MDEV-6284: Import most of downstream Debian packaging These changes update the contents and behaviour of current packages to match the current packaging in Debian official repos. Keep mtr test scope small. Updating maintainer scripts also required regenerating the translations. Rules based on modern dh_* buildtools. Update control file with new Debian conventions: - Provide virtual-mysql-* virtual packages - Recommends perl modules instead of Depends

MDEV-30205 Move /usr/share/mysql to /usr/share/mariadb These are mainly internal files so is a low impact change. The few scripts/mysql*sql where renames to mariadb_* prefix on the name. mysql-test renamed to mariadb-test in the final packages

MDEV-19933: Sync mariadb-common and update-alternatives based /etc/mysql/ Split the big my.cnf into multiple smaller files with the same filenames and contents as official Debian/Ubuntu packaging has. The config contents stays the same apart from following additions which the original MariaDB upstream configs had and probably needs to be kept: - lc-messages=en_US and skip-external-locking in server config Configs the original MariaDB upstream had that are seemingly unnecessary and thus removed: - port=3306 removed from the client config - log_warnings=2 removed from server config Also adopt update-alternatives system using mysql-common/configure-symlinks. This way it is aligned with downstream Debian/Ubuntu packaging.

MDEV-27033: Remove version suffix from Debian packages Remove version suffix from Debian packages (for example mariadb-server-10.9) because installing suffixed package removes older version of package even if it's suffixed (for example mariadb-server-10.7) This make also Debian package management easier in future MariaDB version iterations because there is no need for stacking Conlicts/Breaks/Replaces-parameters in every new major release

MDEV-22569: Run bin/mariadbd instead of bin/mysqld Replace all references to /usr/sbin/mysqld (and bin and libexec) with mariadbd, so that the binary server will always be 'mariadbd'. Also update all places that reference the server binary in other ways, such as AppArmor profiles and scripts that previously expected to find a 'mysqld' in process lists.

MDEV-22659: Create one single unified and optimal logrotate config Replace mysql-log-rotate.sh and debian/...mysql-server.logrotate with one new unified and well documented version. Name is mariadb.logrotate.in as in 10.11 branch onward we use now the 'mariadb' name, and use 'logrotate' to match the actual name of the utility. Also automatically disable deprecated /etc/logrotate.d/mysql-server file on deb upgrades. Reviewer: Daniel Black Reviewer edits made: * Added 'su mysql mysql' to the logrotate this is more RPM friendly. This is commented on Debian * /var/log/mysql is the path on SuSe based distributions

Deb: Run 'wrap-and-sort -a' so comparison across releases is easier No functional changes. Apply this in 10.3 so eventually it is merged to 10.4 and 10.5, which in turn will have separate wrap-and-sort runs but only for new lines, and not affecting badly next merges from 10.3 to 10.4 to 10.5. Also remove a duplicate line that was found thanks to wrap-and-sort.

MDEV-21303 Make executables MariaDB named To change all executables to have a mariadb name I had to: - Do name changes in every CMakeLists.txt that produces executables - CREATE_MARIADB_SYMLINK was removed and GET_SYMLINK added by Wlad to reuse the function in other places also - The scripts/CMakeLists.txt could make use of GET_SYMLINK instead of introducing redundant code, but I thought I'll leave that for next release - A lot of changes to debian/.install and debian/.links files due to swapping of real executable and symlink. I did not however change the name of the manpages, so the real name is still mysql there and mariadb are symlinks. - The Windows part needed a change now when we made the executables mariadb -named. MSI (and ZIP) do not support symlinks and to not break backward compatibility we had to include mysql named binaries also. Done by Wlad

Deb: Misc small fixes and cleanups - Include binary wsrep_sst_rsync_wan previously omitted. - Don't build the embedded server. This saves a lot of time and around 500 MB of disk space. - Clean away unused override_dh_installcron. The package does not have any *.cron files, so this section is not needed. - Make mariadb-server run time depend on procps so pgrep works. The command pgrep is used in the maintainer scripts of mariadb-server, thus we should ensure it is found on the system. - Include build plugin func_test.so in test package. Don't include yet type_test.so since it fails (MDEV-22243). - Clean away obsolete Lintian overrides.

MDEV-15473 Isolate/sandbox PAM modules, so that they can't crash the server. New version of PAM plugin (v2.0) added along with the old v1.0. There the pam module is isolated in the auth_pam_tool application so cannot crash the server.

MDEV-32618 new auth plugin PARSEC: Password Authentication using Response Signed with Elliptic Curve new authentication plugin that uses salted passwords, key derivation, extensible password storage format, and both server- and client-side scrambles. Deb: Finalize the version less Debian package transition In addition to the binary .deb packages, also remove the version string from the Debian source package. Also clean away excess use of __MARIADB_MAJOR_VER__ constant and add inline note that the whole debian-XX.X.flag file thing should be removed and replaced by using the new MariaDB server mysql_upgrade_info file.
