The patch for WL 1563 added a new duplicate key error message so that the
key name could be provided instead of the key number. But the error code
for the new message was used even though that did not need to change.
This could cause unnecessary problems for applications that used the old
ER_DUP_ENTRY error code to detect duplicate key errors.
- Create "--ps-protocol" and no "--<whatever>-protocol" variants of the former tests
t/grant_cache.test and t/query_cache_sql_prepare.test.
- Some additional subtest and fixes of bugs
- Minor improvements
and invalidation in the most general case (non-temporary table and
not simple RENAME or ENABLE/DISABLE KEYS or partitioning command).

These changes are prerequisite for 5.1 version of fix for bug #23667
"CREATE TABLE LIKE is not isolated from alteration by other connections"
TABLES" and failures of alter_table.test on Windows which occured after
pushing fix for bugs #20662, #20903, #24508, #24738 (various problems
with CREATE TABLE SELECT).
ALTER TABLE statements which were handled using "fast" alter table
optimization were not properly working under LOCK TABLES if table
was transactional (for all table types under Windows).
Code implementing "fast" version of ALTER TABLE tried to open and
lock table using open_ltable() after renaming .FRM files (which
corresponds to renaming tables in normal case) in some cases
(for transactional tables or on Windows). This caused problems
under LOCK TABLES and conflicted with name-lock taken by
ALTER TABLE RENAME on target tables.
This patch solves this issue by using reopen_name_locked_table()
instead of open_ltable().
DATE and DATETIME can be compared either as strings or as int. Both
methods have their disadvantages. Strings can contain valid DATETIME value
but have insignificant zeros omitted thus became non-comparable with
other DATETIME strings. The comparison as int usually will require conversion
from the string representation and the automatic conversion in most cases is
carried out in a wrong way thus producing wrong comparison result. Another
problem occurs when one tries to compare DATE field with a DATETIME constant.
The constant is converted to DATE losing its precision i.e. losing time part.
This fix addresses the problems described above by adding a special
DATE/DATETIME comparator. The comparator correctly converts DATE/DATETIME
string values to int when it's necessary, adds zero time part (00:00:00)
to DATE values to compare them correctly to DATETIME values. Due to correct
conversion malformed DATETIME string values are correctly compared to other
DATE/DATETIME values.
As of this patch a DATE value equals to DATETIME value with zero time part.
For example '2001-01-01' equals to '2001-01-01 00:00:00'.
The compare_datetime() function is added to the Arg_comparator class.
It implements the correct comparator for DATE/DATETIME values.
Two supplementary functions called get_date_from_str() and get_datetime_value()
are added. The first one extracts DATE/DATETIME value from a string and the
second one retrieves the correct DATE/DATETIME value from an item.
The new Arg_comparator::can_compare_as_dates() function is added and used
to check whether two given items can be compared by the compare_datetime()
comparator.
Two caching variables were added to the Arg_comparator class to speedup the
DATE/DATETIME comparison.
One more store() method was added to the Item_cache_int class to cache int
values.
The new is_datetime() function was added to the Item class. It indicates
whether the item returns a DATE/DATETIME value.
- both for data schema operations
- also make sure schema events vet the right server id when injected into the binlog
- use same mechanism to signal server_id in bug#17095, and reserve some "id's" for flagging special conditions on the event, in this case do not log it
- enable printing of server ids in the testcases to show that we cot it right
(Removes some warnings about UNIX_TIMESTAMP from the slave.err logs)
Marked federated_server as a '--big-test'
Change error in net_clear to 'Note', as it interfered with mysql-test-run.
This patch removes the SLAVESIDE_DISABLED token from the event status clause
and adds the ability to mark an event as status = SLAVESIDE_DISABLED by using
the syntax DISABLE ON SLAVE instead.
The patch also adds tests to rpl_events to check the new syntax.
This patch changes test to remove Windows-specific limitations and potential
rounding errors in the calculation of a UDF.
Also corrects a minor merge conflict.
Adding an event that can be used to denote that an incident occured
on the master. The event can be used to denote a gap in the replication
stream, but can also be used to denote other incidents.
In addition, the injector interface is extended with functions to
generate an incident event. The function will also rotate the binary
log after generating an incident event to get a fresh binary log.
This patch corrects errors that occurred in a local manual merge as a result
of updating the local repository and includes changes necessary to correct
problems found during the recalculation of next execution of events in RBR.
Fix is to rewrite the MBR::overlaps() function, to compute the dimension of both
arguments, and the dimension of the intersection; test that all three dimensions are the
same (e.g., all are Polygons).
Add tests for all MBR* functions for various combinations of shapes, lines and points.

BUG#26429: SHOW CREATE EVENT is incorrect for an event that
STARTS NOW()
BUG#26431: Impossible to re-create an event from backup if its
STARTS clause is in the past
WL#3698: Events: execution in local time zone
The problem was that local times specified by the user in AT, STARTS
and ENDS of CREATE EVENT/ALTER EVENT statement were converted to UTC,
and the original time zone was forgotten. This way, event scheduler
couldn't honor Daylight Saving Time shifts, and times shown to the
user were also in UTC. Additionally, CREATE EVENT didn't allow times
in the past, thus preventing straightforward event restoration from
old backups.
This patch reworks event scheduler time computations, performing them
in the time zone associated with the event. Also it allows times to
be in the past.
The patch adds time_zone column to mysql.event table.
NOTE: The patch is almost final, but the bug#9953 should be pushed
first.
This changeset adds replication of events and user-defined functions.
There are several bug reports involved in this change:
BUG#16421, BUG#17857, BUG#20384:
This patch modifies the mysql.events table to permit the addition of
another enum value for the status column. The column now has values
of ('DISABLED','SLAVESIDE_DISABLED','ENABLED'). A status of
SLAVESIDE_DISABLED is set on the slave during replication of events.
This enables users to determine which events werereplicated from the
master and to later enable them if they promote the slave to a master.
The CREATE, ALTER, and DROP statements are binlogged.
A new test was added for replication of events (rpl_events).
BUG#17671:
This patch modifies the code to permit logging of user-defined functions.
Note: this is the CREATE FUNCTION ... SONAME variety. A more friendly error
message to be displayed should a replicated user-defined function not be
found in the loadable library or if the library is missing from the
slave. The CREATE andDROP statements are binlogged. A new test was added
for replication of user-defined functions (rpl_udf).
The patch also adds a new column to the mysql.event table named
'originator' that is used to store the server_id of the server that
the event originated on. This enables users to promote a slave to a
master and later return the promoted slave to a slave and disable the
replicated events.
Cache".
WL#1569 "Prepared Statements: implement support of Query Cache".
Prepared SELECTs did not look up in the query cache, and their results
were not stored in the query cache. This made them slower than
non-prepared SELECTs in some cases.
The fix is to re-use the expanded query (the prepared query where
"?" placeholders are replaced by their values, at execution time)
for searching/storing in the query cache.
It works fine for statements prepared via mysql_stmt_prepare(), which
are the most commonly used and were the scope of this bugfix and WL.
It works less fine for statements prepared via the SQL command
PREPARE...FROM, which are still not using the query cache if they
have at least one parameter (because then the expanded query contains
names of user variables, and user variables don't work with the
query cache, even in non-prepared queries).
Note that results from prepared SELECTs, which are in the binary
protocol, and results from normal SELECTs, which are in the text
protocol, ignore each other in the query cache, because a result in the
binary protocol should never be served to a SELECT expecting the text
protocol and vice-versa.
Note, after this patch, bug 25843 starts applying to query cache
("changing default database between PREPARE and EXECUTE of statement
breaks binlog"), we need to fix it.
1. Fixes within the testscripts (affects rpl_ddl.test and rpl_ndb_ddl.test)
- slave connection is only an observer (-> AUTOCOMMIT = 0)
This removes the problem with the hanging test around DROP DATABASE (NDB). The hanging test around DROP DATABASE is a difference to InnoDB/MyISAm behaviour but fare
away of a clear bug. IMHO this behaviour does not violate the SQL standard and should be therefore simply accepted.
- removal of wrong comments
- CREATE/DROP TEMPORARY TABLE must not cause implicit commit of the current transaction.
NDB behaves here correct and InnoDB/Falcon wrong.
- Add a missing connection slave
- Reenable the test rpl_ndb_ddl.
2. Disable rpl_ddl.test because of Bug#26418.
3. Reenable rpl_ndb_ddl.test
4. Improvements (affect rpl_ddl.test and rpl_ndb_ddl.test)
- Better + extended comments which should prevent that somebody accidently destroys the logics of the test
- Replace SELECT's printing comments by "--echo" (decreases the number of auxiliary SQL commands)
- Remove the need for include/rpl_stmt_seq2.inc (was mostly redundant to rpl_stmt_seq.inc)
- Remove extra/rpl_tests/rpl_ndb_ddl.test (corrected extra/rpl_tests/rpl_ddl.test is sufficient)
- Shift assignment of values to $show_binlog, $manipulate (variables useful for debugging) into the toplevel scripts
- The temporary tables get now their storage engine from the variable $temp_engine_type. (more deterministic testing conditions)
- Add additional protocol line if the connection is switched (was partially missing)
- Add two DML commands for comparison purposes
If we compare two items A and B, with B being (a constant) of a
larger type, then A gets promoted to B's type for comparison if
it's a constant, function, or CAST() column, but B gets demoted
to A's type if A is a (not explicitly CAST()) column. This is
counter-intuitive and not mandated by the standard.
Disabling optimisation where it would be lossy so field value
will properly get promoted and compared as binary string (rather
than as integers).

tables' lock."
Execution of ALTER TABLE ... ENABLE KEYS on a table (which can take rather
long time) prevented concurrent execution of all statements using tables.
The problem was caused by the fact that we were holding LOCK_open mutex
during whole duration of this statement and particularly during call
to handler::enable_indexes(). This behavior was introduced as part of the
fix for bug 14262 "SP: DROP PROCEDURE|VIEW (maybe more) write to binlog
too late (race cond)"
The patch simply restores old behavior. Note that we can safely do this as
this operation takes exclusive lock (similar to name-lock) which blocks both
DML and DDL on the table being altered.
It also introduces mysql-test/include/wait_show_pattern.inc helper script
which is used to make test-case for this bug robust enough.
The problem was that the events_bugs test could randomly fail due to
races in the test case.
The solution is to replace fixed sleeps with reliable polling of a
certain state to settle. For that, a new auxiliary script
include/wait_condition.inc is used, that allows waiting for a given
query to return true.
Added missing DBUG_RETURN statements (in mysqldump.c)
