The MDEV-29693 conflict resolution is from Monty, as well as is
a bug fix where ANALYZE TABLE wrongly built histograms for
single-column PRIMARY KEY.
Also includes a fix for safe_malloc error reporting.

Other things:
- Copied main.log_slow from 10.4 to avoid mtr issue

Disabled test:
- spider/bugfix.mdev_27239 because we started to get
  +Error	1429 Unable to connect to foreign data source: localhost
  -Error	1158 Got an error reading communication packets
- main.delayed
  - Bug#54332 Deadlock with two connections doing LOCK TABLE+INSERT DELAYED
    This part is disabled for now as it fails randomly with different
    warnings/errors (no corruption).

cb37c99dd8 MDEV-32019 Replace my_casedn_str(local_buffer) to CharBuffer::copy_casedn()
Replacing my_casedn_str() called on local char[] buffer variables
to CharBuffer::copy_casedn() calls.

This is a sub-task for MDEV-31531 Remove my_casedn_str()

Details:
- Adding a helper template class IdentBuffer (a CharBuffer descendant),
  which assumes utf8 data. Like CharBuffer, it's initialized to an empty
  string in the constructor, but can be populated with lower-cased data
  later.

- Adding a helper template class IdentBufferCasedn, which initializes
  to lower case right in the constructor.

- Removing char[] buffers, replacing them to IdentBuffer and IdentBufferCasedn.

- Changing the data type of "db" and "table" parameters from
  "const char*" to LEX_CSTRING in the following functions:

    find_field_in_table_ref()
    insert_fields()
    set_thd_db()
    mysql_grant()

  to reuse IdentBuffer easeir.

ebbf5662ef MDEV-31978 Turn ok_for_lower_case_names() to a method in Lex_ident_fs
- Changing the global function ok_for_lower_case_names()
  into a method in class Lex_ident_fs.

- Changing a few functions/methods to get the database name
  as a "const LEX_CSTRING" instead of a "const char *".
  All these functions/methods use ok_for_lower_case_names()
  inside. This change helps to avoid new strlen() calls, and also
  removes a few old strlen() calls.

The function normalize_db_name() fully repeated the functionality
of the class DBNameBuffer. This patch removes normalize_db_name()
and replaces it to a DBNameBuffer based code.

9b84df878a Don't give a warning about Event_scheduler for --bootstrap
The reason is that --bootstrap is used to initialize the server and
a lot of processes are not started in this case. Event scheduler is
not an exception.

This fix also removes an unexpected warning about event scheduler when
running mariadb_install_db.

3ef111610b [MDEV-29827] Clear error when --event-scheduler=ON is combined with --skip-grant-tables
When the server is started with `--event-scheduler=ON` and with
`--skip-grant-tables` (or built as embedded server which has no grant
tables at all), the event scheduler *appears* to be enabled (`SELECT
@@global.event_scheduler` returns `'ON'`), but attempting to
manipulate it in any way returns a misleading error message:

  "Cannot proceed, because event scheduler is disabled"

Possible solutions:

1. Fast-fail: fail immediately on startup if `EVENT_SCHEDULER` is set to
   any value other than `DISABLED` when starting up without grant
   tables, then prevent `SET GLOBAL event_scheduler` while running.

   Problem: there are existing setup scripts and code which start with
   this combination and assume it will not fail.

2. Warn and change value: if `EVENT_SCHEDULER` is set to any value
   other than `DISABLED` when starting, print a warning and change it
   immediately to `DISABLED`.

   Advantage: The value of the `EVENT_SCHEDULER` system variable after
   startup will be consistent with its functional unavailability.

3. Display a clear error: if `EVENT_SCHEDULER` is enabled, but grant
   tables are not enabled, then ensure error messages clearly explain
   the fact that the combination is not supported.

   Advantage: The error message encountered by the end user when
   attempting to manipulate the event scheduler (such as `CREATE
   EVENT`) is clear and explicit.

This commit implements the combination of solutions (2) and (3): it
will set `EVENT_SCHEDULER=DISABLED` on startup (reflecting the
functional reality) and it will print a startup warning, *and* it will
print a *distinct* error message each time that an end user attempts to
manipulate the event scheduler, so that the end user will clearly understand
the problem even if the startup messages are not visible at that point.

It also adds an MTR test `main.events_skip_grant_tables` to verify the
expected behavior, and the unmodified `main.events_restart` test
continues to demonstrate no change in the error message when the event
scheduler is non-functional for *different* reasons.

2917bd0d2c Reduce compilation dependencies on wsrep_mysqld.h
Making changes to wsrep_mysqld.h causes large parts of server code to
be recompiled. The reason is that wsrep_mysqld.h is included by
sql_class.h, even tough very little of wsrep_mysqld.h is needed in
sql_class.h. This commit introduces a new header file, wsrep_on.h,
which is meant to be included from sql_class.h, and contains only
macros and variable declarations used to determine whether wsrep is
enabled.
Also, header wsrep.h should only contain definitions that are also
used outside of sql/. Therefore, move WSREP_TO_ISOLATION* and
WSREP_SYNC_WAIT macros to wsrep_mysqld.h.

133446828c MDEV-27009 Add UCA-14.0.0 collations
- Added one neutral and 22 tailored (language specific) collations based on
  Unicode Collation Algorithm version 14.0.0.

  Collations were added for Unicode character sets
  utf8mb3, utf8mb4, ucs2, utf16, utf32.

  Every tailoring was added with four accent and case
  sensitivity flag combinations, e.g:

  * utf8mb4_uca1400_swedish_as_cs
  * utf8mb4_uca1400_swedish_as_ci
  * utf8mb4_uca1400_swedish_ai_cs
  * utf8mb4_uca1400_swedish_ai_ci

  and their _nopad_ variants:

  * utf8mb4_uca1400_swedish_nopad_as_cs
  * utf8mb4_uca1400_swedish_nopad_as_ci
  * utf8mb4_uca1400_swedish_nopad_ai_cs
  * utf8mb4_uca1400_swedish_nopad_ai_ci

- Introducing a conception of contextually typed named collations:

  CREATE DATABASE db1 CHARACTER SET utf8mb4;
  CREATE TABLE db1.t1 (a CHAR(10) COLLATE uca1400_as_ci);

  The idea is that there is no a need to specify the character set prefix
  in the new collation names. It's enough to type just the suffix
  "uca1400_as_ci". The character set is taken from the context.

  In the above example script the context character set is utf8mb4.
  So the CREATE TABLE will make a column with the collation
  utf8mb4_uca1400_as_ci.

  Short collations names can be used in any parts of the SQL syntax
  where the COLLATE clause is understood.

- New collations are displayed only one time
  (without character set combinations) by these statements:

     SELECT * FROM INFORMATION_SCHEMA.COLLATIONS;
     SHOW COLLATION;

  For example, all these collations:
  - utf8mb3_uca1400_swedish_as_ci
  - utf8mb4_uca1400_swedish_as_ci
  - ucs2_uca1400_swedish_as_ci
  - utf16_uca1400_swedish_as_ci
  - utf32_uca1400_swedish_as_ci
  have just one entry in INFORMATION_SCHEMA.COLLATIONS and SHOW COLLATION,
  with COLLATION_NAME equal to "uca1400_swedish_as_ci", which is the suffix
  without the character set name:

SELECT COLLATION_NAME FROM INFORMATION_SCHEMA.COLLATIONS
WHERE COLLATION_NAME LIKE '%uca1400_swedish_as_ci';

+-----------------------+
| COLLATION_NAME        |
+-----------------------+
| uca1400_swedish_as_ci |
+-----------------------+

  Note, the behaviour of old collations did not change.
  Non-unicode collations (e.g. latin1_swedish_ci) and
  old UCA-4.0.0 collations (e.g. utf8mb4_unicode_ci)
  are still displayed with the character set prefix, as before.

- The structure of the table INFORMATION_SCHEMA.COLLATIONS was changed.

  The NOT NULL constraint was removed from these columns:
  - CHARACTER_SET_NAME
  - ID
  - IS_DEFAULT
  and from the corresponding columns in SHOW COLLATION.

  For example:

SELECT COLLATION_NAME, CHARACTER_SET_NAME, ID, IS_DEFAULT
FROM INFORMATION_SCHEMA.COLLATIONS
WHERE COLLATION_NAME LIKE '%uca1400_swedish_as_ci';
+-----------------------+--------------------+------+------------+
| COLLATION_NAME        | CHARACTER_SET_NAME | ID   | IS_DEFAULT |
+-----------------------+--------------------+------+------------+
| uca1400_swedish_as_ci | NULL               | NULL | NULL       |
+-----------------------+--------------------+------+------------+

  The NULL value in these columns now means that the collation
  is applicable to multiple character sets.
  The behavioir of old collations did not change.
  Make sure your client programs can handle NULL values in these columns.

- The structure of the table
  INFORMATION_SCHEMA.COLLATION_CHARACTER_SET_APPLICABILITY was changed.

  Three new NOT NULL columns were added:
  - FULL_COLLATION_NAME
  - ID
  - IS_DEFAULT

  New collations have multiple entries in COLLATION_CHARACTER_SET_APPLICABILITY.
  The column COLLATION_NAME contains the collation name without the character
  set prefix. The column FULL_COLLATION_NAME contains the collation name with
  the character set prefix.

  Old collations have full collation name in both FULL_COLLATION_NAME and
  COLLATION_NAME.

SELECT COLLATION_NAME, FULL_COLLATION_NAME, CHARACTER_SET_NAME, ID, IS_DEFAULT
FROM INFORMATION_SCHEMA.COLLATION_CHARACTER_SET_APPLICABILITY
WHERE FULL_COLLATION_NAME RLIKE '^(utf8mb4|latin1).*swedish.*ci$';
+-----------------------------+-------------------------------------+--------------------+------+------------+
| COLLATION_NAME              | FULL_COLLATION_NAME                 | CHARACTER_SET_NAME | ID   | IS_DEFAULT |
+-----------------------------+-------------------------------------+--------------------+------+------------+
| latin1_swedish_ci           | latin1_swedish_ci                   | latin1             |    8 | Yes        |
| latin1_swedish_nopad_ci     | latin1_swedish_nopad_ci             | latin1             | 1032 |            |
| utf8mb4_swedish_ci          | utf8mb4_swedish_ci                  | utf8mb4            |  232 |            |
| uca1400_swedish_ai_ci       | utf8mb4_uca1400_swedish_ai_ci       | utf8mb4            | 2368 |            |
| uca1400_swedish_as_ci       | utf8mb4_uca1400_swedish_as_ci       | utf8mb4            | 2370 |            |
| uca1400_swedish_nopad_ai_ci | utf8mb4_uca1400_swedish_nopad_ai_ci | utf8mb4            | 2372 |            |
| uca1400_swedish_nopad_as_ci | utf8mb4_uca1400_swedish_nopad_as_ci | utf8mb4            | 2374 |            |
+-----------------------------+-------------------------------------+--------------------+------+------------+

- Other INFORMATION_SCHEMA queries:

  SELECT COLLATION_NAME FROM INFORMATION_SCHEMA.COLUMNS;
  SELECT COLLATION_NAME FROM INFORMATION_SCHEMA.PARAMETERS;
  SELECT TABLE_COLLATION FROM INFORMATION_SCHEMA.TABLES;
  SELECT DEFAULT_COLLATION_NAME FROM INFORMATION_SCHEMA.SCHEMATA;
  SELECT COLLATION_NAME FROM INFORMATION_SCHEMA.ROUTINES;
  SELECT COLLATION_CONNECTION FROM INFORMATION_SCHEMA.EVENTS;
  SELECT DATABASE_COLLATION FROM INFORMATION_SCHEMA.EVENTS;
  SELECT COLLATION_CONNECTION FROM INFORMATION_SCHEMA.ROUTINES;
  SELECT DATABASE_COLLATION FROM INFORMATION_SCHEMA.ROUTINES;
  SELECT COLLATION_CONNECTION FROM INFORMATION_SCHEMA.TRIGGERS;
  SELECT DATABASE_COLLATION FROM INFORMATION_SCHEMA.TRIGGERS;
  SELECT COLLATION_CONNECTION FROM INFORMATION_SCHEMA.VIEWS;

  display full collation names, including character sets prefix,
  for all collations, including new collations.

  Corresponding SHOW commands also display full collation names
  in collation related columns:

  SHOW CREATE TABLE t1;
  SHOW CREATE DATABASE db1;
  SHOW TABLE STATUS;
  SHOW CREATE FUNCTION f1;
  SHOW CREATE PROCEDURE p1;
  SHOW CREATE EVENT ev1;
  SHOW CREATE TRIGGER tr1;
  SHOW CREATE VIEW;

  These INFORMATION_SCHEMA queries and SHOW statements may change in
  the future, to display show collation names.

a206658b98 Change CHARSET_INFO character set and collaction names to LEX_CSTRING
This change removed 68 explict strlen() calls from the code.

The following renames was done to ensure we don't use the old names
when merging code from earlier releases, as using the new variables
for print function could result in crashes:
- charset->csname renamed to charset->cs_name
- charset->name renamed to charset->coll_name

Almost everything where mechanical changes except:
- Changed to use the new Protocol::store(LEX_CSTRING..) when possible
- Changed to use field->store(LEX_CSTRING*, CHARSET_INFO*) when possible
- Changed to use String->append(LEX_CSTRING&) when possible

Other things:
- There where compiler issues with ensuring that all character set names
  points to the same string: gcc doesn't allow one to use integer constants
  when defining global structures (constant char * pointers works fine).
  To get around this, I declared defines for each character set name
  length.

031f11717d Fix all warnings given by UBSAN
The easiest way to compile and test the server with UBSAN is to run:
./BUILD/compile-pentium64-ubsan
and then run mysql-test-run.
After this commit, one should be able to run this without any UBSAN
warnings. There is still a few compiler warnings that should be fixed
at some point, but these do not expose any real bugs.

The 'special' cases where we disable, suppress or circumvent UBSAN are:
- ref10 source (as here we intentionally do some shifts that UBSAN
  complains about.
- x86 version of optimized int#korr() methods. UBSAN do not like unaligned
  memory access of integers. Fixed by using byte_order_generic.h when
  compiling with UBSAN
- We use smaller thread stack with ASAN and UBSAN, which forced me to
  disable a few tests that prints the thread stack size.
- Verifying class types does not work for shared libraries. I added
  suppression in mysql-test-run.pl for this case.
- Added '#ifdef WITH_UBSAN' when using integer arithmetic where it is
  safe to have overflows (two cases, in item_func.cc).

Things fixed:
- Don't left shift signed values
  (byte_order_generic.h, mysqltest.c, item_sum.cc and many more)
- Don't assign not non existing values to enum variables.
- Ensure that bool and enum values are properly initialized in
  constructors. This was needed as UBSAN checks that these types has
  correct values when one copies an object.
  (gcalc_tools.h, ha_partition.cc, item_sum.cc, partition_element.h ...)
- Ensure we do not called handler functions on unallocated objects or
  deleted objects.
  (events.cc, sql_acl.cc).
- Fixed bugs in Item_sp::Item_sp() where we did not call constructor
  on Query_arena object.
- Fixed several cast of objects to an incompatible class!
  (Item.cc, Item_buff.cc, item_timefunc.cc, opt_subselect.cc, sql_acl.cc,
   sql_select.cc ...)
- Ensure we do not do integer arithmetic that causes over or underflows.
  This includes also ++ and -- of integers.
  (Item_func.cc, Item_strfunc.cc, item_timefunc.cc, sql_base.cc ...)
- Added JSON_VALUE_UNITIALIZED to json_value_types and ensure that
  value_type is initialized to this instead of to -1, which is not a valid
  enum value for json_value_types.
- Ensure we do not call memcpy() when second argument could be null.
- Fixed that Item_func_str::make_empty_result() creates an empty string
  instead of a null string (safer as it ensures we do not do arithmetic
  on null strings).

Other things:

- Changed struct st_position to an OBJECT and added an initialization
  function to it to ensure that we do not copy or use uninitialized
  members. The change to a class was also motived that we used "struct
  st_position" and POSITION randomly trough the code which was
  confusing.
- Notably big rewrite in sql_acl.cc to avoid using deleted objects.
- Changed in sql_partition to use '^' instead of '-'. This is safe as
  the operator is either 0 or 0x8000000000000000ULL.
- Added check for select_nr < INT_MAX in JOIN::build_explain() to
  avoid bug when get_select() could return NULL.
- Reordered elements in POSITION for better alignment.
- Changed sql_test.cc::print_plan() to use pointers instead of objects.
- Fixed bug in find_set() where could could execute '1 << -1'.
- Added variable have_sanitizer, used by mtr. (This variable was before
  only in 10.5 and up). It can now have one of two values:
  ASAN or UBSAN.
- Moved ~Archive_share() from ha_archive.cc to ha_archive.h and marked
  it virtual. This was an effort to get UBSAN to work with loaded storage
  engines. I kept the change as the new place is better.
- Added in CONNECT engine COLBLK::SetName(), to get around a wrong cast
  in tabutil.cpp.
- Added HAVE_REPLICATION around usage of rgi_slave, to get embedded
  server to compile with UBSAN. (Patch from Marko).
- Added #ifdef for powerpc64 to avoid a bug in old gcc versions related
  to integer arithmetic.

Changes that should not be needed but had to be done to suppress warnings
from UBSAN:

- Added static_cast<<uint16_t>> around shift to get rid of a LOT of
  compiler warnings when using UBSAN.
- Had to change some '/' of 2 base integers to shift to get rid of
  some compile time warnings.

91ab42a823 Clean up and speed up interfaces for binary row logging
MDEV-21605 Clean up and speed up interfaces for binary row logging
MDEV-21617 Bug fix for previous version of this code

The intention is to have as few 'if' as possible in ha_write() and
related functions. This is done by pre-calculating once per statement the
row_logging state for all tables.

Benefits are simpler and faster code both when binary logging is disabled
and when it's enabled.

Changes:
- Added handler->row_logging to make it easy to check it table should be
  row logged. This also made it easier to disabling row logging for system,
  internal and temporary tables.
- The tables row_logging capabilities are checked once per "statements
  that updates tables" in THD::binlog_prepare_for_row_logging() which
  is called when needed from THD::decide_logging_format().
- Removed most usage of tmp_disable_binlog(), reenable_binlog() and
  temporary saving and setting of thd->variables.option_bits.
- Moved checks that can't change during a statement from
  check_table_binlog_row_based() to check_table_binlog_row_based_internal()
- Removed flag row_already_logged (used by sequence engine)
- Moved binlog_log_row() to a handler::
- Moved write_locked_table_maps() to THD::binlog_write_table_maps() as
  most other related binlog functions are in THD.
- Removed binlog_write_table_map() and binlog_log_row_internal() as
  they are now obsolete as 'has_transactions()' is pre-calculated in
  prepare_for_row_logging().
- Remove 'is_transactional' argument from binlog_write_table_map() as this
  can now be read from handler.
- Changed order of 'if's in handler::external_lock() and wsrep_mysqld.h
  to first evaluate fast and likely cases before more complex ones.
- Added error checking in ha_write_row() and related functions if
  binlog_log_row() failed.
- Don't clear check_table_binlog_row_based_result in
  clear_cached_table_binlog_row_based_flag() as it's not needed.
- THD::clear_binlog_table_maps() has been replaced with
  THD::reset_binlog_for_next_statement()
- Added 'MYSQL_OPEN_IGNORE_LOGGING_FORMAT' flag to open_and_lock_tables()
  to avoid calculating of binary log format for internal opens. This flag
  is also used to avoid reading statistics tables for internal tables.
- Added OPTION_BINLOG_LOG_OFF as a simple way to turn of binlog temporary
  for create (instead of using THD::sql_log_bin_off.
- Removed flag THD::sql_log_bin_off (not needed anymore)
- Speed up THD::decide_logging_format() by remembering if blackhole engine
  is used and avoid a loop over all tables if it's not used
  (the common case).
- THD::decide_logging_format() is not called anymore if no tables are used
  for the statement. This will speed up pure stored procedure code with
  about 5%+ according to some simple tests.
- We now get annotated events on slave if a CREATE ... SELECT statement
  is transformed on the slave from statement to row logging.
- In the original code, the master could come into a state where row
  logging is enforced for all future events if statement could be used.
  This is now partly fixed.

Other changes:
- Ensure that all tables used by a statement has query_id set.
- Had to restore the row_logging flag for not used tables in
  THD::binlog_write_table_maps (not normal scenario)
- Removed injector::transaction::use_table(server_id_type sid, table tbl)
  as it's not used.
- Cleaned up set_slave_thread_options()
- Some more DBUG_ENTER/DBUG_RETURN, code comments and minor indentation
  changes.
- Ensure we only call THD::decide_logging_format_low() once in
  mysql_insert() (inefficiency).
- Don't annotate INSERT DELAYED
- Removed zeroing pos_in_table_list in THD::open_temporary_table() as it's
  already 0

0fd5b11eb0 MDEV-20511: Galera replication of events is not consistent
After SST from master node (the one where event is ENABLED) - you will end up with the event enabled on two nodes, hence it's now being executed twice. It can be solved by comparing event's originator with server_id. if not equal, then change its status to 'SLAVESIDE_DISABLED'
