9c32088322 Fixed that when using a trigger mysql.proc is now accessed
Cleanup: Changed procedure type from a int/char to an enum for easier to manage and debug code.

mysql-test/r/trigger.result:
Test that mysql.proc is not used as part of creating or using a trigger.
mysql-test/t/trigger.test:
Test that mysql.proc is not used as part of creating or using a trigger.
sql/sp.cc:
The main bug fix is to not look up triggers in mysql.proc; This is done by ignoreing type == TYPE_ENUM_TRIGGER in sp_add_used_routine()

bc7af17579 Fixed Bug#11756013 (formerly known as bug#47870):
BOGUS "THE TABLE MYSQL.PROC IS MISSING,..."

There was a race condition between loading a stored routine
(function/procedure/trigger) specified by fully qualified name
SCHEMA_NAME.PROC_NAME and dropping the stored routine database.

The problem was that there is a window for race condition when one server
thread tries to load a stored routine being executed and the other thread
tries to drop the stored routine schema.

This condition race window exists in implementation of function
mysql_change_db() called by db_load_routine() during loading of stored
routine to cache. Function mysql_change_db() calls check_db_dir_existence()
that might failed because specified database was dropped during concurrent
execution of DROP SCHEMA statement. db_load_routine() calls mysql_change_db()
with flag 'force_switch' set to 'true' value so when referenced db is not found
then my_error() is not called and function mysql_change_db() returns ok.
This shadows information about schema opening error in db_load_routine().
Then db_load_routine() makes attempt to parse stored routine that is failed.
This makes to return error to sp_cache_routines_and_add_tables_aux() but since
during error generation a call to my_error wasn't made and hence
THD::main_da wasn't set we set the generic "mysql.proc table corrupt" error
when running sp_cache_routines_and_add_tables_aux().

The fix is to install an error handler inside db_load_routine() for
the mysql_op_change_db() call, and check later if the ER_BAD_DB_ERROR
was caught.

sql/sql_db.cc:
Added synchronization point "before_db_dir_check" to emulate a race condition during
  processing of CALL/DROP SCHEMA.

a4fff491eb Fix that one can run mysql_upgrade with long table names
Fall back to use ALTER TABLE for engines that doesn't support REPAIR when doing repair for upgrade.
Nicer output from mysql_upgrade and mysql_check
Updated all arrays that used NAME_LEN to use SAFE_NAME_LEN to ensure that we don't break things accidently as names can now have a #mysql50# prefix.

0f9ddfa9d8 Bug#42733: Type-punning warnings when compiling MySQL --
strict aliasing violations.

One somewhat major source of strict-aliasing violations and
related warnings is the SQL_LIST structure. For example,
consider its member function `link_in_list` which takes
a pointer to pointer of type T (any type) as a pointer to
pointer to unsigned char. Dereferencing this pointer, which
is done to reset the next field, violates strict-aliasing
rules and might cause problems for surrounding code that
uses the next field of the object being added to the list.

The solution is to use templates to parametrize the SQL_LIST
structure in order to deference the pointers with compatible
types. As a side bonus, it becomes possible to remove quite
a few casts related to acessing data members of SQL_LIST.

sql/handler.h:
Use the appropriate template type argument.
sql/item.cc:
  Remove now-unnecessary cast.
sql/item_subselect.cc:
  Remove now-unnecessary casts.
sql/item_sum.cc:
Use the appropriate template type argument.
  Remove now-unnecessary cast.
sql/mysql_priv.h:
  Move SQL_LIST structure to sql_list.h
Use the appropriate template type argument.
sql/sp.cc:

sql/sql_delete.cc:
Use the appropriate template type argument.
  Remove now-unnecessary casts.
sql/sql_derived.cc:
  Remove now-unnecessary casts.
sql/sql_lex.cc:
  Remove now-unnecessary casts.
sql/sql_lex.h:
SQL_LIST now takes a template type argument which must
match the type of the elements of the list. Use forward
declaration when the type is not available, it is used
  in pointers anyway.
sql/sql_list.h:
Rename SQL_LIST to SQL_I_List. The template parameter is
the type of object that is stored in the list.
sql/sql_olap.cc:
  Remove now-unnecessary casts.
sql/sql_parse.cc:
  Remove now-unnecessary casts.

ac6b3c4430 few small MySQL bugs/issues that impact the engines, as discussed in the SE summit
* remove handler::index_read_last()
* create handler::keyread_read_time() (was get_index_only_read_time() in opt_range.cc)
* ha_show_status() allows engine's show_status() to fail
* remove HTON_FLUSH_AFTER_RENAME
* fix key_cmp_if_same() to work for floats and doubles
* set table->status in the server, don't force engines to do it
* increment status vars in the server, don't force engines to do it

mysql-test/r/status_user.result:
correct test results - innodb was wrongly counting internal
  index searches as handler_read_* calls.
sql/ha_partition.cc:
compensate for handler incrementing status counters -
we want to count only calls to underlying engines
sql/handler.h:
  inline methods moved to sql_class.h
sql/key.cc:
  simplify the check
sql/opt_range.cc:
move get_index_only_read_time to the handler class
sql/sp.cc:
don't use a key that's stored in the record buffer -
the engine can overwrite the buffer with anything, destroying the key
sql/sql_class.h:
inline handler methods that need to see THD and TABLE definitions
sql/sql_select.cc:
  no ha_index_read_last_map anymore
sql/sql_table.cc:
  remove HTON_FLUSH_AFTER_RENAME
sql/table.cc:
  set HA_CAN_MEMCMP as appropriate
sql/tztime.cc:
don't use a key that's stored in the record buffer -
the engine can overwrite the buffer with anything, destroying the key
storage/myisam/ha_myisam.cc:
engines don't need to update table->status or use ha_statistic_increment anymore
storage/myisam/ha_myisam.h:
  index_read_last_map is no more

c2ebb0ac88 Bug #42064: low memory crash when importing hex strings, in
Item_hex_string::Item_hex_string

The status of memory allocation in the Lex_input_stream (called
from the Parser_state constructor) was not checked which led to
a parser crash in case of the out-of-memory error.

The solution is to introduce new init() member function in
Parser_state and Lex_input_stream so that status of memory
allocation can be returned to the caller.

3cae7d1187 Bug #49132 Replication failure on temporary table + DDL
In RBR, DDL statement will change binlog format to non row-based
format before it is binlogged, but the binlog format was not be
restored, and then manipulating a temporary table can not reset binlog
format to row-based format rightly. So that the manipulated statement
is binlogged with statement-based format.

To fix the problem, restore the state of binlog format after the DDL
statement is binlogged.

d7abca9ac3 Bug#48766 SHOW CREATE FUNCTION returns extra data in return clause
Problem: SHOW CREATE FUNCTION and SELECT DTD_IDENTIFIER FROM I_S.ROUTINES
returned wrong values in case of ENUM return data type and UCS2
character set.

Fix: the string to collect returned data type was incorrectly set to
"binary" character set, therefore UCS2 values where returned with
extra '\0' characters.
Setting string character set to creation_ctx->get_client_cs()
in sp_find_routine(), and to system_charset_info in sp_create_routine
fixes the problem.

Adding tests:
- the original test with Latin letters
- an extra test with non-Latin letters

c70a9fa1e3 Bug#41726: upgrade from 5.0 to 5.1.30 crashes if you didn't run mysql_upgrade
The problem is that the server could crash when attempting
to access a non-conformant proc system table. One such case
was a crash when invoking stored procedure related statements
on a 5.1 server with a proc system table in the 5.0 format.

The solution is to validate the proc system table format
before attempts to access it are made. If the table is not
in the format that the server expects, a message is written
to the error log and the statement that caused the table to
be accessed fails.

7b4ef910f7 Bug #40877: multi statement execution fails in 5.1.30
Implemented the server infrastructure for the fix:

1. Added a function LEX_STRING *thd_query_string(THD) to return
a LEX_STRING structure instead of char *.
This is the function that must be called in innodb instead of
thd_query()

2. Did some encapsulation in THD : aggregated thd_query and
thd_query_length into a LEX_STRING and made accessor and mutator
methods for easy code updating.

3. Updated the server code to use the new methods where applicable.

043e09b543 BUG#41166 stored function requires "deterministic" if binlog_format is "statement"
If the log_bin_trust_function_creators option is not defined, creating a stored
function requires either one of the modifiers DETERMINISTIC, NO SQL, or READS
SQL DATA. Executing a stored function should also follows the same rules if in
STATEMENT mode. However, this was not happening and a wrong error was being
printed out: ER_BINLOG_ROW_RBR_TO_SBR.

The patch makes the creation and execution compatible and prints out the correct
error ER_BINLOG_UNSAFE_ROUTINE when a stored function without one of the modifiers
above is executed in STATEMENT mode.

66e0ee6639 Bug#44658 Create procedure makes server crash when user does not have ALL privilege
MySQL crashes if a user without proper privileges attempts to create a procedure.

The crash happens because more than one error state is pushed onto the Diagnostic
area. In this particular case the user is denied to implicitly create a new user
account with the implicitly granted privileges ALTER- and EXECUTE ROUTINE.

The new account is needed if the original user account contained a host mask.
A user account with a host mask is a distinct user account in this context.
An alternative would be to first get the most permissive user account which
include the current user connection and then assign privileges to that
account. This behavior change is considered out of scope for this bug patch.

The implicit assignment of privileges when a user creates a stored routine is a
considered to be a feature for user convenience and as such it is not
a critical operation. Any failure to complete this operation is thus considered
non-fatal (an error becomes a warning).

The patch back ports a stack implementation of the internal error handler interface.
This enables the use of multiple error handlers so that it is possible to intercept
and cancel errors thrown by lower layers. This is needed as a error handler already
is used in the call stack emitting the errors which needs to be converted.

When the thread executing a DDL was killed after finished its

 1) modified mysqltest to support variable for connection command

 2) modified mysql-test-run.pl, add new variable MYSQL_SLAVE to

e73e7bb9ae Bug#35577 (CREATE PROCEDURE causes either crash or syntax error depending on
build)

The crash was caused by freeing the internal parser stack during the parser
execution.
This occured only for complex stored procedures, after reallocating the parser
stack using my_yyoverflow(), with the following C call stack:
- MYSQLparse()
- any rule calling sp_head::restore_lex()
- lex_end()
- x_free(lex->yacc_yyss), xfree(lex->yacc_yyvs)

The root cause is the implementation of stored procedures, which breaks the
assumption from 4.1 that there is only one LEX structure per parser call.

The solution is to separate the LEX structure into:
- attributes that represent a statement (the current LEX structure),
- attributes that relate to the syntax parser itself (Yacc_state),
so that parsing multiple statements in stored programs can create multiple
LEX structures while not changing the unique Yacc_state.

Now, Yacc_state and the existing Lex_input_stream are aggregated into
Parser_state, a structure that represent the complete state of the (Lexical +
Syntax) parser.

55012e427b Bug#36570: Parse error of CREATE PROCEDURE stmt with comments on \
slave

The stored-routine code took the contents of the (lowest) parser
and copied it directly to the binlog, which causes problems if there
is a special case of interpretation at the parser level -- which
there is, in the "/*!VER */" comments. The trailing "*/" caused
errors on the slave, naturally.

Now, since by that point we have /properly/ created parse-tree (as
the rest of the server should do!) for the stored-routine CREATE, we
can construct a perfect statement from that information, instead of
writing uncertain information from an unknown parser state.
Fortunately, there's already a function nearby that does exactly
that.
---

  ---

sql/sp.cc:
In create_string, we may not have a sp_name parameter yet, so
instead pass the char* and length of the only member we'd get out
  of it.

Having done that, we can use the same function to write the
CREATE (FUNC|TRIG|PROC) statement to the binlog as we always used
to display the statement to the user.

cae6079f5a Bug#36570: Parse error of CREATE PROCEDURE stmt with comments on \

Fortunately, there's already a function nearby that does exactly
that.

Add version-limiting quotes to exercise bug#36570. Test that
backtick-quoted identifiers and labels work also.

1ac319248f Bug #30604: different flagging of time_zone_used in normal
and ps-protocol
Finding a routine should be a transparent operation as
far as the binary log is concerned.
But it was influencing the binary log because of the TIMESTAMP
column in the proc table.

Fixed by preserving and restoring the time_zone usage flag when
searching for a stored routine in the proc table.
