f9315b3321 CC 3.1 update
Test fixes:

Since fix for CONC-603 (wrong error handling in TLS read/write) in case
of a read/write error client doesn't return always error 2013 (server
has gone away), so in addition we need to check for error 2026
(TLS/SSL error) and 5014 (write error).

0ee1082bd2 MDEV-28495 InnoDB corruption due to lack of file locking
Starting with commit da094188f6 (MDEV-24393),
MariaDB will no longer acquire advisory file locks on InnoDB data
files by default, because it would create a large number of
entries in Linux /proc/locks.

The motivation for acquiring the file locks is to prevent accidental
concurrent startup of multiple server processes on the same data files.
Such mistake still turns out to be relatively common, based on
corruption bug reports from the community.

To prevent corruption due to concurrent startup attempts, the
Aria storage engine would unconditionally acquire an advisory lock
on one of its log files.

Solution: InnoDB will always lock its system tablespace files.
(Ever since commit 685d958e38
the InnoDB log file will not necessarily be open while the
server is running, because it can be accessed via memory-mapped I/O.)

If more protection is desired, then the option --external-locking
can be used.

The mandatory advisory lock also fixes intermittent failures of
some crash recovery tests. It turns out that when the mtr test harness
kills and restarts the server, it will not actually ensure that the
old process has terminated before starting the new one.

02e85aeafd MDEV-28487: sequences not respect value of binlog_row_image with select nextval(seq_gen)
Problem:
========
When using sequences, the function
sequence_definition::write(TABLE *table, bool all_fields)
is used to save DML/DDL updates to sequence tables (e.g. nextval,
setval, and alter). Prior to this patch, the value all_fields was
always false when invoked via nextval and setval, which forced the
bitmap to only include changed columns.

Solution:
========
Change all_fields when invoked via nextval and setval to be reliant
on binlog_row_image, such that it is false when binlog_row_image is
MINIMAL, and true otherwise.

9286c9e647 MDEV-28254 Wrong position for row_start, row_end after adding column to implicit versioned table
Implicit system-versioned table does not contain system fields in SHOW
CREATE. Therefore after mysqldump recovery such table has system
fields in the last place in frm image. The original table meanwhile
does not guarantee these system fields on last place because adding
new fields via ALTER TABLE places them last. Thus the order of fields
may be different between master and slave, so row-based replication
may fail.

To fix this on ALTER TABLE we now place system-invisible fields always
last in frm image. If the table was created via old revision and has
an incorrect order of fields it can be fixed via any copy operation of
ALTER TABLE, f.ex.:

  ALTER TABLE t1 FORCE;

To check the order of fields in frm file one can use hexdump:

  hexdump -C t1.frm

Note, the replication fails only when all 3 conditions are met:

  1. row-based or mixed mode replication;
  2. table has new fields added via ALTER TABLE;
  3. table was rebuilt on some, but not all nodes via mysqldump image.

Otherwise it will operate properly even with incorrect order of
fields.

e9735a8185 MDEV-25975 innodb_disallow_writes causes shutdown to hang
We will remove the parameter innodb_disallow_writes because it is badly
designed and implemented. The parameter was never allowed at startup.
It was only internally used by Galera snapshot transfer.
If a user executed
SET GLOBAL innodb_disallow_writes=ON;
the server could hang even on subsequent read operations.

During Galera snapshot transfer, we will block writes
to implement an rsync friendly snapshot, as follows:

sst_flush_tables() will acquire a global lock by executing
FLUSH TABLES WITH READ LOCK, which will block any writes
at the high level.

sst_disable_innodb_writes(), invoked via ha_disable_internal_writes(true),
will suspend or disable InnoDB background tasks or threads that could
initiate writes. As part of this, log_make_checkpoint() will be invoked
to ensure that anything in the InnoDB buf_pool.flush_list will be written
to the data files. This has the nice side effect that the Galera joiner
will avoid crash recovery.

The changes to sql/wsrep.cc and to the tests are based on a prototype
that was developed by Jan Lindström.

b101f19d29 MDEV-23974 fixup: rpl.rpl_gtid_stop_start fails
The call mtr.add_suppression() that was added
in commit 75b7cd680b
for MemorySanitizer and Valgrind runs is causing
a result difference for the test rpl.rpl_gtid_stop_start.
Let us disable the binlog for executing that statement.

Also, the test perfschema.statement_program_lost_inst
would fail due to the changes to have_innodb.inc in this commit.
To compensate for that, we will make more --suite=perfschema
tests run without InnoDB, and explicitly enable InnoDB in
those tests that depend on a transactional storage engine.

75b7cd680b MDEV-23974 Tests fail due to [Warning] InnoDB: Trying to delete tablespace
A few regression tests invoke heavy flushing of the buffer pool
and may trigger warnings that tablespaces could not be deleted
because of pending writes. Those warnings are to be expected
during the execution of such tests.

The warnings are also frequently seen with Valgrind or MemorySanitizer.
For those, the global suppression in have_innodb.inc does the trick.

a1f630ccfe Fixed result for embedded server
- Revert wrongly record embedded result files. These were either
  recorded with normal server (not embedded) or an embedded server
  with not default compile option. This can be seen that the committed
  result file had replication variables which should never happen.

- Reverted back change of include/is_embedded.inc. One cannot check for
  $MYSQL_EMBEDDED as this only tells if there exists an embedded
  server, not if the current server we are testing is the embedded
  server. This could easily be verified by doing
  'mtr sys_vars.sysvars_server_embedded'. This would fail with a wrong
  result instead of being marked as skipped as --embedded was not
  used.

42fea34d4a MDEV-27262 Unexpected index intersection with full index scan for an index
If when extracting a range condition for an index from the WHERE condition
Range Optimizer sees that the range condition covers the whole index then
such condition should be discarded because it cannot be used in any range
scan. In some cases Range Optimizer really does it, but there remained some
conditions for which it was not done. As a result the optimizer could
produce index merge plans with the full index scan for one of the indexes
participating in the index merge.
This could be observed in one of the test cases from index_merge1.inc
where a plan with index_merge_sort_union was produced and in the test case
reported for this bug where a plan with index_merge_sort_intersect was
produced. In both cases one of two index scans participating in index merge
ran over the whole index.
The patch slightly changes the original above mentioned test case from
index_merge1.inc to be able to produce an intended plan employing
index_merge_sort_union. The original query was left to show that index
merge is not used for it anymore.
It should be noted that for the plan with index_merge_sort_intersect could
be chosen for execution only due to a defect in the InnoDB code that
returns wrong estimates for the cardinality of big ranges.

This bug led to serious problems in 10.4+ where the optimization using
Rowid filters is employed (see mdev-26446).

Fixes:
- sp-no-valgrind failed if binary was built for valgrind as in this case
  mem_root is allocated in very small hunks which the test cannot handle.
  Fixed by testing of valgrind build
- truncate_notembedded failed in reap because of more memory used.
  Fixed by allowing reap to fail too

410e3c1a9a MDEV-17515: GTID Replication in optimistic mode deadlock
Problem:
=======
In slave_parallel_mode=optimistic configuration, when admin commands and
DML operation on the same table are scheduled simultaneously for execution,
it results in lock conflict and slave server either hangs due to
deadlock or goes down with an assert.

Analysis:
========
Admin commands OPTIMIZE, REPAIR and ANALYZE are written to binary log as
ordinary transactions. When 'slave_parallel_mode' is 'optimistic' DMLs are
allowed to run in parallel. But these locks are not detected by parallel
replication deadlock detection-and-handling mechanism. At times they result
in deadlock or assertion.

Fix:
===
Flag admin commands as DDL in Gtid_log_event at the time of writing to
binary log. Add a new bit EXECUTED_TABLE_ADMIN_CMD to
'm_unsafe_rollback_flags'. During 'mysql_admin_table' command execution it
accepts a list of tables to be processed and executes them in a loop. Upon
successful execution enable 'EXECUTED_TABLE_ADMIN_CMD' bit in
thd->transaction.stmt_unsafe_rollback_flags. Gtid_log_event constructor
will notice this flag and mark the current transaction with 'FL_DDL' flag.
Gtid_log_events marked as FL_DDL will not be scheduled parallel execution,
on the slave. They will execute in isolation to prevent deadlocks.

Note: Removed the call to 'trans_commit_implicit' from 'mysql_admin_table'
function as 'mysql_execute_command' will take care of invoking
'trans_commit_implicit'.
