that had an empty default constructor but not marked
   so explicitly.

   Particular change required following this patch in sql/opt_range.cc

   result_keys, an unused template class Bitmap now correctly issues
   unused variable warnings.

   Setting Bitmap template class constructor to default allows the compiler
   to identify that there are no side-effects when instantiating the class.
   Previously the compiler could not issue the warning as it assumed Bitmap
   class (being a template) would not be performing a NO-OP for its default
   constructor. This prevented the "unused variable warning".

4102f1589c Aria will now register it's transactions
MDEV-22531 Remove maria::implicit_commit()
MDEV-22607 Assertion `ha_info->ht() != binlog_hton' failed in
           MYSQL_BIN_LOG::unlog_xa_prepare

From the handler point of view, Aria now looks like a transactional
engine. One effect of this is that we don't need to call
maria::implicit_commit() anymore.

This change also forces the server to call trans_commit_stmt() after doing
any read or writes to system tables. This work will also make it easier
to later allow users to have system tables in other engines than Aria.

To handle the case that Aria doesn't support rollback, a new
handlerton flag, HTON_NO_ROLLBACK, was added to engines that has
transactions without rollback (for the moment only binlog and Aria).

Other things
- Moved freeing of MARIA_SHARE to a separate function as the MARIA_SHARE
  can be still part of a transaction even if the table has closed.
- Changed Aria checkpoint to use the new MARIA_SHARE free function. This
  fixes a possible memory leak when using S3 tables
- Changed testing of binlog_hton to instead test for HTON_NO_ROLLBACK
- Removed checking of has_transaction_manager() in handler.cc as we can
  assume that as the transaction was started by the engine, it does
  support transactions.
- Added new class 'start_new_trans' that can be used to start indepdendent
  sub transactions, for example while reading mysql.proc, using help or
  status tables etc.
- open_system_tables...() and open_proc_table_for_Read() doesn't anymore
  take a Open_tables_backup list. This is now handled by 'start_new_trans'.
- Split thd::has_transactions() to thd::has_transactions() and
  thd::has_transactions_and_rollback()
- Added handlerton code to free cached transactions objects.
  Needed by InnoDB.

60c446584c MDEV-7773: Aggregate stored functions
This commit implements aggregate stored functions. The basic idea behind
the feature is:

* Implement a special instruction FETCH GROUP NEXT ROW that will pause
the execution of the stored function. When the instruction is reached,
execution of the initial query resumes "as if" the function returned.
This gives the server the opportunity to advance to the next row in the
result set.

* Stored aggregates behave like regular aggregate functions. The
implementation of thus resides in the class Item_sum_sp. Because it is
an aggregate function, for each new row in the group, the
Item_sum_sp::add() method will be called. This is when execution resumes
and the function does another iteration to "add" one extra element to
the final result.

* When the end of group is reached, val_xxx() method will be called for
the item. This case is handled by another execute step for the stored
function, only with a special flag to force a call to the return
handler. See Item_sum_sp::execute() for details.

To allow this pause and resume semantic, we must preserve the function
context across executions. This is stored in Item_sp::sp_query_arena only for
aggregate stored functions, but has no impact for regular functions.

We also enforce aggregate functions to include the "FETCH GROUP NEXT ROW"
instruction.

5a759d31f7 Changing field::field_name and Item::name to LEX_CSTRING
Benefits of this patch:
- Removed a lot of calls to strlen(), especially for field_string
- Strings generated by parser are now const strings, less chance of
  accidently changing a string
- Removed a lot of calls with LEX_STRING as parameter (changed to pointer)
- More uniform code
- Item::name_length was not kept up to date. Now fixed
- Several bugs found and fixed (Access to null pointers,
  access of freed memory, wrong arguments to printf like functions)
- Removed a lot of casts from (const char*) to (char*)

Changes:
- This caused some ABI changes
  - lex_string_set now uses LEX_CSTRING
  - Some fucntions are now taking const char* instead of char*
- Create_field::change and after changed to LEX_CSTRING
- handler::connect_string, comment and engine_name() changed to LEX_CSTRING
- Checked printf() related calls to find bugs. Found and fixed several
  errors in old code.
- A lot of changes from LEX_STRING to LEX_CSTRING, especially related to
  parsing and events.
- Some changes from LEX_STRING and LEX_STRING & to LEX_CSTRING*
- Some changes for char* to const char*
- Added printf argument checking for my_snprintf()
- Introduced null_clex_str, star_clex_string, temp_lex_str to simplify
  code
- Added item_empty_name and item_used_name to be able to distingush between
  items that was given an empty name and items that was not given a name
  This is used in sql_yacc.yy to know when to give an item a name.
- select table_name."*' is not anymore same as table_name.*
- removed not used function Item::rename()
- Added comparision of item->name_length before some calls to
  my_strcasecmp() to speed up comparison
- Moved Item_sp_variable::make_field() from item.h to item.cc
- Some minimal code changes to avoid copying to const char *
- Fixed wrong error message in wsrep_mysql_parse()
- Fixed wrong code in find_field_in_natural_join() where real_item() was
  set when it shouldn't
- ER_ERROR_ON_RENAME was used with extra arguments.
- Removed some (wrong) ER_OUTOFMEMORY, as alloc_root will already
  give the error.

TODO:
- Check possible unsafe casts in plugin/auth_examples/qa_auth_interface.c

494a94158a Fix for bug#11759114 - '51401: GRANT TREATS NONEXISTENT
FUNCTIONS/PRIVILEGES DIFFERENTLY'.

The problem was that attempt to grant EXECUTE or ALTER
ROUTINE privilege on stored procedure which didn't exist
succeed instead of returning an appropriate error like
it happens in similar situation for stored functions or
tables.

The code which handles granting of privileges on individual
routine calls sp_exist_routines() function to check if routine
exists and assumes that the 3rd parameter of the latter
specifies whether it should check for existence of stored
procedure or function. In practice, this parameter had
completely different meaning and, as result, this check was
not done properly for stored procedures.

This fix addresses this problem by bringing sp_exist_routines()
signature and code in line with expectation of its caller.
