2f8bd757cd Bug #19471516 SERVER CRASHES WHEN EXECUTING ALTER TABLE ADD FOREIGN KEY
Problem:

We maintain two rb trees in each dict_table_t. The foreign_rbt must be in
sync with foreign_list. The referenced_rbt must be in sync with
referenced_list. There is one function which checks this consistency and it
failed, resulting in an assert failure.

The root cause of the problem was identified that the search order was
lost in the referenced_rbt. This is because while renaming the table,
we didn't not refresh this referenced_rbt.

Solution:

When a foreign key is renamed, we must delete and re-insert into both
foreign_rbt and referenced_rbt.

During redo log processing, the data dictionary is not available. We should
check it in dict_find_table_by_space() to prevent SEGV error.

b5299f3559 Bug #18806829 OPENING INNODB TABLES WITH MANY FOREIGN KEY REFERENCES IS
SLOW/CRASHES SEMAPHORE

Problem:

There are 2 lakh tables - fk_000001, fk_000002 ... fk_200000. All of them
are related to the same parent_table through a foreign key constraint.
When the parent_table is loaded into the dictionary cache, all the child table
will also be loaded. This is taking lot of time. Since this operation happens
when the dictionary latch is taken, the scenario leads to "long semaphore wait"
situation and the server gets killed.

Analysis:

A simple performance analysis showed that the slowness is because of the
dict_foreign_find() function. It does a linear search on two linked list
table->foreign_list and table->referenced_list, looking for a particular
foreign key object based on foreign->id as the key. This is called two
times for each foreign key object.

Solution:

Introduce a rb tree in table->foreign_rbt and table->referenced_rbt, which
are some sort of index on table->foreign_list and table->referenced_list
respectively, using foreign->id as the key. These rbt structures will be
solely used by dict_foreign_find().

436fd04b02 Merge fix for BUG#17446090 from mysql-5.1 to mysql-5.5
The testcase for this bug fails randomly due to two reasons.
1. Due to ibuf merge happening background
2. Due to dict stats update which brings the evicted page back into
   buffer pool.

Fix ibuf_contract_ext() to not do any merges with ibuf_debug enabled and
also changed dict_stats_update() to return fake statistics without
bringing the secondary index pages into buffer pool.

9696ca9d87 Fix Bug#16907783 5.5 STILL CRASHES IN DICT_UPDATE_STATISTICS WITH CONCURRENT
DDL AND I_S QUERIES

Skip partially created indexes (ones whose name starts with TEMP_INDEX_PREFIX)
from stats gathering.

Because InnoDB reports HA_INPLACE_ADD_INDEX_NO_WRITE to MySQL, the latter
allows parallel execution of ha_innobase::add_index() and ha_innobase::info().

5ca36b3b46 Bug #12762377 FOREIGN KEYS NOT CONSTRUCTED WHEN APOSTROPHES ARE
ESCAPED WITH BACKSLASH

Problem:

When the CREATE TABLE statement used COMMENTS with escape sequences like
'foo\'s', InnoDB did not parse is correctly when trying to extract the
foreign key information. Because of this, the foreign keys specified
in the CREATE TABLE statement were not created.

Solution:

Make the InnoDB internal parser aware of escape sequences.

Bug #16754901 PARS_INFO_FREE NOT CALLED IN DICT_CREATE_ADD_FOREIGN_TO_DICTIONARY

Problem:

There are two situations here. The constraint name is explicitly
given by the user and the constraint name is automatically generated
by InnoDB. In the case of generated constraint name, it is formed by
adding table name as prefix. The table names are stored internally in
my_charset_filename. In the case of constraint name explicitly given
by the user, it is stored in UTF8 format itself. So, in some
situations the constraint name is in utf8 and in some situations it is
in my_charset_filename format. Hence this problem.

Solution:

Always store the foreign key constraint name in UTF-8 even when
automatically generated.

Bug #16754901 PARS_INFO_FREE NOT CALLED IN DICT_CREATE_ADD_FOREIGN_TO_DICTIONARY

Problem:

There was a memory leak in the function dict_create_add_foreign_to_dictionary().
The allocated pars_info_t object is not freed in the error code path.

Solution:

Allocate the pars_info_t object after the error checking.

Problem: The length of the internally generated foreign key name

InnoDB skips these operations at shutdown.

7532976dd9 Bug #13116225 LIVE DOWNGRADE CRASHES WITH INNODB_PAGE_SIZE=4K
This bug ensures that a live downgrade from an InnoDB 5.6 with WL5756 and
a database created with innodb-page-size=8k or 4k will make a version 5.5
installation politely refuse to start. Instead of crashing or giving some
indication about a corrupted database, it will indicate the page size
difference.

This patch takes only that part of the Wl5756 patch that is needed to
protect against opening a tablespace that is stamped with a different
page size.

It also contains the change in dict_index_find_on_id_low() just in case
a database with another page size is created by recompiling a pre-WL5756
InnoDB.

6ed10ee5dd Bug#60309 - Bug#12356829: MYSQL 5.5.9 FOR MAC OSX HAS BUG WITH FOREIGN KEY CONSTRAINTS
The innoDB global variable srv_lower_case_table_names is set to the value of lower_case_table_names declared in mysqld.h server in ha_innodb.cc. Since this variable can change at runtime, it is reset for each handler call to ::create, ::open, ::rename_table & ::delete_table.

But it is possible for tables to be implicitly opened before an explicit handler call is made when an engine is first started or restarted. I was able to reproduce that with the testcase in this patch on a version of InnoDB from 2 weeks ago. It seemed like the change buffer entries for the secondary key was getting put into pages after the restart. (But I am not sure, I did not write down the call stack while it was reproducing.) In the current code, the implicit open, which is actually a call to dict_load_foreigns(), does not occur with this testcase.

The change is to replace srv_lower_case_table_names by an interface function in innodb.cc that retrieves the server global variable when it is needed.

08f128f633 Bug#60196 / Bug#11831040
Setting lowercase_table_names to 2 on Windows causing Foreign Key problems

This problem was exposed by the fix for Bug#55222. There was a codepath in dict0load.c,
dict_load_foreigns() that made sure the table name matched case sensitive in order to
load a referenced table into the dictionary as needed. If an engine is rebooted which
accesses a table with foreign keys, and lower_case_table_names=2, then the table with
foreign keys will get an error when it is changed (insert/updated/delete).
Once the referenced tables are loaded into the dictionary cache by a select statement
on those tables, the same change would succeed because the affected code path would
not get followed.

aff195eb5a Bug#59699 - Hidden bug would cause a crash for unknown tablespace flags.
The bug would cause a crash of InnoDB if a non-standard or unknown table
flags existed in a SYS_TABLES record. This is important because the next
file version, Cheetah, will identify itself by expanding this field. So
unless this is fixed, an older engine that tries to open a table in a
tablespace with a newer file version will crash instead of report an error
and refuse to open the table, as it should do.
