dbfee9fc2b MDEV-34348: Consolidate cmp function declarations
Partial commit of the greater MDEV-34348 scope.
MDEV-34348: MariaDB is violating clang-16 -Wcast-function-type-strict

The functions queue_compare, qsort2_cmp, and qsort_cmp2
all had similar interfaces, and were used interchangable
and unsafely cast to one another.

This patch consolidates the functions all into the
qsort_cmp2 interface.

3655cefc42 MDEV-33813 ERROR 1021 (HY000): Disk full (./org/test1.MAI); waiting for someone to free some space
Fixed that internal temporary tables are not waiting for freed disk space.

Other things:
- 'kill id' will now kill a query waiting for free disk space instantly.
  Before it could take up to 60 seconds for the kill would be noticed.
- Fixed that sorting one index is not using MY_WAIT_IF_FULL for temp files.
- Fixed bug where share->write_flag set MY_WAIT_IF_FULL for temp files.

It is quite hard to do a test case for this. Instead I tested all
combinations interactively.

c73c6aea63 MDEV-33426: Aria temptables wrong thread-specific memory accounting in slave thread
Aria temporary tables account allocated memory as specific to the current
THD. But this fails for slave threads, where the temporary tables need to be
detached from any specific THD.

Introduce a new flag to mark temporary tables in replication as "global",
and use that inside Aria to not account memory allocations as thread
specific for such tables.

Based on original suggestion by Monty.

4cb0d43ac6 MDEV-28054 Various crashes upon INSERT/UPDATE after changing Aria settings
The cause of the crash was that test was setting
aria_sort_buffer_size to MAX_LONG_LONG, which caused an overflow in
my_malloc() when trying to allocate the buffer + 8 bytes.

Fixed by reducing max size of sort_buffer for Aria and MyISAM

Other things:
- Added code in maria_repair_parallell() to not allocate a big sort buffer
  for small files.
- Updated size of minumim sort buffer in Aria

3d241eb948 Improve error reporting in Aria
This patch fixes the following issues in Aria error reporting in case
of read errors & crashed tables:
- Added the table name to the most error messages, including in case of
  read errors or when encrypting/decrypting a table. The format for
  error messages was changed sligtly to accomodate logging of errors
  from lower level routines.
- If we got an read error from storage (hard disk, ssd, S3 etc) we only
  reported 'table is crashed'. Now the error number from the storage
  is reported.
- Added checking of read failure from records_in_range()
- Calls to ma_set_fatal_error() did not inform the SQL level of
  errors (to not spam the user with multiple error messages).
  Now the first error message and any fatal error messages are reported
  to the user.

6891c4874a MDEV-28269 Assertion `save_errno' in maria_write or ER_GET_ERRNO
The issue was that the value of MARIA_FOUND_WRONG_KEY was a value
that could be returned by ha_key_cmp.

This was already fixed in MyISAM, now using the same fix in Aria:
Setting the value to INT_MAX32, which should be impossible in any
normal cases.

I also fixed so that if there is a wrong key, we now get a proper error
message and not an assert.

3691cc1575 MDEV-18187 Aria engine: Redo phase failed with "error 192 when executing record redo_index_new_page" upon startup on a restored datadir
The issue is that when recovery is about to create a new data or index
page it check if the page already exits.
If the page does not exists (file is too short) or contains wrong checksum,
then the recovery code will recreate the page.
The bug was that the code that checked if the page existed didn't take
into account encrypted pages.

Fixed by adding a check if page could not be encrypted solved the issue.
I also added some code to silence decryption errors for new pages.

Test case and some inspiration for how to solve this come from

6aa9a552c2 MDEV-24576 Atomic CREATE TABLE
There are a few different cases to consider

Logging of CREATE TABLE and CREATE TABLE ... LIKE
- If REPLACE is used and there was an existing table, DDL log the drop of
  the table.
- If discovery of table is to be done
    - DDL LOG create table
  else
    - DDL log create table (with engine type)
    - create the table
- If table was created
  - Log entry to binary log with xid
  - Mark DDL log completed

Crash recovery:
- If query was in binary log do nothing and exit
- If discoverted table
   - Delete the .frm file
-else
   - Drop created table and frm file
- If table was dropped, write a DROP TABLE statement in binary log

CREATE TABLE ... SELECT required a little more work as when one is using
statement logging the query is written to the binary log before commit is
done.
This was fixed by adding a DROP TABLE to the binary log during crash
recovery if the ddl log entry was not closed. In this case the binary log
will contain:
CREATE TABLE xxx ... SELECT ....
DROP TABLE xxx;

Other things:
- Added debug_crash_here() functionality to Aria to be able to test
  crash in create table between the creation of the .MAI and the .MAD files.

  the same way as lsn's are written by aria_read_log
- Don't write full pages to redo log with EXTRA_DEBUG as this takes up
  a lot of disk and there has not been a need for this extra loggging for
  a long time. Instead one should use EXTRA_ARIA_DEBUG instead.

4102f1589c Aria will now register it's transactions
MDEV-22531 Remove maria::implicit_commit()
MDEV-22607 Assertion `ha_info->ht() != binlog_hton' failed in
           MYSQL_BIN_LOG::unlog_xa_prepare

From the handler point of view, Aria now looks like a transactional
engine. One effect of this is that we don't need to call
maria::implicit_commit() anymore.

This change also forces the server to call trans_commit_stmt() after doing
any read or writes to system tables. This work will also make it easier
to later allow users to have system tables in other engines than Aria.

To handle the case that Aria doesn't support rollback, a new
handlerton flag, HTON_NO_ROLLBACK, was added to engines that has
transactions without rollback (for the moment only binlog and Aria).

Other things
- Moved freeing of MARIA_SHARE to a separate function as the MARIA_SHARE
  can be still part of a transaction even if the table has closed.
- Changed Aria checkpoint to use the new MARIA_SHARE free function. This
  fixes a possible memory leak when using S3 tables
- Changed testing of binlog_hton to instead test for HTON_NO_ROLLBACK
- Removed checking of has_transaction_manager() in handler.cc as we can
  assume that as the transaction was started by the engine, it does
  support transactions.
- Added new class 'start_new_trans' that can be used to start indepdendent
  sub transactions, for example while reading mysql.proc, using help or
  status tables etc.
- open_system_tables...() and open_proc_table_for_Read() doesn't anymore
  take a Open_tables_backup list. This is now handled by 'start_new_trans'.
- Split thd::has_transactions() to thd::has_transactions() and
  thd::has_transactions_and_rollback()
- Added handlerton code to free cached transactions objects.
  Needed by InnoDB.

8d85715d50 MDEV-21794: Optimizer flag rowid_filter leads to long query
Rowid Filter check is just like Index Condition Pushdown check: before
we check the filter, we must check if we have walked out of the range
we are scanning. (If we did, we should return, and not continue the scan).

Consequences of this:
- Rowid filtering doesn't work for keys that have partially-covered
  blob columns (just like Index Condition Pushdown)
- The rowid filter function has three return values: CHECK_POS (passed)
  CHECK_NEG (filtered out), CHECK_OUT_OF_RANGE.

All of the above is implemented in this patch

- Don't print 'aborting' when doing --help
- Don't write 'loose' error messages on log_warning < 2 (2 is default)
- Don't write warnings about disabled plugings when doing --help
- Don't write aria_log_control or aria log files when doing --help
- When using --help, open all Aria tables in read only mode (safety)
- If aria_init() fails, do a cleanup(). (Frees used memory)
- If aria_log_control is locked with --help, then don't wait 30 seconds
  but instead return at once without initialzing Aria plugin.

01e455dbb8 Fix of query cache bug in Aria
MDEV-5817 query cache bug (returning inconsistent/old result
set) with aria table parallel inserts, row format = page

The problem is that for transactional aria tables
(row_type=PAGE and transactional=1), maria_lock_database()
didn't flush the state or the query cache.
Not flushing the state is correct for transactional tables as
this is done by checkpoint, but not flushing the query cache
was wrong and could cause concurrent SELECT queries to not
be deleted from the cache.

Fixed by introducing a flush of the query cache as part of commit, if the table has changed.
t for transactional aria tables (row_type=PAGE and transactional=1), maria_lock_table() didn't flush their state or the query cache.

8acbf9c1f9 MDEV-19595 fixed
The test cases for the MDEV found several independent bugs
in MariaDB server and Aria:
- If a temporary table was marked as crashed, it could never
  be deleted.
- Opening of a crashed temporary table gave an error message
  but the error was never forwarded to the caller which caused
  an assert() in my_ok()
- init_read_record() did mmap of all temporary tables, which is
  probably not a good idea as this area can potentially be
  very big. Changed code to only mmap internal temporary tables.
- mmap-ed tables where not unmapped in case of repair/optimize
  which caused bad data in table and crashes if the original
  table files where replaced with new ones (as the old mmap
  was still in place). Fixed by removing the mmap in case
  of repair.
- Cleaned up usage of code that disabled mmap in Aria
