Problem: ENUM columns are sorted and distributed according to their
numeric value, but Field::hash() incorrectly passed string character set
(utf32) in combination with numeric value to the hash function,
which made assertion fail.
Fix: pass "binary" character set in combination with numeric value
to the hash function.

locks on the table
Fixing the partitioning specifics after TRUNCATE TABLE in
bug-42643 was fixed.
Reorganize of code to decrease the size of the giant switch

Updated patch according to davi's review comments.
corruption on ADD PARTITION and LOCK TABLE
Bug#53770: Server crash at handler.cc:2076 on
LOAD DATA after timed out COALESCE PARTITION
5.5 fix for:
Bug#51042: REORGANIZE PARTITION can leave table in an
inconsistent state in case of crash
Needs to be back-ported to 5.1
5.5 fix for:
Bug#50418: DROP PARTITION does not interact with
transactions
Main problem was non-persistent operations done
before meta-data lock was taken (53770+53676).
And 53676 needed to keep the table/partitions opened and locked
while copying the data to the new partitions.
Also added thorough tests to spot some additional bugs
in the ddl_log code, which could result in bad state
between the .frm and partitions.
Collapsed patch, includes all fixes required from the reviewers.
The default storage engine is changed from MyISAM to
InnoDB, in all builds except for the embedded server.
In addition, the following system variables are
changed:
* innodb_file_per_table is enabled
* innodb_strict_mode is enabled
* innodb_file_format_name_update is changed
to 'Barracuda'
The test suite is changed so that tests that do not
explicitly include the have_innodb.inc are run with
--default-storage-engine=MyISAM. This is to ease the
transition, so that most regression tests are run
with the same engine as before.
Some tests are disabled for the embedded server
regression test, as the output of certain statements
will be different that for the regular server
(i.e SELECT @@default_storage_engine). This is to
ease transition.
Some of the test cases reference to binlog position and
these position numbers are written into result explicitly.
It is difficult to maintain if log event format changes.
There are a couple of cases explicit position number appears,
we handle them in different ways
A. 'CHANGE MASTER ...' with MASTER_LOG_POS or/and RELAY_LOG_POS options
Use --replace_result to mask them.
B. 'SHOW BINLOG EVENT ...'
Replaced by show_binlog_events.inc or wait_for_binlog_event.inc.
show_binlog_events.inc file's function is enhanced by given
$binlog_file and $binlog_limit.
C. 'SHOW SLAVE STATUS', 'show_slave_status.inc' and 'show_slave_status2.inc'
For the test cases just care a few items in the result of 'SHOW SLAVE STATUS',
only the items related to each test case are showed.
'show_slave_status.inc' is rebuild, only the given items in $status_items
will be showed.
'check_slave_is_running.inc' and 'check_slave_no_error.inc'
and 'check_slave_param.inc' are auxiliary files helping
to show running status and error information easily.

concurrent I_S query
There were two problem:
1) MYSQL_LOCK_IGNORE_FLUSH also ignored name locks
2) there was a race between abort_and_upgrade_locks and
alter_close_tables
(i.e. remove_table_from_cache and
close_data_files_and_morph_locks)
Which allowed the table to be opened with MYSQL_LOCK_IGNORE_FLUSH flag
resulting in renaming a partition that was already in use,
which could cause the table to be unusable.
Solution was to not allow IGNORE_FLUSH to skip waiting for
a named locked table.
And to not release the LOCK_open mutex between the
calls to remove_table_from_cache and
close_data_files_and_morph_locks by merging the functions
abort_and_upgrade_locks and alter_close_tables.
auto_increment on duplicate entry
The bug was that when INSERT_ID was used and the storage
engine was told to release any reserved but not used
auto_increment values, it set the highest auto_increment
value to INSERT_ID.
The fix was to check if the auto_increment value was forced
by user (INSERT_ID) or by slave-thread, i.e. not auto-
generated. So that it is only allowed to release generated
values.
The test case for this bug relies on getting a ER_LOCK_WAIT_TIMEOUT
error. However with the introduction of MDL, the test would hang
forever since the metadata locks would not timeout.
MDL timeouts are now introduced in the scope of Bug#45225. This
patch changes the testcase for Bug#34604 to set the new server
variable "lock_wait_timeout" to one second which makes the test
generate the necessary timeout again.
Problem was that in mysql-trunk the ER() macro is now dependent on current_thd
and the innodb monitor thread has no binding to that thd object. This cause
the crash because of bad derefencing.
Solution was to add a new macro which take the thd as an argument (which the innodb
thread uses for the call).
(Updated according to reviewers comments, i.e. added ER_THD_OR_DEFAULT and
moved test to suite parts.)
Fix Bug#50555 "handler commands crash server in my_hash_first()"
as a post-merge fix (the new handler tests are not passing
otherwise).
- in hash.c, don't call calc_hash if ! my_hash_inited().
- add tests and results for the test case for Bug#50555
