897d87f63a merge 5.1-bugteam (local) --> 5.1-bugteam 2009-11-21 13:02:18 +00:00

a962160eec Merge with MySQL 5.1, with following additions:
- Moved some code from innodb_plugin to xtradb, to ensure that all tests runs
- Did changes in pbxt and maria storage engines becasue of changes in thd->query
- Reverted wrong code in sql_table.cc for how ROW_FORMAT is used.

This is a re-commit of Monty's merge to eliminate an extra commit from
MySQL-5.1.42 that was accidentally included in the merge.

This is a merge of the MySQL 5.1.41 clone-off (clone-5.1.41-build). In
case there are any extra changes done before final MySQL 5.1.41
release, these will need to be merged later before MariaDB 5.1.41
release.

46ca22b093 BUG#48357: SHOW BINLOG EVENTS: Wrong offset or I/O error
In function log_event.cc:Query_log_event::write, there was a cast that
was triggering undefined behavior. The offending cast is the
following:

  write_str_with_code_and_len((char **)(&start),
                              catalog, catalog_len, Q_CATALOG_NZ_CODE);

This results in calling write_str_with_code_and_len with first
argument pointing to a (char **) while "start" is itself a pointer to
uchar (uchar *). Inside write_str_with_..., the content of start is
then be updated:

  (*dst)+= len;

The instruction above would cause the (*dst) pointer (ie, the "start"
argument, from the caller point of view, and which actually points to
uchar instead of pointing to char) to be updated so that it would
increment catalog_len. However, this seems to break strict-aliasing
rules ultimately causing the increment and assignment to behave
unexpectedly.

We fix this by removing the cast and by making the types match.

7e5cf52c3e BUG#48091 valgrind errors when slave has double not null and master has double null
Backporting BUG#43789 to mysql-5.1-bugteam

The replication was generating corrupted data, warning messages on Valgrind
and aborting on debug mode while replicating a "null" to "not null" field.
Specifically the unpack_row routine, was considering the slave's table
definition and trying to retrieve a field value, where there was nothing to be
retrieved, ignoring the fact that the value was defined as "null" by the master.

To fix the problem, we proceed as follows:

1 - If it is not STRICT sql_mode, implicit default values are used, regardless
if it is multi-row or single-row statement.

2 - However, if it is STRICT mode, then a we do what follows:

2.1 If it is a transactional engine, we do a rollback on the first NULL that is
to be set into a NOT NULL column and return an error.

2.2 If it is a non-transactional engine and it is the first row to be inserted
with multi-row, we also return the error. Otherwise, we proceed with the
execution, use implicit default values and print out warning messages.

Unfortunately, the current patch cannot mimic the behavior showed by the master
for updates on multi-tables and multi-row inserts. This happens because such
statements are unfolded in different row events. For instance, considering the
following updates and strict mode:

(master)
create table t1 (a int);
create table t2 (a int not null);
insert into t1 values (1);
insert into t2 values (2);
update t1, t2 SET t1.a=10, t2.a=NULL;

t1 would have (10) and t2 would have (0) as this would be handled as a
multi-row update. On the other hand, if we had the following updates:

(master)
create table t1 (a int);
create table t2 (a int);

(slave)
create table t1 (a int);
create table t2 (a int not null);

(master)
insert into t1 values (1);
insert into t2 values (2);
update t1, t2 SET t1.a=10, t2.a=NULL;

On the master t1 would have (10) and t2 would have (NULL). On
the slave, t1 would have (10) but the update on t1 would fail.

deea727fce BUG#48091 valgrind errors when slave has double not null and master has double null
Backporting BUG#38173 to mysql-5.1-bugteam

The reason of the bug was incompatibile with the master side behaviour.
INSERT query on the master is allowed to insert into a table without specifying
values of DEFAULT-less fields if sql_mode is not strict.

Fixed with checking sql_mode by the sql thread to decide how to react.
Non-strict sql_mode should allow Write_rows event to complete.

todo: warnings can be shown via show slave status, still this is a
separate rather general issue how to show warnings for the slave threads.

function replaces db_name by new_name in a buffer containing
Table_map event read from the binary log.

7b4ef910f7 Bug #40877: multi statement execution fails in 5.1.30
Implemented the server infrastructure for the fix:

1. Added a function LEX_STRING *thd_query_string(THD) to return
a LEX_STRING structure instead of char *.
This is the function that must be called in innodb instead of
thd_query()

2. Did some encapsulation in THD : aggregated thd_query and
thd_query_length into a LEX_STRING and made accessor and mutator
methods for easy code updating.

3. Updated the server code to use the new methods where applicable.

f9c6730258 Bug#46640: output from mysqlbinlog command in 5.1 breaks replication
The BINLOG statement was sharing too much code with the slave SQL thread, introduced with
the patch for Bug#32407. This caused statements to be logged with the wrong server_id, the
id stored inside the events of the BINLOG statement rather than the id of the running
server.

Fix by rearranging code a bit so that only relevant parts of the code are executed by
the BINLOG statement, and the server_id of the server executing the statements will
not be overrided by the server_id stored in the 'format description BINLOG statement'.

mysql-test/extra/binlog_tests/binlog.test:
Added test to verify if the server_id stored in the 'format
description BINLOG statement' will override the server_id
of the server executing the statements.

sql/log_event.cc:
Moved rows_event_stmt_clean() call from update_pos() to apply_event(). This in any case
makes more sense, and is needed as update_pos() is no longer called when executing
  BINLOG statements.

  Moved setting of rli->relay_log.description_event_for_exec from
  Format_description_log_event::do_update_pos() to
  Format_description_log_event::do_apply_event()
sql/log_event_old.cc:
Moved rows_event_stmt_clean() call from update_pos() to apply_event(). This in any case
makes more sense, and is needed as update_pos() is no longer called when executing
  BINLOG statements.
sql/slave.cc:
The skip flag is no longer needed, as the code path for BINLOG statement has been
  cleaned up.
sql/sql_binlog.cc:
Don't invoke the update_pos() code path for the BINLOG statement, as it contains code
that is redundant and/or harmful (especially setting thd->server_id).

4102363f37 Bug#43746: YACC return wrong query string when parse 'load data infile' sql statement
"load data" statements were written to the binlog as a mix of the original statement
and bits recreated from parse-info. This relied on implementation details and broke
with IGNORE_SPACES and versioned comments.

We now completely resynthesize the query for LOAD DATA for binlog (which among other
things normalizes them somewhat with regard to case, spaces, etc.).
We have already parsed the query properly, so we make use of that rather
than mix-and-match string literals and parsed items.
This should make us safe with regard to versioned comments, even those
spanning multiple tokens. Also no longer affected by IGNORE_SPACES.

sql/log_event.h:
We already have three places where we synthesize LOAD DATA queries.
  Better use one of those!
sql/sql_lex.h:
When binlogging LOAD DATA statements, we make up the statement to
be logged (from the parse-info, rather than substrings of the
original query) now. Consequently, we no longer need (string-)
  pointers into the original query.
sql/sql_load.cc:
Completely rewrote write_execute_load_query_log_event() to synthesize the
LOAD DATA statement wholesale, rather than piece it together from
synthesized bits and literal excerpts from the original query. This
will not only give us a nice, normalized statement (all uppercase,
no excess spaces, etc.), it will also handle comments, including
versioned comments right, which is certainly more than we can say
  about the previous incarnation.
sql/sql_yacc.yy:
We're no longer assembling LOAD DATA statements from bodyparts of the
original query, so some bookkeeping in the parser can go.

3d211f3981 BUG#47312: RBR: Disabling key on slave breaks replication:
HA_ERR_WRONG_INDEX

In RBR, disabling keys on slave table will break replication when
updating or deleting a record. When the slave thread tries to
find the row, by searching in the storage engine, it checks
whether the table has a key or not. If it has one, then the slave
thread uses it to search the record.

Nonetheless, the slave only checks whether the key exists or not,
it does not verify if it is active. Should the key be
disabled (eg, DBA has issued an ALTER TABLE ... DISABLE KEYS)
then it will result in error: HA_ERR_WRONG_INDEX.

This patch addresses this issue by making the slave thread also
check whether the key is active or not before actually using it.

Problem: when replicating from non-transactional to

e436b8866b BUG#45999 Row based replication fails when auto_increment field = 0
In RBR, There is an inconsistency between slaves and master.
When INSERT statement which includes an auto_increment field is executed,
Store engine of master will check the value of the auto_increment field.
It will generate a sequence number and then replace the value, if its value is NULL or empty.
if the field's value is 0, the store engine will do like encountering the NULL values
unless NO_AUTO_VALUE_ON_ZERO is set into SQL_MODE.
In contrast, if the field's value is 0, Store engine of slave always generates a new sequence number
whether or not NO_AUTO_VALUE_ON_ZERO is set into SQL_MODE.

SQL MODE of slave sql thread is always consistency with master's.

354f5f7bac BUG#46864 Incorrect update of InnoDB table on slave when using trigger with myisam table
Slave does not correctly handle "expected errors" leading to inconsistencies
between the mater and slave. Specifically, when a statement changes both
transactional and non-transactional tables, the transactional changes are
automatically rolled back on the master but the slave ignores the error and
does not roll them back thus leading to inconsistencies.

To fix the problem, we automatically roll back a statement that fails on
the slave but note that the transaction is not rolled back unless a "rollback"
command is in the relay log file.

78585a25ff BUG#46130 Slave does not correctly handle "expected errors"
In STATEMENT based replication, a statement that failed on the master but that
updated non-transactional tables is written to binary log with the error code
appended to it. On the slave, the statement is executed and the same error is
expected. However, when an "expected error" did not happen on the slave and was
either ignored or was related to a concurrency issue on the master, the slave
did not rollback the effects of the statement and as such inconsistencies might
happen.

To fix the problem, we automatically rollback a statement that should have
failed on a slave but succeded and whose expected failure is either ignored or
stems from a concurrency issue on the master.

Replication SQL thread does not set database default charset to

8ba57fa3c9 BUG#44581 Slave stops when transaction with non-transactional table gets lock wait
timeout

In STMT and MIXED modes, a statement that changes both non-transactional and
transactional tables must be written to the binary log whenever there are
changes to non-transactional tables. This means that the statement gets into the
binary log even when the changes to the transactional tables fail. In particular
, in the presence of a failure such statement is annotated with the error number
and wrapped in a begin/rollback. On the slave, while applying the statement, it
is expected the same failure and the rollback prevents the transactional changes
to be persisted.

Unfortunately, statements that fail due to concurrency issues (e.g. deadlocks,
timeouts) are logged in the same way causing the slave to stop as the statements
are applied sequentially by the SQL Thread. To fix this bug, we automatically
ignore concurrency failures on the slave. Specifically, the following failures
are ignored: ER_LOCK_WAIT_TIMEOUT, ER_LOCK_DEADLOCK and ER_XA_RBDEADLOCK.

dd59815f59 BUG#34687 Error in bin-log after shutdown restart binlog was not closed properly
While reading a binary log that is being used by a master or was not properly
closed, most likely due to a crash, the following warning message is being
printed out: "Warning: this binlog was not closed properly. Most probably mysqld
crashed writing it.". This was scaring our users as the message was not taking
into account the possibility of the file is being just used by the master.

To avoid unnecessarily scaring our users, we replace the original message by the
following one: Warning: "this binlog is either is use or was not closed properly.".

60a2bbb8dd BUG#42749: infinite loop writing to row based binlog - processlist shows
"freeing items"

The calculation of the table map log event in the event constructor
was one byte shorter than what would be actually written. This would
lead to a mismatch between the number of bytes written and the event
end_log_pos, causing bad event alignment in the binlog (corrupted
binlog) or in the transaction cache while fixing positions
(MYSQL_BIN_LOG::write_cache). This could lead to impossible to read
binlog or even infinite loops in MYSQL_BIN_LOG::write_cache.

This patch addresses this issue by correcting the expected event
length in the Table_map_log_event constructor, when the field metadata
size exceeds 255.

sql/log_event.cc:
Added the extra byte as net_store_length imposes.

8f95c5e183 Bug #44442: Incident events are silent in mysqlbinlog output
In the output from mysqlbinlog, incident log events were
represented as just a comment. Since the incident log event
represents an incident that could cause the contents of the
database to change without being logged to the binary log,
it means that if the SQL is applied to a server, it could
potentially lead to that the databases are out of sync.

In order to handle that, this patch adds the statement "RELOAD
DATABASE" to the SQL output for the incident log event. This will
require a DBA to edit the file and handle the case as apropriate
before applying the output to a server.

mysql-test/suite/binlog/t/binlog_incident-master.opt:
Options file to cause server to generate an incident log
  event when executing a REPLACE.
mysql-test/suite/binlog/t/binlog_incident.test:
Test to check that the incident log event is represented
correctly in the output from mysqlbinlog.
sql/log_event.cc:
The incident log event now ouput a "RELOAD DATABASE" instead
of just a comment. RELOAD DATABASE is not an existing command
and will generate a syntax error.

f9338b318e BUG#39393 slave-skip-errors does not work when using ROW based replication
RBR was not considering the option --slave-skip-errors.

To fix the problem, we are reporting the ignored ERROR(s) as warnings thus avoiding
stopping the SQL Thread. Besides, it fixes the output of "SHOW VARIABLES LIKE
'slave_skip_errors'" which was showing nothing when the value "all" was assigned
to --slave-skip-errors.

@sql/log_event.cc

51a9116638 BUG#37145 Killing a statement doing DDL may log binlog event with error code 1053
When the thread executing a DDL was killed after finished its
execution but before writing the binlog event, the error code in
the binlog event could be set wrongly to ER_SERVER_SHUTDOWN or
ER_QUERY_INTERRUPTED.

This patch fixed the problem by ignoring the kill status when
constructing the event for DDL statements.

This patch also included the following changes in order to
provide the test case.

 1) modified mysqltest to support variable for connection command

 2) modified mysql-test-run.pl, add new variable MYSQL_SLAVE to
run mysql client against the slave mysqld.

21cc7d5a25 Bug#38205 Row-based Replication (RBR) causes inconsistencies: HA_ERR_FOUND_DUP
Bug#319 if while a non-transactional slave is replicating a transaction possible problem

It is impossible to roll back a mixed engines transaction when one of the engine is
non-transaction. In replication that fact is crucial because the slave can not safely
re-apply a transction that was interrupted with STOP SLAVE.

Fixed with making STOP SLAVE not be effective immediately in the case the current
group of replication events has modified a non-transaction table. In order for slave to leave
either the group needs finishing or the user issues KILL QUERY|CONNECTION slave_thread_id.

b97083dfc7 Bug #42861 Assigning invalid directories to --slave-load-tmpdir crashes the slave
Compiling with debug and assigning an invalid directory to --slave-load-tmpdir
was crashing the slave due to the following assertion DBUG_ASSERT(! is_set() ||
can_overwrite_status). This assertion assumes that a thread can change its
state once (i.e. ok,error, etc) before aborting, cleaning/resuming or completing
its execution unless the overwrite flag (i.e. can_overwrite_status) is true.

The Append_block_log_event::do_apply_event which is responsible for creating
temporary file(s) was not cleaning the thread state. Thus a failure while
trying to create a file in an invalid temporary directory was causing the crash.

To fix the problem we check if the temporary directory is valid before starting
the SQL Thread and reset the thread state before creating a file in
Append_block_log_event::do_apply_event.

b42c29cfe3 BUG#22504 load data infile sql statement in replication architecture get error
The problem is issued because we set wrong start position and stop position of query string into binlog.
That two values are stored as part of head info of query string.
When we parse binlog, we first get position values then get the query string according position values.
But seems that two values are not calculated correctly after the parse of Yacc.

We don't want to touch so much of yacc because it may influence other codes.
So just add one space after 'INTO' key word when parsing.
This can easily resolve the problem.

9b11bc02ae Bug #41183 rpl_ndb_circular, rpl_ndb_circular_simplex need maintenance, crash
The bug happened because filtering-out a STMT_END_F-flagged event so that
the transaction COMMIT finds traces of incomplete statement commit.
Such situation is only possible with ndb circular replication. The filtered-out
rows event is one that immediately preceeds the COMMIT query event.

Fixed with deploying an the rows-log-event statement commit at executing
of the transaction COMMIT event.
Resources that were allocated by other than STMT_END_F-flagged event of
the last statement are clean up prior execution of the commit logics.

  re-enabling two tests.
sql/log_event.cc:

8c3389f386 Bug #31240 load data infile replication between (4.0 or 4.1) and 5.1 fails
It's a regression issue.
The reason of the bug appeared to be an error introduced into 5.1 source code.
A piece of code in Create_file_log_event::do_apply_event() did not have test
coverage which made make test and pb unaware.

Fixed with inverting the old value of the return value from

5c92f27f63 BUG#41961: Some log_event types do not skip post-header when reading
Problem: when the server reads a log_event from file, it should read
the post-header lengths from the format_description_log_event. Some
event types which currently have post-header length 0 did not do this,
and instead had a hard-coded zero length for the post-header. That
means the current server version will not be able to read future
versions of these events.
Fix: make the reader functions read the post-header.

sql/log_event.cc:
   - Made Format_description_log_event constructor initialize all
post-header lengths explicitly, to make it easier to find them
     in the source code.
   - After this, it is no longer necessary to pass the MY_ZEROFILL
flag to my_malloc. I removed the flag and added a sanity-check
that will be executed only in debug-mode.
   - Made INTVAR, RAND, USER_VAR, and XID events skip post_header_len
     when reading from file.
sql/log_event.h:
Added explicit defines for the lengths of all event types.

2019f17276 Bug #40004 Replication failure with no PK + no indexes
In certain situations, a scan of the table will return the error
code HA_ERR_RECORD_DELETED, and this error code is not
correctly caught in the Rows_log_event::find_row() function, which
causes an error to be returned for this case.

This patch fixes the problem by adding code to either ignore the
record and continuing with the next one, the the event of a table
scan, or change the error code to HA_ERR_KEY_NOT_FOUND, in the event
that a key lookup is attempted.

b4c5cafeb0 Fix for bug#38269: pushbuild gives valgrind error in
ha_statistic_increment for rpl_temporary

Problem: in some cases master send a special event to reconnecting
slave to keep slave's temporary tables (see #17284) and they still
have references to the "old" SQL slave thread and use them to access
thread's data.

Fix: set temporary tables thread references to the actual SQL slave
thread in such cases.

Fix for bug#38269: pushbuild gives valgrind error in

8d9cf89e96 Bug #38360: BLACKHOLE replication with RBR is broken
The Blackhole engine did not support row-based replication
since the delete_row(), update_row(), and the index and range
searching functions were not implemented.

This patch adds row-based replication support for the
Blackhole engine by implementing the two functions mentioned
above, and making the engine pretend that it has found the
correct row to delete or update when executed from the slave
SQL thread by implementing index and range searching functions.

It is necessary to only pretend this for the SQL thread, since
a SELECT executed on the Blackhole engine will otherwise never
return EOF, causing a livelock.

mysql-test/extra/binlog_tests/blackhole.test:
  Blackhole now handles row-based replication.
mysql-test/extra/rpl_tests/rpl_blackhole.test:
Test helper file for testing that blackhole actually
writes something to the binary log on the slave.

  Replication now handles row-based replcation.
mysql-test/suite/rpl/t/rpl_blackhole.test:
Test that Blackhole works with primary key, index, or none.
sql/log_event.cc:
Correcting code to only touch filler bits and leave
all other bits alone. It is necessary since there is
no guarantee that the engine will be able to fill in
the bits correctly (e.g., the blackhole engine).
storage/blackhole/ha_blackhole.cc:
Adding definitions for update_row() and delete_row() to return OK
when executed from the slave SQL thread with thd->query == NULL
(indicating that row-based replication events are being processed).

  Changing rnd_next(), index_read(), index_read_idx(), and
index_read_last() to return OK when executed from the slave SQL
thread (faking that the row has been found so that processing
  proceeds to update/delete the row).
storage/blackhole/ha_blackhole.h:
  Enabling row capabilities for engine.
  Defining write_row(), update_row(), and delete_row().
Making write_row() private (as it should be).

bd35cfe22e BUG#38734 rpl_server_id2 sync_with_master failed
Rotate event is automatically generated and written when rotating binary
log or relay log. Rotate events for relay logs are usually ignored by slave
SQL thread becuase they have the same server id as that of the slave.
However, if --replicate-same-server-id is enabled, rotate event
for relay log would be treated as if it's a rotate event from master, and
would be executed by slave to update the rli->group_master_log_name and
rli->group_master_log_pos to a wrong value and cause the MASTER_POS_WAIT
function to fail and return NULL.

This patch fixed this problem by setting a flag bit (LOG_EVENT_RELAY_LOG_F)
in the event to tell the SQL thread to ignore these Rotate events generated
for relay logs.

This patch also added another binlog event flag bit (LOG_EVENT_ARTIFICIAL_F)
to distinquish faked events, the method used before this was by checking if
log_pos was zero.

sql/log.h:
Add a member to MYSQL_BIN_LOG to distinguish binary log from relay log.
sql/log_event.cc:
Change artificial_event member to LOG_EVENT_ARTIFICIAL_F flag

If LOG_EVENT_RELAY_LOG_F is set in the event flags for a rotate event, ignore it when updating position

  Refactored the code in Rotate_log_event::do_update_pos
sql/log_event.h:
Add LOG_EVENT_RELAY_LOG_F flag to Log_event flags
Add RELAY_LOG flag to Rotate_log_event flags
sql/sql_repl.cc:
Set LOG_EVENT_ARTIFICIAL_F for fake rotate events

a018e98cba BUG#37051 Replication rules not evaluated correctly
The problem of this bug is that we need to get the list of tables
to be updated for a multi-table update statement, which requires to
open all the tables referenced by the statement and resolve all
the fields involved in update in order to figure out the list of
tables for update. However if there are replicate filter rules,
some tables might not exist on slave and result in a failure
before we could examine the filter rules.

I think the whole problem can not be solved on slave alone,
the master must record and send the information of tables
involved for update to slave, so that the slave do not need to
open all the tables referenced by the multi-table update statement to
figure out which tables are involved for update.

So a status variable is added to Query_log event to store the
value of table map for update on master. And on slave, it will
try to get the value of this variable and use it to examine
filter rules without opening any tables on slave, if this values
is not available, the old approach is used and thus the bug will
still occur for when replicating from old masters.

914cae3a2d Bug #37150 Risk for crash in User_var_log_event::exec_event()
On certain kinds of errors (e.g., out of stack), a call to Item_func_
set_user_var::fix_fields() might fail. Since the return value of this
call was not checked inside User_var_log_event::exec_event(), continuing
execution after this will cause a crash inside Item_func_set_user_var::
update_hash().

The bug is fixed by aborting execution of the event with an error if
fix_fields() fails, since it is not possible to continue execution anyway.

sql/log_event.cc:
Aborting execution of event if fix_fields() fails since execution
of update_hash() might cause a crash.

dac6ffb958 BUG#36197: flush tables (or little table cache) can cause crash on slave
When flushing tables, there were a slight chance that the flush was occuring
between processing of two table map events. Since the tables are opened
one by one, it might result in that the tables were not valid and that sub-
sequent locking of tables would cause the slave to crash.

The problem is solved by opening and locking all tables at once using
simple_open_n_lock_tables(). Also, the patch contain a change to open_tables()
so that pre-locking only takes place when the trg_event_map is not zero, which
was not the case before (this caused the lock to be placed in thd->locked_tables
instead of thd->lock since the assumption was that triggers would be called
later and therefore the tables should be pre-locked).

edb7733c83 BUG#34541: mysqlbinlog prints 'set;' in stm mode after changing autocommit mode
Problem: a typo in the code. When autocommit, foreign_key_checks,
sql_auto_is_null, or unique_checks changes, it prints "SET", and then a
comma-separated list of assignments. However, it does not print the
assignment to the @@autocommit variable.
Fix: print the @@autocommit variable.

f56d77dadf BUG#29020 (Event results not correctly replicated to slave in RBR):
The bug allow multiple executing transactions working with non-transactional
to interfere with each others by interleaving the events of different trans-
actions.

Bug is fixed by writing non-transactional events to the transaction cache and
flushing the cache to the binary log at statement commit. To mimic the behavior
of normal statement-based replication, we flush the transaction cache in row-
based mode when there is no committed statements in the transaction cache,
which means we are committing the first one. This means that it will be written
to the binary log as a "mini-transaction" with just the rows for the statement.

Note that the changes here does not take effect when building the server with
HAVE_TRANSACTIONS set to false, but it is not clear if this was possible before
this patch either.

For row-based logging, we also have that when AUTOCOMMIT=1, the code now always
generates a BEGIN/COMMIT pair for single statements, or BEGIN/ROLLBACK pair in the
case of non-transactional changes in a statement that was rolled back. Note that
for the case where changes to a non-transactional table causes a rollback due
to error, the statement will now be logged with a BEGIN/ROLLBACK pair, even
though some changes has been committed to the non-transactional table.

875ad6d8b8 BUG#31168: @@hostname does not replicate
Problem: in mixed and statement mode, a query that refers to a
system variable will use the slave's value when replayed on
slave. So if the value of a system variable is inserted into a
table, the slave will differ from the master.
Fix: mark statements that refer to a system variable as "unsafe",
meaning they will be replicated by row in mixed mode and produce a warning
in statement mode. There are some exceptions: some variables are actually
replicated. Those should *not* be marked as unsafe.
BUG#34732: mysqlbinlog does not print default values for auto_increment variables
Problem: mysqlbinlog does not print default values for some variables,
including auto_increment_increment and others. So if a client executing
the output of mysqlbinlog has different default values, replication will
be wrong.
Fix: Always print default values for all variables that are replicated.
I need to fix the two bugs at the same time, because the test cases would
fail if I only fixed one of them.

include/m_ctype.h:
Added definition of ILLEGAL_CHARSET_INFO_NUMBER. We just need a symbol
for a number that will never be used by any charset. ~0U should be safe
since charset numbers are sequential, starting from 0.

mysql-test/suite/binlog/t/binlog_base64_flag.test:

  nondeterministic.
mysql-test/suite/binlog/t/binlog_unsafe.test:
Add tests that using variables is unsafe. The 'CREATE VIEW' tests didn't
make sense, so I removed them. SHOW WARNINGS is not necessary either,
because we get warnings for each statement in the result file.
mysql-test/suite/rpl/r/rpl_row_mysqlbinlog.result:
  Updated result file.
mysql-test/suite/rpl/r/rpl_skip_error.result:
  Updated result file.
mysql-test/suite/rpl/t/rpl_skip_error.test:
The test used @@server_id, which is not safe to replicate, so it would
have given a warning. The way it used @@server_id was hackish (issue a
query on master that removes rows only on master), so I replaced it by a
more robust way to do the same thing (connect to slave and insert the
  rows only there).
Also clarified what the test case does.
mysql-test/t/mysqlbinlog2.test:
Use --short-form instead of manually filtering out nondeterministic stuff
from mysqlbinlog (because we added the nondeterministic @@pseudo_thread_id
  to the output).
sql/item_func.cc:
Added method of Item_func_get_system_var that indicates whether the given
system variable will be written to the binlog or not.
sql/item_func.h:
Added method of Item_func_get_system_var that indicates whether the given
system variable will be written to the binlog or not.
sql/log_event.cc:
   - auto_increment_offset was not written to the binlog if
  auto_increment_increment=1
   - mysqlbinlog did not output default values for some variables
(BUG#34732). In st_print_event_info, we remember for each variable whether
it has been printed or not. This is achieved in different ways for
  different variables:
      - For auto_increment_*, lc_time_names, charset_database_number,
we set the default values in st_print_event_info to something
illegal, so that it will look like they have changed the first time
        they are seen.
      - For charset, sql_mode, pseudo_thread_id, we add a flag to
st_print_event_info which indicates whether the variable has been
        printed.
      - Since pseudo_thread_id is now printed more often, and its value is
not guaranteed to be constant across different runs of the same
test script, I replaced it by a constant if --short-form is used.
   - Moved st_print_event_info constructor from log_event.h to log_event.cc,
since it now depends on ILLEGAL_CHARSET_NUMBER, which is defined in
m_ctype.h, which is better to include from a .cc file than from a header
  file.
sql/log_event.h:
Added fields to st_print_event_info that indicate whether some of the
variables have been written or not. Since the initialization of
charset_database_number now depends on ILLEGAL_CHARSET_INFO_NUMBER, which
is defined in a header file, which we'd better not include from this
header file -- I moved the constructor from here to log_event.cc.
sql/set_var.cc:
System variables now have a flag binlog_status, which indicates if they
are written to the binlog. If nothing is specified, all variables are
marked as not written to the binlog (NOT_IN_BINLOG) when created. In this
file, the variables that are written to the binlog are marked with
  SESSION_VARIABLE_IN_BINLOG.
sql/set_var.h:
Added flag binlog_status to class sys_var. Added a getter and a
  constructor parameter that sets it.
Since I had to change sys_var_thd_enum constructor anyways, I simplified
it to use default values of arguments instead of three copies of the
  constructor.
sql/sql_yacc.yy:
Mark statements that refer to a system variable as "unsafe",
meaning they will be replicated by row in mixed mode. Added comment to
explain strange piece of code just above.
mysql-test/include/diff_tables.inc:
New auxiliary test file that tests whether two tables (possibly one on
master and one on slave) differ.
mysql-test/suite/rpl/r/rpl_variables.result:
New test case needs new result file.
mysql-test/suite/rpl/r/rpl_variables_stm.result:

  row-based mode).

fea2a5d83d BUG#13861 - START SLAVE UNTIL may stop 1 evnt too late if
log-slave-updates and circul repl

Slave SQL thread may execute one extra event when there are events
skipped by slave I/O thread (e.g. originated by the same server).
Whereas it was requested not to do so by the UNTIL condition.

This happens because we compare with the end position of previously
executed event. This is fine when there are no skipped by slave I/O
thread events, as end position of previous event equals to start
position of to be executed event. Otherwise this position equals to
start position of skipped event.

This is fixed by:
- reading the event to be executed before checking if the until condition
  is satisfied.
- comparing the start position of the event to be executed. Since we do
not have the start position available, we compute it by subtracting
event length from end position (which is available).
- if there are no events on the event queue at the slave sql starting
time, that meet until condition, we stop immediately, as in this
case we do not want to wait for next event.

526798dbb5 A fix and a test case for Bug#12713 "Error in a stored function called from
a SELECT doesn't cause ROLLBACK of statem".

The idea of the fix is to ensure that we always commit the current
statement at the end of dispatch_command(). In order to not issue
redundant disc syncs, an optimization of the two-phase commit
protocol is implemented to bypass the two phase commit if
the transaction is read-only.

mysql-test/suite/binlog/r/binlog_row_mix_innodb_myisam.result:
  Update test results.
mysql-test/suite/binlog/r/binlog_stm_mix_innodb_myisam.result:

mysql-test/suite/rpl_ndb/t/disabled.def:
Disable the tests, for which this changeset reveals a bug:
the injector thread does not always add 'statement commit' to the
rows injected in circular replication set up.
  To be investigated separately.
sql/ha_ndbcluster_binlog.cc:
Add close_thread_tables() to run_query: this ensures
that all tables are closed and there is no pending statement transaction.
sql/handler.cc:
  Implement optimisation of read-only transactions.
If a transaction consists only of DML statements that do not change
data, we do not perform a two-phase commit for it
  (run one phase commit only).
sql/handler.h:
  Implement optimisation of read-only transactions.
If a transaction consists only of DML statements that do not change
data, we do not perform a two-phase commit for it
  (run one phase commit only).
sql/log.cc:
Mark the binlog transaction read-write whenever it's started.
We never read from binlog, so it's safe and least intrusive to add
  this mark up here.
sql/log_event.cc:
Update to the new layout of thd->transaction.

sql/sql_class.h:
Implement a new layout of storage engine transaction info in which
it is easy to access all members related to the handlerton only
  based on ht->slot.
sql/sql_cursor.cc:
Update to the new layout of thd->transaction.
sql/sql_delete.cc:
Remove wrong and now redundant calls to ha_autocommit_or_rollback.
The transaction is committed in one place, at the end of the statement.
Remove calls to mysql_unlock_tables, since some engines count locks

Previously it was necessary to unlock tables soon because we wanted
to avoid sending of 'ok' packet to the client under locked tables.
This is no longer necessary, since OK packet is also sent from one place
  at the end of transaction.
sql/sql_do.cc:
Add DO always clears the error, we must rollback the current

and not rolled back in the end.
