The variable `sbindir` is never set for cmake. This adds borked paths to
`galera_recovery`, though it dit not break as the systemd unit changes
the dir to make the relative path work anyway.
Let's fix this nevertheless...
These are mainly internal files so is a low impact change.
The few scripts/mysql*sql where renames to mariadb_* prefix
on the name.
mysql-test renamed to mariadb-test in the final packages
For both Deb and RPM, create mariadb-client-compat and
mariadb-server-compat containing the mysql links to the mariadb
named executables/scripts.
The mariadb-client-core mysqlcheck was moved to mariadb-client-compat.
The symlinks in MYSQL_ADD_EXECUTABLE is tagged as a
{Client,Server}Symlinks component and placed in
the symlinks packages.
Man pages are restructured be installed into compat package
if that matches the executable.
Columnstore has a workaround as it doesn't use the cmake/plugin.cmake.
Scripts likewise have compatibility symlinks are in
the {server,client}-compat packages.

Closes#2390
The mysqld_safe script was using bad grep options.
The line that was fixed was likely meant to be 2 separate grep commands,
piped into each other, with each one removing any lines that matched.
The `-E` option was unneeded, as the command is not using regex.
This commit adds a mtr test for reproducing a test scenario where despite of
innodb_disallow_writes blocking, writes to file system can still happen.
The test launches a garbd node, which triggers one of the cluster node to switch to
SST donor state. In this state, all disk activity should be halted, and e.g.
innodb_disallow_writes has been set. The test records md5sum aggregate over mariadb
data directory when the node enters the donor state, and records another md5sum
when the node leaves the donor state. If there is no IO activity in data directory, these
hashes should be equal.
For this test, the Donor state processing, has beeen instrumented so that, SST donor thread can be
stopped when entering the donor state. The test uses this new dbug sync point,
to control when to record the md5sums.
New SST script was added: wsrep_sst_backup, and garbd uses backup method to lauch the donor
node to call this script, and to enter in donor state.
The backup script could be later extended as general purpose backup method for the cluster.
This commit fixes also one race condition happening in wsrep_sst_rsync, like this:
* wsrep_rsync_sst script requests for flush tables,
and then waits in a loop until mariadbd has created file tables_flushed,
as confirmation that FLUSH TABLES has completed
* mariadbd's SST donor thread, wakes for the flush table request and then performs FTWRL,
and after this it creates the tables_flushed file
* note that SST script will now continue to startup rsync sending
* mariadbd's SST donor thread now calls for sst_disallow_writes(),
so that innodb would setup disk IO blockage, however rsyncing may already be ongoing at this point
This race condition is fixed in this commit, by performing all disk IO blocking before
creating the tables_flushed file.

As a part of this MDEV following changes were made:
1) Mariadb named executables used instead of mysql named executables in scripts
2) renamed mysql-test-run and mysql-stress-test to mariadb-test-run and
mariadb-stress-test and created a symlink.
When CMAKE_CROSSCOMPILING_EMULATOR is defined, a cross-compile
can be made, however with native (emulated) execution possible.
This commit takes those points in the build system that
execute built targets natively and allow these to be executed
in a crosscompile if CMAKE_CROSSCOMPILING_EMULATOR is defined.
Closes#1805
This script is unused and unmaintained.
The logic is implemented in scripts/mysql_system_tables_fix.sql that forms part of mysql_upgrade
Its components:
alter table mysql.user drop column `password_last_changed`, drop column `password_lifetime`, drop column `account_locked`;
has a friendlier migration path coming MDEV-24122
alter table mysql.user change column `authentication_string` `auth_string` text COLLATE utf8_bin NOT NULL;
Already part of scripts/mysql_system_tables_fix.sql
alter table mysql.user add column `Password` char(41) CHARACTER SET latin1 COLLATE latin1_bin NOT NULL DEFAULT '' after `user`, add column `is_role` enum('N','Y') CHARACTER SET utf8 NOT NULL DEFAULT 'N' after `auth_string`;
alter table mysql.user add column `default_role` char(80) COLLATE utf8_bin NOT NULL DEFAULT '', add column `max_statement_time` decimal(12,6) NOT NULL DEFAULT '0.000000';
corrected in MDEV-23201 to be in the right order.
update mysql.user set `password`=`auth_string`, plugin='' where plugin="mysql_native_password";
Is handled in server in the function acl_load.
cleanups from PR 900:
- Use mariadb names instead of mysql and add secure-installation and
additionally organize man pages.
- Remove obsolete script `/make_binary_distribution`
- Don't build binary `mariadb-install-db` in case of without-server
- increase MAX_BOOTSTRAP_QUERY_SIZE (sys.schema has SP over 50K large)
don't allocate bootstrap query on heap anymore.
- support DELIMITER in bootstrap
To change all executables to have a mariadb name I had to:
- Do name changes in every CMakeLists.txt that produces executables
- CREATE_MARIADB_SYMLINK was removed and GET_SYMLINK added by Wlad to reuse the function in other places also
- The scripts/CMakeLists.txt could make use of GET_SYMLINK instead of introducing redundant code, but I thought I'll leave that for next release
- A lot of changes to debian/.install and debian/.links files due to swapping of real executable and symlink. I did not however change the name of the manpages, so the real name is still mysql there and mariadb are symlinks.
- The Windows part needed a change now when we made the executables mariadb -named. MSI (and ZIP) do not support symlinks and to not break backward compatibility we had to include mysql named binaries also. Done by Wlad
This allows one to run the test suite even if any of the following
options are changed:
- character-set-server
- collation-server
- join-cache-level
- log-basename
- max-allowed-packet
- optimizer-switch
- query-cache-size and query-cache-type
- skip-name-resolve
- table-definition-cache
- table-open-cache
- Some innodb options
etc
Changes:
- Don't print out the value of system variables as one can't depend on
them to being constants.
- Don't set global variables to 'default' as the default may not
be the same as the test was started with if there was an additional
option file. Instead save original value and reset it at end of test.
- Test that depends on the latin1 character set should include
default_charset.inc or set the character set to latin1
- Test that depends on the original optimizer switch, should include
default_optimizer_switch.inc
- Test that depends on the value of a specific system variable should
set it in the test (like optimizer_use_condition_selectivity)
- Split subselect3.test into subselect3.test and subselect3.inc to
make it easier to set and reset system variables.
- Added .opt files for test that required specfic options that could
be changed by external configuration files.
- Fixed result files in rockdsb & tokudb that had not been updated for
a while.
