message:
Bug#36785: Wrong error message when group_concat() exceeds max length
The problem is that when ER_CUT_VALUE_GROUP_CONCAT is elevated
to a error, the message does not get updated with the number of
cut lines when group_concat() exceeds max length.
The solution is to modify the warning message to be more meaningful
by giving the number of the line that was cut and to issue the warning
for each line that is cut. This approach is inline with how other
per-row truncated data warnings are issued avoids violating the warning
internal interface.
mysql-test/suite/sys_vars/r/group_concat_max_len_func.result:
Update result to reflect the new warning message
sql/share/errmsg.txt:
Update warning message ER_CUT_VALUE_GROUP_CONCAT.

NOTE
====
mysql-5.1-rpl-merge has been made a mirror of mysql-next-mr:
- "mysql-5.1-rpl-merge$ bzr pull ../mysql-next-mr"
This is the first cset (merge/...) committed after pulling
from mysql-next-mr.
To-number conversion warnings work differenly with CHAR
and VARCHAR sp variables.
The original revision-IDs are:
staale.smedseng@sun.com-20081124095339-2qdvzkp0rn1ljs30staale.smedseng@sun.com-20081125104611-rtxic5d12e83ag2o
The patch provides ER_TRUNCATED_WRONG_VALUE warning messages
for conversion of VARCHAR to numberic values, in line with
messages provided for CHAR conversions. Conversions are
checked for success, and the message is emitted in case
failure.
The tests are amended to accept the added warning messages,
and explicit conversion of ON/OFF values is added for
statements checking system variables. In test
rpl.rpl_switch_stm_row_mixed checking for warnings is
temporarily disabled for one statement, as this generates
warning messages for strings that vary between executions.
sql/field.cc:
The pushing of the truncation warning is now done in a
separate static function, and used in various places.

output of test now depends on InnoDB or not InnoDB. As there is no way to make mysqlshow
produce a single output in those two cases (no way to make it exclude InnoDB I_S
tables), let the test depend on InnoDB, it isn't a very selective condition, and the
test is simple enough.

assertion .\filesort.cc, line 797
A query with the "ORDER BY @@some_system_variable" clause,
where @@some_system_variable is NULL, causes assertion
failure in the filesort procedures.
The reason of the failure is in the value of
Item_func_get_system_var::maybe_null: it was unconditionally
set to false even if the value of a variable was NULL.

sql/item.cc:
Bug #42778: delete order by null global variable causes
assertion .\filesort.cc, line 797
The longlong_from_string_with_check function has been modified
to skip unwanted warnings: now it uses the THD::no_errors
flag to suppress warnings.
The Item_func_get_system_var::update_null_value method
sets the no_error flag.
sql/item_func.cc:
Bug #42778: delete order by null global variable causes
assertion .\filesort.cc, line 797
1. The Item_func_get_system_var::fix_length_and_dec method
has been modified to make system variables truly nullable.
2. The Item_func_get_system_var::update_null_value method
method has been overloaded with a simple wrapper (like
Item_field::update_null_value) to suppress unwanted warnings
from Item_func_get_system_var::val_int() calls on non-numeric
variable values: the Item_func_get_system_var::update_null_value
method sets and restores THD::no_errors flag for a nested
call of the longlong_from_string_with_check function.
sql/item_func.h:
Bug #42778: delete order by null global variable causes
assertion .\filesort.cc, line 797
The Item_func_get_system_var::update_null_value method
method has been overloaded.
The problem is that creating a event could fail if the value of
the variable server_id didn't fit in the originator column of
the event system table. The cause is two-fold: it was possible
to set server_id to a value outside the documented range (from
0 to 2^32-1) and the originator column of the event table didn't
have enough room for values in this range.
The log tables (general_log and slow_log) also don't have a proper
column type to store the server_id and having a large server_id
value could prevent queries from being logged.
The solution is to ensure that all system tables that store the
server_id value have a proper column type (int unsigned) and that
the variable can't be set to a value that is not within the range.

sql/mysqld.cc:
Set min and max values for the server_id variable.
Unfortunately we can't easily change server_id variable type
from ulong to uint32 because of the sys_var classes.
Revised the test to include a test of completion_type = 1 as well as making the test more readable / worthwhile
Removed the master.opt file as it was redundant / unnecessary.

Removed as redundant. Test uses include/have_innodb.inc.

The minimum value differs depending on the OS and mysqld build, so that the test fail spradically.
The check of this value has been changed from check of concrete values to the check of a range that is near by the expected value.
which were determined by the server depending on the os. The solution is to disable warnings in general.
The check of the values only have been done for Linux and Windows. Now, the check has been changed to the check of
ranges (not more concrete values) being near by the expected (set) values.
