807e4f320f Change my_umask{,_dir} to mode_t and remove os_innodb_umask
os_innodb_umask was of the incorrect type resulting in warnings
in clang-19. The correct type is mode_t.

As os_innodb_umask was set during innnodb_init from my_umask,
corrected the type there along with its companion my_umask_dir.
Because of this, the defaults mask values in innodb never
had an effect.

The resulting change allow found signed differences in
my_create{,_nosymlink}, open_nosymlinks:

mysys/my_create.c:47:20: error: operand of ?: changes signedness from ‘int’ to ‘mode_t’ {aka ‘unsigned int’} due to unsignedness of other operand [-Werror=sign-compare]
   47 |      CreateFlags ? CreateFlags : my_umask);

e42130e9cd Fixes that enables my_new.cc (new wrapper using my_malloc)
This is not enabled by default, as there are leaks in the
server that needs to be fixed first. One can compile
with -DUSE_MYSYS_NEW to find the memory leaks from
'new'. More comments can be found in mysys/my_new.cc

dbcd3384e0 MDEV-7947 strcmp() takes 0.37% in OLTP RO
This patch ensures that all identical character sets shares the same
cs->csname.
This allows us to replace strcmp() in my_charset_same() with comparisons
of pointers. This fixes a long standing performance issue that could cause
as strcmp() for every item sent trough the protocol class to the end user.

One consequence of this patch is that we don't allow one to add a character
definition in the Index.xml file that changes the csname of an existing
character set. This is by design as changing character set names of existing
ones is extremely dangerous, especially as some storage engines just records
character set numbers.

As we now have a hash over character set's csname, we can in the future
use that for faster access to a specific character set. This could be done
by changing the hash to non unique and use the hash to find the next
character set with same csname.

e50b2bdbcf MDEV-20425 Implement Boolean debug build option debug_assert
Commit 536215e32f in MariaDB Server 10.3.1
introduced the compiler flag (not cmake option) DBUG_ASSERT_AS_PRINTF
that converts DBUG_ASSERT in non-debug builds into printouts.

For debug builds, it could be useful to be able to convert DBUG_ASSERT
into a warning or error printout, to allow execution to continue.
This would allow debug builds to be used for reproducing hard failures
that occur with release builds.

my_assert: A Boolean flag (set by default), tied to the new option
debug_assert that is available on debug builds only.
When set, DBUG_ASSERT() will invoke assert(), like it did until now.
When unset, DBUG_ASSERT() will invoke fprintf(stderr, ...)
with the file name, line number and assertion expression.

  MariaDB modifies the binlog index file directly, while MySQL 5.6 has a feature "crash-safe binlog index" and modifies a special "crash-safe" shadow copy of the index file and then moves it over. That's why this test shows "NONE" index file writes in MySQL and "MANY" in MariaDB.

The idea is that my_global_flags is ored to the MyFlags parameter for the above functions if the MY_WME flag is not set.
As the my_global_flags has ME_JUST_INFO (mark error as 'note') and possible ME_NOREFRESH (write error to log) this will force mysqld to log the not critical error to the log as a note.

4171483b53 Backport Fix for Bug#24509 - 2048 file descriptor limit on windows needs increasing.
The patch replaces the use of the POSIX I/O interfaces in mysys on Windows with
the Win32 API calls (CreateFile, WriteFile, etc). The Windows HANDLE for the open
 file is stored in the my_file_info struct, along with a flag for append mode
(because the Windows API does not support opening files in append mode in all cases)
The default max open files has been increased to 16384 and can be increased further
by setting --max-open-files=<value> during the server start.

Noteworthy benefit of this patch is that it removes limits from the table_cache size -
allowing for more simultaneus users
