- Define and pass compile time path variables as pre-processor definitions to
mimic the makefile build.
- Set new CMake version and policy requirements explicitly.
- Changed DATADIR to MYSQL_DATADIR to avoid conflicting definition in
Platform SDK header ObjIdl.h which also defines DATADIR.
unnecessarily
The problem is that libmysqlclient.so is built with THREAD
undefined, while a client compiling against the same header
files will see THREAD as defined and definitions in
my_pthread.h will be included, possibly resulting in undefined
symbols that cannot be resolved with libmysqlclient.so.
The suggested solution is to require that clients wanting to
link with libmysqlclient.so should be built with
MYSQL_CLIENT_NO_THREADS defined. This requires a documentation
change, and more details for this will be supplied if this
patch is approved.
The MYSQL_CLIENT_NO_THREADS define was renamed from
UNDEF_THREADS_HACK, to get a more suitable (less suspicious)
name for the define. (The UNDEF_THREADS_HACK is retained for
backwards compatibility, though.)
This patch is also in anticipation of WL#4958, which will
remove this problem altogether by dropping the building of
libmysqlclient.

Post-merge fix: Alter linking order so that the thread linking
flags appear last in the list. This needs to be done this way
because some linkers will not search the thread archive again
if a undefined symbol (pthread_kill in this case) appears later.
The problem was that when a embedded linked version of mysqltest
crashed there was no way to obtain a stack trace if no core file
is available. Another problem is that the embedded version of
libmysql was not behaving (crash) the same as the non-embedded with
respect to sending commands to a explicitly closed connection.
The solution is to generate a mysqltest's stack trace on crash
and to enable "reconnect" if the connection handle was explicitly
closed so the behavior matches the non-embedded one.
Taking code from before BUG#22583 and incorporating as events to be able
to read old events. Also incorporating old pack and unpack functions
into patch.
Adding an event that can be used to denote that an incident occured
on the master. The event can be used to denote a gap in the replication
stream, but can also be used to denote other incidents.
In addition, the injector interface is extended with functions to
generate an incident event. The function will also rotate the binary
log after generating an incident event to get a fresh binary log.

Bug#18235: assertion/crash when windows mysqld is ended with ctrl-c
Two threads both try a shutdown sequence which creates a race to the
de-init/free of certain resources.
This exists in similar form in the client as 17926: "mysql.exe crashes
when ctrl-c is pressed in windows."

- In function 'handle_grant_struct' when searching the memory structures for an
entry to modify, convert all entries here host.hostname is NULL to "" and compare that
with the host passed in argument "user_from".
- A user created with hostname "" is stored in "mysql.user" table as host="" but when loaded into
memory it'll be stored as host.hostname NULL. Specifiying "" as hostname means
that "any host" can connect. Thus is's correct to turn on allow_all_hosts
when such a user is found.
- Review and fix other places where host.hostname may be NULL.
