Resolving a stacktrace including functions in dynamic libraries requires
us to look inside the libraries for the symbols. Addr2line needs to be
started with the correct binary for each address on the stack. To do this,
figure out which library it is using dladdr, then if the addr2line
binary was started with a different binary, fork it again with the
correct one.
We only have one addr2line process running at any point during the
stacktrace resolving step. The maximum number of forks for addr2line should
generally be around 6.
One for server stacktrace code, one for plugin code, one when going back
into server code, one for pthread library, one for libc, one for the
_start function in the server. More can come up if plugin calls server
function which goes back to a plugin, etc.
on many builders oqgraph failed to compile because isfinite wasn't defined.
fix this mess of ifdefs/defines to work properly no matter
whether isfinite/isnan/isinf is a function or a macro
and whether stl header undefines it or not.
and remove the hackish workaround from oqgraph.
THREE BYTES ON X86
Analysis:
=========
The macro uint3korr reads 4 bytes of data instead of 3 on
on x86 machines.
Multiple definitions were created for this macro for
optimization in WIN32. The idea was to optimize reading of
3 byte ints by reading an ordinary int and masking away the
unused byte. However this is an undefined behavior. It will
be an issue unless users are aware of allocating an extra
byte for using this macro.
Fix:
====
Removing the definition which reads 4 bytes of data. The
only definition of this macro would now read just 3 bytes
of data thus prohibiting the usage of an extra byte.
Note:
=====
This is a backport of Patches #5 and #6 for Bug#17922198.
Define my_thread_id as an unsigned type, to avoid mismatch with
ulonglong. Change some parameters to this type.
Use size_t in a few more places.
Declare many flag constants as unsigned to avoid sign mismatch
when shifting bits or applying the unary ~ operator.
When applying the unary ~ operator to enum constants, explictly
cast the result to an unsigned type, because enum constants can
be treated as signed.
In InnoDB, change the source code line number parameters from
ulint to unsigned type. Also, make some InnoDB functions return
a narrower type (unsigned or uint32_t instead of ulint;
bool instead of ibool).
Bug #79636: CACHE_LINE_SIZE should be 128 on AArch64
Bug #79637: Hard-coded cache line size
Bug #79638: Reconcile CACHE_LINE_SIZE with CPU_LEVEL1_DCACHE_LINESIZE
Bug #79652: Suspicious padding in srv_conc_t
- changed CPU_LEVEL1_DCACHE_LINESIZE to default to 128 bytes on POWER
and AArch64 architectures in cases when no value could be detected
by CMake using getconf
- changed CACHE_LINE_SIZE definition in ut0counter.h to be an alias of
CPU_LEVEL1_DCACHE_LINESIZE
- changed a number of hard-coded 64-byte cache line size values in the
InnoDB code
- fixed insufficient padding for srv_conc members in srv0conc.cc
Ported to Mariadb by Daniel Black <daniel.black@au.ibm.com>
Added s390 cache size of 256 at same time.
"#include <math.h>" has "#define isfinite(X) ..."
while "#include <cmath>" does "#undef isfinite"
in -std=c++11 mode <cmath> is included, we need a workaround
to provide a usable isfinite()
1. check that unused inline functions are removed
2. only allow compilation if they are or if the check if overridden
3. with CMAKE_GENERATOR=Makefiles, use all flags when testing
(e.g. both CMAKE_C_FLAGS and CMAKE_C_FLAGS_DEBUG if
CMAKE_BUILD_TYPE=Debug). This is because
- on Solaris with the SunPro compiler, default CMAKE_C_FLAGS_xxx
values contain -xO2 (for Release and RelWithDebInfo)
and -g (for RelWithDebInfo and Debug)
- proper inlining only works at -xO4 without -g
- so if CMAKE_C_FLAGS has -xO4, inlining would work in
configure.cmake (before this fix) and fail during actual compilation
also remove the outdated check for inline from myu_global.h
if mysqld runs as service
The bug is caused by the attempt to write to filedescriptor 2
(STDERR_FILENO), however in case of a service stderr has different fd
(debugging shows fileno(stderr) is 4 after freopen, and -1 before it)
Fixed definition of STDERR_FILENO for Windows to be fileno(stderr).
- Added some extra command to rpl_start_stop to ensure that the
IO thread has connected to the master before we shut down the server.
- if signal returns signalhandler_t, use this with the alarm code
- Added missing tests to sys_vars
- Fixed some possible overflow bugs in tabxml.cpp
